The issue between Heyman and Lawler was not just because Heyman refused to take a bump. He had been asked if he would do it weeks beforehand, and assured Lawler that it was no problem. Then when it came time to take the bump off the scaffold, he chickened out. When they got backstage, Lawler punched him in the face and broke his jaw.

My classmates were talking about how violent, bloody, and real it was compared to the other two. But it came on early in the morning like at 1 or 2 am or something like that at the time. When I was able to finally watch it, it was more than I could have imagined. You omitted the part during the debate where Heyman said something to the effect of “how’s the action on the swing sets, Jerry?” making reference to Lawler’s rape allegations a couple of years prior. I remember hearing that and I was like “wow, is this a shoot?”

ECW is the reason im still a fan today !!! Ive watched since 86 , but by 93 i could barely stand what i had loved so much before . Old habits die hard and i picked up an Apter mag for old times sake . Saw a few things about ECW that intriged me. Then saw an order form to by their tapes . Ordered two . I see all this insanity ! SAbu vs Cactus , Sandman being blinded , Public Enemy throwing folks through 2 tables stacked ! You didnt see ANYONE breaking tables back then . Eddie vs Malenko , 2 cold Scorpio ! plus so much more ! I was hooked !!! Not sure if that was a blessing or a curse they brought me back in !! LOL !
