    Remember some Falcos have a longer filter (3.75" [9.5cm] Hiflofiltro HF564), you can tell as the metal filter cap sticks out further than this example.

      You deserve a lot more views compared to other similar videos. However, I have a question, I notice you do not remove the black hose to clean the strainer. It is not necessary according to you?

    • @MidlandCruiser
      @MidlandCruiser  3 года назад +1

      Thank you. I don't think it's necessary to do every year to be honest. If you use good quality oil and filter that strainer should be ok for many years. Also it is very coarse so it is usually clean anyway. If you have an oil flow problem from the tank (meaning if you rev the bike and the oil level doesn't drop quickly) you might want to check it👍

      Pretty much yes as it is the same engine. Check which oil filter you need as there is a long and a short version available...

    Hello MC!!! I'm a Spanish owner fo a 2003 Falco SL 1000 and I would like to know which hidraulic cylinder clutch command did you put in your ex Tuono.
    I have put a CNC one and it works better than the original one but it feels a little bit hard already. Thank you in advance and congratulations for your videos.

      Hello Miguel. The one I used is called Factory Racing, but just checked thier website and they don't list it anymore for Aprilia, only for Ducati. The other option was the Oberon which came down in price since I upgraded it. I put a link for you here so you can have a look. Mine felt ok with the Factory Racing, only city stop-start traffic was a bit hard. People say the Oberon is really good and fairly light to pull, never tried one because years ago was a lot mor expensive than now.. You'll find loads of information on the apriliaforum about this. Hope this helps

      @@MidlandCruiser Thank you for your quick reply!!! And it's been so useful for me. For instance Did you do something about becoming black the cluch hydraulic liquid or it is normal because the high temperature???
      I have put motul competition rbf 660 and it has become black again. Thank you MC!!!

      Now this is a frequently asked topic on the Aprilia forum. No one seems to know why exactly it goes black, some people have good result by changing the slave cylinder, others only swap fluid and it works. The heat shouldn't cause anything like that, because it doesn't goes black in the brake system where there is a lot more heat. I think it is caused by the degradation of the rubber hose, and/or the clutch master cylinder seal, or the slave cylinder seal. I only changed the slave cylinder and was still going black after a short time. Never got round to swap out the rest of the system unfortunately, so can't say if it would work or not. Hope this helps 😉🔧👍

      @@MidlandCruiser I changed both, so I should assume that it is normal. Thank you for your patience. best regards.

    Is it bad to do the oil change without starting it? My bike has been out of commission and I want to change the oil before I start it all up

    • @MidlandCruiser
      @MidlandCruiser  4 года назад +2

      It is always advisable to warm up the oil before changing it... Its not a problem if you take it to a shop because you are already riding there.
      To do it home even if it was sitting for a year for example I would start it and get the oil to flow around and warm up the engine until the cooling fan kicks in at least once. This way the oil will flow out easier and will carry out any settled dirt with it... It should be ok to start it, and wouldn't say it's bad by not doing so, but I think it's better warm it up, and then doing the oil change... Hope this helps😉👍
