- AMAZING! First time playing this song live! First show of the Satch/Vai tour. Live at the Hard Rock Live, Orlando, Florida 3/22/2024. #SatchVai #TheSeaOfEmotionPt1 #JoeSatriani #SteveVai
Amazing duet!!! Great interview by Rick Beato as well. Two extra ordinary talents.
Beato knoweth
Right just saw the interview, the official Vid for that song
is great as welll !!!! Fully 70s ! Love it ! And Brian Beller on bass is so great !
Killer song!
Man, I hope we get a full album of this. Sounds amazing! Satch is such an incredibly talented and kind dude. Vai is next level. So cool.
Wow - they sound great together! Real true synergy with these guys.
Amazing! Finally!!! Love it!!! More, more,.more!!!
Absolutely brilliant! They're so ridiculously tight together too. It just flows effortlessly.
Among the best in are time, enjoy.😊
Bro, so cool song by these two legends! \m/
Hey this brought me Joy. TY for sharing
I remember having a Guitar World magazine back in the early 90’s with both Satch & Vai on the cover. I must have read that interview with the both of them dozens of times and they talked about the “Sea of Emotion” how it was this place in Long Island where they would hang out as kids. They talked about how it would be a good song name and how they should write something about it someday.
Took about thirty years to get there but I’m glad it’s finally happening!!
Great song!
Wow! What a great story, thanks!
Had the same one, 1990 after Flying in a Blue Dream was released, and right before Passion and Warfare. Yes, they mentioned the Sea of Emotion, and talked of doing something together one day in the future when they got old - "Geezers on Parade" is how one of them phrased it. Truly about time for this. My only request, all due mountains of respect to Kenny and Bryan, was I always wanted Stu Hamm (mutual connection to both of them) and perhaps Jonathan Mover or Chris Frazier on drums to back them up. Also, wish they would team up on a few of each other's tunes (how about Joe being the second guitar on The Crying Machine, and Steve doubling Joe on something like Crystal Planet??) in addition to their shared new material. Regardless, so looking forward to the new material, whenever it gets fully released!
@@BrianH020 I just don't wanna hear anything from the keyboard player. Listening to some rando sing is not why I go to a Joe show.
@@Billkwando Pardon me? I didn't mention anything about a keyboard player, just who my dream rhythm section behind them would be.
@@BrianH020 Yes, my dream rhythm section would include Stu too, just minus the other guy singing. 🤪🤪
Stu's first 2 albums were fantastic.
Satch's playing is so smooth and beautifully crafted. It's like watching Roger Federer play tennis.
Both of them so humble for being among the greatest guitar soloists, dare I say ever?
I had a meet and greet with Joe and he is a humble bumble for sure 👍🏻 I have had the privilege to see him perform several times and was always flawless…other that one tour when he was glueing his cut on his finger I heard 😮he was almost perfect that time lol 😆 as a guitarist who works outdoors and sometimes my fingers have cuts that won’t heal I can relate . ☮️🎸🎶
The goats for sure
Top 20 not 10
Absolutely CORRECT 🎸🎸
No....they are the greatest lol
i was there! In the balcony! It was also the first time seeing my two guitar heroes in person! I was blown away!
thats magical! i watched them talk to beato today, never heard a song by either. i get why they have their reputation now!
I saw the G3 reunion in February. It was my first time seeing Satch/Vai & Eric Johnson live. I’ve been a fan since the 80s of all 3. It was magical. ✨🎸🎸🎸
They are both always a pleasure to listen to
Bryan Beller on Bass! ❤ Aristocrats go!
Amen!
That's right! I don't know who the two other guys are lol.
@@michaelheller8841 surely we all know Stece and Joe. But Bryan is absolutely underrated here although he plays in Dethklok (with Brandon Small) and Aristocrats (with Guthrie Govan).
@@Megalomaniac2005 I have grown up knowing Joe and Steve and seen them live, almost everyone knows them. I was being silly. That all said, Bryan is Fantastic with the Aristocrats and I was happy to see him and I'm sure he loved playing with them. Bryan should be a household name if you ask me, he's that damn good.
I'm a drummer by trade, but also a guitar wannabe for decades. I have always found it hugely inspirational that these two giants are such close friends dating back to childhood, and have such immense respect for each other. They're not the first such friends to team up (Clapton and Harrison, Clapton and Beck come to mind quickly, I know there are others), but I think they might be the pair that has teamed up the most (going back to at least the mid 80s with some of the bootleg videos of them jamming on Satch Boogie and others). And I do recall Steve showing up at Joe's 60th birthday in what sure looked like a genuine surprise for his close friend. There might be some hot shots that can play faster than them nowadays, but they sometimes have no feel or a human element to their fretboard gymnastics. Ever since I first became aware of them right around Eat em and Smile and Surfing, respectfully, I've always found that inspiration in their music...
I had the privledge of being at the show. As hard as it was to break away from the responsibilities of day to day life, I am glad I made the time. It would have been a travesty not to see the two of them together, particuarily playing music they co-wrote
Me too. Six rows back. Amazing
The two best instrumental guitarists in the world!
Nothing beats teacher and student. Imagine paul gilbert and buckethead playing together in the same stage.
I have this video on Loop and have been playing it for a couple of hours. It is so awesome seeing Joe and Steve having such a great time. I can't tell who is having more fun. Their vibe is definitely contagious.
Good idea👍👍
Been waiting for Decades to get a collab here!!! It does not disappoint!!!! PLEASE A FULL ALBUM IS NEEDED
I read there will be 3 parts to Sea of Emotion. Joe wrote part I & II, Steve wrote part III. Hold on to your hat… when they were kids, when Satch was giving Vai lessons at his house, Joe recorded them jamming on a reel to reel tape, then gave the tape to Steve to take home and listen to as part of the lesson, and never gave the tape another thought. Steve saved the tape, digitized it, and part III begins with the music recorded on that tape!! 😃 I can’t wait to hear it!!! I’m hoping this means we’ll get an album.
No ego chasing just the love of the craft 🎸
Thank you for sharing ❤
So good! I love the composition!
Being fans of both... It's such a pleasure to listen to 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you!!!
"brothers of Iron"..seems.like.Satch.More Active The strings he's the boss.... fantastic "😊duo at dawn"

OMG... It is stunning
Loved it, thanks for recording this!
These guys are legends❤
Steve took lessons from Joe
Got tickets to see these two on May 8, 2024 in SLC Utah. Can hardly wait! ❤
My face has melted. I just love that slow gringing rock with 2 guitars and a bass.
Song starts right at 4:00. Thank you so much for putting this together guys! Can’t wait to see you in Denver!
The Jordan & Kobe of
Electric Guitarist Virtuosity!!!!
Doesn't Get Any Better❤
Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan
Farley and Spade?😅
Messi & Ronaldo?!
McGrath & Warne?
Watched these two for 40 years. Amazing friendship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But there is a reason Joe was the teacher of many...
God damn this was Awesome plus having the great Bryan Beller on bass? Purely fabulous!
Amen!
Beller trabajando con puro Dios!
Who are these guys next to Brian Beller?
Some guys called Joe and Steve.
One is Kenny Aronoff & how the hell he got this gig is a mystery as he's the most simplistic of any drummer G3 & G4 had.
@@paullevine1813He's also one of the most dependable drummers anyone could ask for. He's not out to show off his chops or flash (though there's an 'implied' depth to his playing that one can hear going all the way back to his John Cougar days, it's just not on full display most of the time), he's there to be the foundation for these guys to do their thing. I guarantee you they have zero concerns about the tempo and groove on any given song knowing Kenny is on the job. There's a reason he's been one of the most in demand drummers for the past 40+ years, and he has played with Joe with both Chickenfoot and Joe's last two albums (and if I remember right, the Experience Hendrix tour also). And playing your instrument is just a part of the package, Steve himself has said as much many times. How you are as a person and the hang outside the actual gig count as much if not more than your given instrument proficiency. Kenny is an absolute pro in all aspects...
@@paullevine1813 im a drummer and aware how much KA gets around, he must be a combination of easy to work with, shows up prepared, a nice guy and can keep time but as far as chops go he's not someone I ever come away thinking he was amazing.
@@w4tknYes I liked Jeff Campitelle on those early records he did with Satch and got to see him years ago and he's every bit as good as this guy if not certainly better. His kit is bigger with that huge kick drum that just fills the air with his sound and I'm not getting that with this guy . JOE BRING JEFF CAMPITELLE BACK PLEASE!
My guitar heros from the early 80's The trade off is so smooth 🎸🎸🤘
Epic! Thanks for posting
Awesome Song!!!
Wow, but that a Joe solo... Ultra coool!!!
man, I so hope they put out an album of all the music they've written together. That would be like musical heaven.
anyone notice the new amps satch is using??? I take it these are the prototype amps he spoke about for the Sammy tour?
This was so beautiful last night!
This tune gives me the same feelings that Joe's first albums beginning in the 80's gave me. Great song and Steve works it perfectly. Happy they both lived long enough to do this. Keep on Rock'n boys!
Literally always gives me goosebumps!! Hell yea!! best duo ever!!!!!!
Man, I need a 24-fret guitar… and skill. I REALLY need skillz…
What a great collaboration! You guys go! (And darn it, I wish I wasn’t going to be out of town when you come to Minneapolis! ARGH!
I was supposed to see Satch there a year ago but that storm which never happened Nichole screwed it up. I had great seats 3rd row!!!
Shit! There certainly is some true talent up on that stage! What's not to love 🤟🏻😎
was an Awesome show!
I will hope that they can make time for a tour! 137 years and 12 strings must be celebrated soon! 🎯
I don't know why have I got so misty-eyed as I begun to listen to this Sea of Emotion. Anyone can tell me???❤🙌🏼🤘🏼
Allergies. I hope you have insurance. My doctor told me it's quite common to get chills, goosebumps and watery eyes from good music and put me on desensitization following some tours around. No improvement whatsoever yet.
Absolutely legendary. This song is so good. 🔥 🤘
The Namaste 🙏 at the start is so special , they are brothers for Life.
I can't wait going to see them this Sundays April 7th 2024. I've been wanting to see Joe and since I was in my early teens when surfing with the alien came out. My wife bought us tickets as a Christmas present to me and we just realized it includes the meet and greet 😊 what a woman ❤️
I’ll be at the meet and greet too!!
It's awesome when the lady in your life shares your passion for great tunes / artists!! My Girl of 16 years surprised me with tickets to see original G3 Live lineup just this past February in Reno, Nevada!! GREAT night 🎉💯😎💥⚡⭐
Was supposed to in Charleston on mar 29th but sadly couldn't go ...😢 but I've seen vai and sat multiple times being 34 now. They come here so they will be back 😅.
What on earth are those amps behind Joe? Not the Marshall to the far left, but the middle one and far right one.
3rd Power Amplification he is using and designed with Dylana Scott Who is the head of 3rd Power Amps. They sound amazing. Thats what he’s using for this tour and for the Sammy EVH stuff. The Marshall is for guest guitarist jamming etc
3P amps are amazing
@@RobBalducci thanks for that pal. Any idea what model or has he gone custom?
Its a Satch signature 3rd power is doing. I’m not sure of the model name yet
@@RobBalducci do you think this is a one time amp for the vanhalen/hagar shows or a long term thing since Marshall stopped offering the JVM Satch model?
Love you Satch and Vai. Saved by your music one more time! :)
Seriously, can it get any better than this?!!!!!
Thank you Joe & Steve!
Amazing!!🎉
Besides Eddie - are there any two guitarists that play - and I mean play as well? Holy shite!
Soundman needs to bring Steve's guitar up a little bit
Wow....thx for posting this.....going to see this tour in Chicago in April....pumped!
Bravo joe et steve magnifique duo ! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
As a Japanese person, I have never experienced anything more impressive than the scene where those two put their hands together like that.
Wait! Satriani is playig guitar and drums at the same time! How can that even be possible?
is it true there is teacher and student? They both looked same age.. I've wonder to know more about their story❤
great stuff as always, but why aren't the bassist and drummer ID'd in the heading?
Ripping !!! a downwind session on the “Sea of Emotion “ - can’t wait to see you guys and hear you rock Salt Lake City in May !!!! This is beautiful- the flow is really something, smooth and elegant !! thanks for the taste and posting this - You guys are the music of my life !!! 👏👏👏🎼🎸❤️💥🎸👍🙏
Two of the top reasons guitar grabs me by the short hairs and makes me play.
I see Beller back there!
I have seen Vai with DLR ( eat em and smile ) , Whitesnake and a solo tour. Even shook his hand when he ended a show and walked past me. I have never seen Satriani . I hope to see them both on tour. Would be phenomenal.
Whats more enjoyable then my two heroes playing together. LOVE IT
I bought there tickets for Kansas city coming up, i grew up on these guys and never have seen them, im 50 now so i getbto see them before were all too old lol.
Thanks to everyone for the awesome experience. GBG NO EDITS.
Been with Joe since the start during the MTV Headbangers Balls days. Same with Steve. Joe has been and always will be my all time #1 personal idol and I have been lucky enough to see Satch play 30+ times over all these decades. More importantly, I was truly honored to spend an hour+ with him in a totally random, non-musical setting of my personal NYC pool hall, Amsterdam Billiards West right after a show on the Crystal Planet tour. Joe AND the entire band....But that's a story for another day. Needless to say, it is 100% true - there has never been a single negative observation about Joe and his character throughout his entire career. Peers, gear manufacturers, press....Joe has always been described as the most humble human guitar god ever. TRUTH. And the same could be said for Steve and another Long Island NYC guy named John Petrucci.
Mind-melting, isn't it?
This song and the upcoming collaboration between Joe and Steve is something I and legions of other fans have been begging for for decades. I simply could not be more excited to hear the whole album.
The only thing I would have changed is this: have Joe solo over Steve's compositions and Steve solo over Joe's.
But I will gladly take this!!!

Hands down one of the very best songs I've ever heard.
Got to see both of these greats in the early days in bars and small venues in the early days and the G3 tour with Yngwie and those were the days!!! Got my tickets to see this show coming up next month in NJ and can't wait!!!
The master guitar, joe satriani
Барабанщик брат Сатриани ? Сильно похож !
Awesome, we need more !
Is that Kenny Aronoff there?
We need the album asap.
My favorite guitar masters ❤🎸🇵🇱
These guys do not need a singer !!
Trade off like nobody's business !?
Love it, thank you!!!!¡???!!!!?!!!!!!???¿?😁🇨🇦
The most perfect live guitar harmonies EVER!!! But would you expect anything less???
I was there! So awesome!!🎸❤️
I realize there’s no stopping this train, but it’s a bummer to see this kind of stuff posted on RUclips. It ruins the surprise for people getting to see them live soon, and it ruins the surprise for those waiting for an album. Again, there’s no stopping it and people aren’t forced to watch it, but it does certainly change the dynamic for the artist and potential audience. Just an interesting time we live in. It’s the new normal 🤷♂️
That said, it’s awesome to see them collaborating like this! 🤘
Having spent hundreds of hours listening to each of their music, being able to watch their entire concert won't remove any of the satisfaction for me. Maybe not everyone opinion.
You must have been right in front of me.
Leyendas vivientes estos dos grandes guitarristas!!
Thanks @ Up Close Joe appreciate the new video and amazing song
joe satriani the best tone n real 👍
If you got to listen to the first Rock Line Live with these 2, the kid that asked the first question of "How do you 2 feel you have influenced each other through the years?" was me. Got my tickets to the show!
With Kenny Aronoff on drums...awesome
Such a awesome track.......has so much flow, nice hooks. Can tell they both love this experience
Loved this. I think they dug out their old jams from back in the day and mixed them into a new track. As they are so great at writing these days they did a classic tune. I hope they do more together
Mr.Joe Satriani and Mr.Stevie Vai is my favorite guitar heroes. From Suseno Hadi Tirto.(Indonesia)
Kenny! Too
Watching them sharing a stage is always a joy. About damn time they wrote some songs together ❤
