- The film that established Terry Gilliam as more than just Monty Python’s resident animator, this delightfully inventive children’s fantasy is about young Kevin (Craig Warnock) who finds himself travelling through holes in the space-time continuum in the company of half a dozen fractious dwarfs.
Along the way, he encounters Agamemnon (Sean Connery), Robin Hood (John Cleese), Napoleon (Ian Holm) and winds up as a passenger on the Titanic, although not necessarily in that order. But is this just random entertainment laid on for history fan Kevin’s benefit, or part of a wider struggle between the forces of Good (Ralph Richardson) and Evil (David Warner)?
This is a rare example of an independent British film taking on American blockbusters. Now, it’s a much-loved fantasy classic bursting with inspired images and ideas: Gilliam and co-writer Michael Palin (who also appears) are clearly enjoying themselves as much as their audience.

Amazing. Loved the movie as a kid though there was quite a bit of it I couldn't understand until I was older. Now I cheerish it like no one's business.
This is a fantastic edit for a modern trailer but not crediting any of the original Little actors is a major insult
I agree but I think they were going for names that people know like John Cleese and Shelly Duvall, still they are the main characters and they should get top billing in any trailer, but arrow has none of that obligation

Made my parents watch this everyday for years. From when i qas a yoddker all gbe way up to my tenth birthday. Absolute classic! Cant ever be remade, there is literally no point.

Our family just finished the series and loved it! Except the final ending...hopefully there will be a season 2. The jokes were wonky and there were references to Monty Python and other shows. It was an all around refreshing and fun time! --- Sure, we enjoyed the original movie but this was a fun and different ride as well! 😊😊😊

I think.... Time bandits is probably Terry Gilliam's best movie. Maybe baron munchausen. Can't decide. Maybe twelve monkeys. Maybe Brazil. Cant decide. He is for me definitively the best filmmaker out of the pythons and probably the most talented overall.
A true classic.

I first watched this at school, in the early eighties. Got this on DVD. 9.8/10. To anyone who hasn’t seen it, watch this. It’s better than the 2024 🐶 💩 version.

I love the old Babymetal albums but they'd be doing Su-Metal a favor by reworking the songs to suit her vocal range. She's an adult trying to sing in the range of a 14 year old and it shows. Great performance though.

This trailer's music does not fit the movie and its atmosphere. (Imagine, normally a Gustav Malher's Symphony is played during the Italy Napoleon scene...) Time Bandits is a Monty Python movie, not a Hollywoodian block buster. [This trailer is limit dishonest.] Anyway, I own this Blu-Ray edition from Arrow, and this is the BEST video version you can find of this WONDERFUL movie. [This Cat has watched Time Bandits at least 30 times during his 9 lives.] 🐱
At least this trailer better respects the movie than the original trailers they had when the movie came out in the US.

I like the movie, not the music during this advertisement about the movie.
I forgot this movie existed until Apple TV showed a trailer for a show. New one looks horrible compared to this.

@@Jon_from_LI The traits of masculinity is and have always pushed society forwards. It's a good thing to teach to children from an early age. This is why it's so important to have a father figure in your life and has statistically been proven to be absolutely trivial, even for women.
Social norms are deeply connected to our biology. When these norms gets scrambled and/or ignored, it leads to a weaker, non-logical society that eventually will be crushed by outside forces or within. This is one of the few reasons why Rome fell.
