Great post thanks! Would this be considered a “Mud Stepping”?

Absolutely, each family I've worked with has a different method for breaking down the foundations of Mud Stepping. However, at a proficient level Liang. Cheng and Wang style stepping all becomes pretty much the same thing.

there is a hardly-known-of hormone released by the kidneys that allows you to naturally have more bounce in your step. I could see it making this circle walk more fluid. apparently more sea salt in your diet helps synthesize this hormone.

Thank you for posting your ba gua to RUclips! I can’t wait to see what you post next!!
I especially appreciate ba gua videos that emphasize MOVEMENT ie change. Many ba gua application videos get bogged down in ‘oh look - here’s this push’ or ‘oh look, here’s this throw’, when what’s revolutionary about ba gua is CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT!!
I eagerly await your next video!

    1. Would not a weighted vest done while circle walking speed up Liang BaGua learning?
    2. What features of Liang would make me choose this style over Cheng style...or any other variants of BaGua?

      1) Weight vests and weight gloves are valuable tools that I use often. However I would not recommend using them until a basic understanding of stepping is reached and the body is well conditioned. As with any shortcuts there are both a risk and reward to weight training. If you start too soon you risk injury in particular to the knees and back.
      2) I practice Cheng and Liang and love them both. During my study I have found distinct differences between the two styles. Cheng tends to be more ridged in early training with a strong focus placed on ridged spinal alignment and leg strengthening. Liang is a little more subtle in its basic version of stepping and less torturous to practice. When I was a beginner I would trade off day to day on practicing Cheng and Liang basics. I feel the combination has given me some really nifty insights into the underline mechanics of BaGuaZhang that I may have missed if I only practiced one or the other... of course I'm sure my Shrfu's would disagree :)

So to not offend either Shrfu, you will be writing 2 BaGua books?
