    Hey there. I’m 14, and my dad passed away yesterday morning. I had heard about your channel before, and I’m glad I know about it. I’m a little bit afraid to grow up without a dad, but I have you to help. Thank you for making these videos, it’s really appreciated.
    Edit: thank you guys for the comments, they’re really kind. I hope you all are doing well, and if not then I believe in you

    Thank you for the video. I find that since I didn't really have a dad figure growing up that I lack many skills that I regret not having now. Is it possible for you to do a video/video series on how to build a shed from scratch? Pouring the cement, making sure it's even. Framing the walls, and how to mount them on the concrete, and how to do a basic roof? I know it sounds like a large project.

    Hello internet dad! Quick question if you have a minute. You mentioned that you laid the forms down in place- what did you need to do to prep the ground where it was going? Did you just dig up the sod and lay the cement on the dirt underneath? Thanks for the video! I’m going to make these for the garden I’m building up year by year.

    • @DadhowdoI
      @DadhowdoI  3 года назад +1

      Hi Hannah,
      For my path, there wasn't any sod to begin with. If there was, I would remove it, then level the ground (or at least make it flat, by tamping it down). Then I put in a weed barrier underneath mine, but that's optional. Then I started laying the path and filled it in with rocks when it was done. Blessings. 🙏🏻

      Also look into "tamping" tools to flatten and compress the ground under your pathway. I have one that is literally a flat piece of metal with a stick perpendicular to the shaft of the stick, you smack the ground with a big ol' square. This way it helps prevent the earth move, and if you use sand or gravel you can even out low and high spots for a more smooth path that lasts longer.

    Great video but if I can add just ONE thing more that I found out the hard way. When you're going to be mixing multiple bags, or doing this over severial days, wear a dust mask and even some safety glasses if it's windy outside. Concrete dust can get REALLY irritating to your sinuses and lungs (especially if you have a pre existing issue), and is NOT fun to get in your eyes (and splashes sometimes happen).

I mean this is the first time I’ve spoken to you in my 21 years of life, so yeah, but I just wanted to tell you that I’m going through a rough time right now. I mean it was alright hard growing up without you. I know how to be a man and all but my mama didn’t really tell me how to get over the pain I have inside. I wouldn’t call it depression but I’m currently married, been married for a year now and my wife told me that she doesn’t really like being around me and she’s kinda wants a divorce… I don’t know why but I’ve tried talking with her but it just ends up in a fight and she’s told me this once but it was a while ago and she said she was sorry but I think she really means it now… she’s been hanging out with someone else annnnnd I just don’t know what to do. I love her very much but it’s hard to love someone and not have them love me back. I’m work a job that give me a lot of hours. Annnnd I haven’t heard someone that they are proud of me and telling me to keep fighting in… I don’t remember the last time. So if I can get a good job buddy… or maybe a phone call… text… anything would be nice. Alright take care dad. Bye

    Hey dad, how do i prevent weeds from taking over my garden?
    I work almost every day and have little time to take care of my garden besides mowing once a week and a little bit of weeding.
    But my flower beds keep filling with weeds that grow very fast

    Dad, is it ok to pour new concrete on top of old concrete? I'm trying to fix some concrete stairs that I can't remove the old from, it's not feasible. But want to fix the crumbling areas all over it.
