Hey there. I’m 14, and my dad passed away yesterday morning. I had heard about your channel before, and I’m glad I know about it. I’m a little bit afraid to grow up without a dad, but I have you to help. Thank you for making these videos, it’s really appreciated.
Edit: thank you guys for the comments, they’re really kind. I hope you all are doing well, and if not then I believe in you
Condolences sweetie!
I never had a dad. It's hard, very hard, but you can get through it.
Sending love your way kiddo. ❤️
Thank you guys that means a lot. You made me tear up a bit
@@Mothman4570 If you need advice or something, you can talk to me. I'm also 14.
Dad, can you teach me how to replace a fridge and put in a new water line for it?
Thank you for the video. I find that since I didn't really have a dad figure growing up that I lack many skills that I regret not having now. Is it possible for you to do a video/video series on how to build a shed from scratch? Pouring the cement, making sure it's even. Framing the walls, and how to mount them on the concrete, and how to do a basic roof? I know it sounds like a large project.
This is so great please protect yourself from that cement dust dad 💖
Mom bought this molding in mid 2000’s!! We have never used it! I think i will now!
Man, I admire him so much. Love to support you 🤙🏽
"I'm gonna walk you through that"
Ha, path tutorial :)
I work with cement all the time, thank you for that tip of using that cream. My face is dry af
Will it float? I live on a boat. Lmao 🤣 🤣 jk 😜 I could make one on the dock but my marina wouldn't be too happy. That is amazing people have the fortitude to do this lol I have the attention span of a 2 yr old. Awesome job ! Great job working in the sponsor in video. I'm glad you're getting sponsors! We appreciate your time and wisdom ( even if it is knowing we can learn from bad examples too 😅) so funny. My shovel would way 100 pounds by now 🤣 take care ty
That wasn’t too hard. I feel like I might be able to do this now, thanks Dad! 💛
thanks
Hello internet dad! Quick question if you have a minute. You mentioned that you laid the forms down in place- what did you need to do to prep the ground where it was going? Did you just dig up the sod and lay the cement on the dirt underneath? Thanks for the video! I’m going to make these for the garden I’m building up year by year.
Hi Hannah,
For my path, there wasn't any sod to begin with. If there was, I would remove it, then level the ground (or at least make it flat, by tamping it down). Then I put in a weed barrier underneath mine, but that's optional. Then I started laying the path and filled it in with rocks when it was done. Blessings. 🙏🏻
@@DadhowdoI Thank you so much!
@@DadhowdoI Thanks so much! For everything!
RUclips dad can you teach me how to drive a manual ( vs automatic) ? If I can drive it I can buy a cheaper car. My dad has no patience and I would like to know. Also, the volume wen't down when you were outside.
This is what I was hoping you’d start doing. I just bought a house and I really need my dad’s help. I’m getting it done, though! This is gonna be a project soon. If you need a house to use as an example-come on down to Cincinnati RUclips Dad!
His yard is beautiful, I agree 👍. Looks like a lot of work.
Good luck! That's exciting!
Good luck with your house!
My dad passed when I was 24 and he did teach me a lot, but I still had so much to learn. I have a 16 year old son whose father stepped out of the picture pretty permanently when he was 2 and your videos are so helpful! Thank you for being everyone's surrogate dad!
NO! My kids love it 😍

Holy cow those hydrangeas are stunning! Love the colors.
My dad passed in 2012, he taught my sister and I so many things including jumping a battery in a car, checking tire pressure, changing break pads, and how to change spark plugs. I miss him like crazy and everytime I see one of your videos I can't help but remember all the amazing things he taught me and now after finding this channel all the new things I'm learning from you! Thank you for helping the next generation who may not have a father figure in their lives.
That's so sweet. I bet your dad is proud of both you🥰
This is advanced dadding. This is a bit more than the basics that this channel usually goes through but I’ll take it non the less
Advanced Dadding🤣❤
😃
This is a very basic way to start construction skills...
Can't just do the basics forever
And I also appreciate this!
Any chance you could do a video on swapping a garbage disposal and/or a over the stove microwave?
The garbage disposal is super easy. I just did it two weeks ago. I didn’t change the drain part out to keep the brand all the same, but the electric is simple enough: power, neutral(return) and ground.
You can do it!
My dad was literally just talked to me about wanting to do this kind of project!!! Are you psychic?? Amazing!
What a coincidence😂
Hey handsome! Great job 👏🏽 Can we get a gardening video. I am loving that yard!!!!!!
Thank you Alicia. My wife is the gardener, but she is camera shy. 😃
my dad its still own alive because im 10 year old im crying because they people that dont haves their dad alive :,(
My dad left when I was 3 months, life wasn’t easy and even though I had some male figures in my life, they didn’t teach me any of these things. I had to learn how to do them myself. I’m 22 now and have learned a lot and I’m really proud to see someone teaching kids how to do things that they’ve never gotten the chance to learn how to do with their fathers
Watching the mixing is such good ASMR.. very soothing. Thanks Dad!
Hey dad. That's some advanced parenting you showing)
Hey Dad! Great Dad joke! I have learned so much from you. Thank you for stepping in. I lost my Dad when I was 19 years old. 40 years ago…even though you are younger than me…You are still teaching me new things. Such a comforting kind person. 👍🇨🇦😊
I seriously love your channel. 💜❤️🔥💜
I would have used the form upside down. Then turned it over onto cardboard for removal. No need to remove seams, just level it off. 💪🏼
Bless your beautiful heart!!!! THANK YOU Pops! I really needed this. I love learning how to DIY and my father passed away 19 years ago.
"Hey Kids" just never gets old
With my father recently passing, I really appreciate this man and his advice! I’m sure others can relate. RUclips Dad for the win❤️
Sending hugs!
My fiancé and I just bought our first house and this path will be perfect for our backyard! Thank you so much!
Also look into "tamping" tools to flatten and compress the ground under your pathway. I have one that is literally a flat piece of metal with a stick perpendicular to the shaft of the stick, you smack the ground with a big ol' square. This way it helps prevent the earth move, and if you use sand or gravel you can even out low and high spots for a more smooth path that lasts longer.
@@DamienDarksideBlog awesome tip, thank you!
Dad, would you consider using a mic? These outdoor videos are a bit hard to hear
My dad and I used this technique to create a border around my stepmom's shade garden. He promised me ice cream if I would help him out. That was over twenty years ago and my dad still treats me to ice cream when I see him. "Thanks for your hard work, Kid." It's kind of our inside joke nowadays, and a great excuse to get ice cream! :)
We need to get this man a Mic!
Good sponsor for doing concrete work lol
Can you please do a video on how to pressure wash a patio or house siding?
Now I know how to surprise my old folks with a new path, thank you 🌟
Wow… it’s like you’re peaking in on my Pinterest board! Thanks 😊
Good video. Actually, concrete and cement aren’t the same thing. A cement is something that binds materials together, so there is a cementing agent in concrete, along with concrete's other ingredients.
Thanks Dad! Way cool.
Ur the best. Thank u for this
Another great video!
Thanks for the encouragement 🙏🏻
Love this channel so much!!
Thank you Steph. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for doing this video...I've been wanting to do this for a long time!
In the uk I’ve put fairy liquid (dish soap) in the cement mix to make it abit more malleable not sure if anybody else does this but a brickie said it was a trade trick once 😂
Thanks for the great video! It's great to see more projects!!!
Love it
Perfect timing! We need a new path in our front yard. Thank you 😎💖
This is Brilliant!!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I love home improvement videos!!

I appreciate it :) I have no use now but if i ever need to, i have this knowledge to help me through this
Always happy to see your videos!
This is great...I'll have to look where you get a concrete mould. Also, love Lubriderm...Happy it's fragrance free:) Look forward to the video.
I was actually planning to do a cement path in my backyard but had no idea how to do it, thanks again!😅🇫🇮
Sou Brasileiro e achei incrível e linda a sua ideia ! Parabéns!
Ganhou um inscrito!
Thanks, Dad! I feel like this is definitely one of the easier home projects to do since cement is really only two ingredients (after you buy the mix that is). I didn't know they sold molds like that though. Good to know!
Exactly the video i was looking for! My dad is a fantastic farmer... so I'll borrow you for my cement pathway!
I love how many people you help through your videos. Myself included. Thank you 🙏
where do you dump the cement water? i imagine that might not be good for the grass.
I love this chanel 😍😍😍 thanks 😍 a dougther from mexico coahuila
Thank you !!!! I was a daddy girl, people use to call me his shadow, fixing cars and stuff !!! before he left with the secretary when I was 14 and never called back... I'm 35 now and you have no idea how much I appreciate your video
Great video but if I can add just ONE thing more that I found out the hard way. When you're going to be mixing multiple bags, or doing this over severial days, wear a dust mask and even some safety glasses if it's windy outside. Concrete dust can get REALLY irritating to your sinuses and lungs (especially if you have a pre existing issue), and is NOT fun to get in your eyes (and splashes sometimes happen).
I'm so excited for this video! I'm planning on making a new path and this was perfectly timed
I'm Brazilian, and I don't understand anything you say. But your initiative is very good. Some sources here in Brazil commented that you help young people who didn't grow up with a father figure, so I came looking to see if it was true. I would love to hear your tips, but I don't master your language. It's a shame, because there are a lot of things I don't know that I wasn't taught. I grew up with my mother, so I don't know much. Anyway, I admire your initiative. God bless you.
Did someone else type this for you? If not, your English is perfect.

So what do you do with the clean up water? I’m guessing We just throw it down the grass? But doesn’t it have cement on it….that would be bad right??? Sorry I’m not very savvy.
I've learned so much from you! Can u explain how to set up a (fence) post to enclose a backyard . Thanx Dad 💖
To chime in as an expert... concrete is the combination of cement and stones, so using the terms interchangeably would be like calling cardboard "glue"... pretty far from correct.
Another name for a thick milkshake around where I live is a Concrete. Culver's Concrete's are delicious!
Hey dad, how are you? I’m good I guess. I mean this is the first time I’ve spoken to you in my 21 years of life, so yeah, but I just wanted to tell you that I’m going through a rough time right now. I mean it was alright hard growing up without you. I know how to be a man and all but my mama didn’t really tell me how to get over the pain I have inside. I wouldn’t call it depression but I’m currently married, been married for a year now and my wife told me that she doesn’t really like being around me and she’s kinda wants a divorce… I don’t know why but I’ve tried talking with her but it just ends up in a fight and she’s told me this once but it was a while ago and she said she was sorry but I think she really means it now… she’s been hanging out with someone else annnnnd I just don’t know what to do. I love her very much but it’s hard to love someone and not have them love me back. I’m work a job that give me a lot of hours. Annnnd I haven’t heard someone that they are proud of me and telling me to keep fighting in… I don’t remember the last time. So if I can get a good job buddy… or maybe a phone call… text… anything would be nice. Alright take care dad. Bye
Hey Dad, Nice to see you! Thanks for posting. Lovely sidewalk. Stay safe everyone. v
What kind of flowers are those behind you and why do some folks say that I shouldn't plant flowers so close to the house foundation? Thanx again, Dad and ma God bless you. 💖
Dad, should I still put the meat I left out overnight back in the fridge?
Please do a how to refresh(paint) an old mailbox that has chipped paint. Thank you
Im from morocco and I just love the concept and watching every video and I just wanna tell you that you such a beautiful person
Hands down this is the best RUclips channel on Earth.
Me encanta! Muchas gracias por compartirnos tu conocimiento, saludos de México!!
HEY dad, I have following your channel since my dad died in 2019. My mom is getting married. I still will follow up with you and watch you videos but I will have a dad.
The things you have taught me since I was 7 was amazing, your a wonderful person and I wish the best for you and your family.
Farewell dad,
Watched my husband mix concrete for a shed foundation to pour in and around concrete blocks and he did it exactly the same way! We might make a concrete walkway next. Thank you. Wonderful tutorial!
Cement and concrete are not the same thing. Cement is an ingredient; concrete is the finished product. Much like flour is an ingredient in bread.
I can’t wait to do this when I get to move back to my house if it gets rebuilt.
Dad, love this video but I wish you would share how to actually lay it in an area. What needs to be done or do you just drop it in.
Can you make a video on trimming your garden?
The stencil makes a concrete path look so much better that just a long gray path. I like the "nature stone" walkways, as well 👍
Don’t breathe the dust, bad for your lungs
Thank you so much for this video! My Dad passed away when I was 26 years old and taught me a LOT of things, but there are these kinds of bigger projects I just don't have the knowledge. So, thank you for this! I was wondering, what kind of base should I use when making a cement path? Do you suggest any kind of paver base or sand, etc.?
look easy
like a bake a cake :)
thanks for sharing
Thank you. I have always wondered about that mold. Beautiful pathway.
You are marvelous and so helpful!
Yes! I was hoping to do some work in my new yard next year. First time home owner here, This video will be perfect. I want to do a little stone path just like this.
Hey dad, how do i prevent weeds from taking over my garden?
I work almost every day and have little time to take care of my garden besides mowing once a week and a little bit of weeding.
But my flower beds keep filling with weeds that grow very fast
Thank you! I will use this 👍
No granular underneath it?
alot of kids grew up without a dad
Dad, is it ok to pour new concrete on top of old concrete? I'm trying to fix some concrete stairs that I can't remove the old from, it's not feasible. But want to fix the crumbling areas all over it.
👍👍
I would try it if I had a garden :)
:)
He's back on my feed :D yay :D
I can’t watch it without tears
