The DESIGNER series is the best series ever made by Sonor. The hardware all over the shell was incredible. SQ2 is non at the same level of this series.
Toller Film.
Hmmm,i love sonor drums, especially the ones i will never be able to afford, but in 1990 i saved up enough and sold off my first 5pc kit -and purchased a 6pc force 2000 w/2 22'' bass drums, besides the snare sounding terrible the rest boomed and soun ded like war cannons, bought a maple mapex 8x14 w/die cast hoops and all-around remo black dot and paiste rudes ....oh yeah!then the right bass drum telescoping leg mount snapped (pot metal),and the music shop in Tacoma wash (sluggo music)ordered the exclusive and badly needed part from sonor germany.......4months later. Finally and all was well for yearsand years, always wished for a sonor bell brass horst link 8x14 snare, plus a kenworth semi to haul it to shows.anyway sonors are unique and those who play them (jack Dejohnette, nicko McBrain,Micky Dee,Pkil Rudd)always souded great and were very influential to all that wanted to rock,or swing!
The only way my smile could get any wider watching this is if they’d included Ronald Shannon Jackson & Phil Rudd in the SONOR artist list...those guys, along with especially Jack & Steve made a SONOR fan back in the 80s. I bought a Designer kit in ‘94 in the extremely beautiful emerald green stain that you can see in a kind of 3D relief into the first 3 ultra-thin plys through that perfect lacquer job, particularly breathtaking in natural sunlight! A funny/not funny thing happened a few years later-I spent a year playing w/a band that had a smoke machine...to be continued
Essential fade green...my drums... Love them 😊

Heavy maple shells were one of the best I have ever played.

@@checono24 probably the Shell... not the hardware...
Really cool video, even though my favourite (Sonor Lite) was not featured.
Even tho o don’t speak German, I still enjoyed this video.

the closed captions from setting translates to english, well sort of...

We need subtitles for this great video
Great stuff! Thanks
Sonor Signature - (heavy-)bubinga - yes, yes, yeees! 'still today, my set is in a perfect condition
except the cardan coupling of the double-base-pedal

actually the video ends on ~ 27:00
I love my sonor sq 2. Really good for my career and I am looking forward to get Drum sponsor only from Sonor.
