    Fiddlestixs!!! I haven’t heard that since my grandmother died. I’m 70 so my grandmother was alive, grew up, in a time where language was was very important. Behavior for a woman was tightly controlled and she could actually loose her “value” if a woman used bad language. Also, my grandmother had never worn long pants or shorts. I finally talked her into a pair when she was 84 and it was a particularly nasty winter with 6 feet of snow and temperatures below zero.
    Ahh I’m sorry, fiddlestixs just started me on a path of nostalgia.

    Hello. i think i might have a tip for you. when removing the bead from the roller, give it a half turn the oposite way that you rolled the bead, then with your thumb of your rolling hand push the bead up the roller. i hope this helps. Thank you for the video.

    *I've started making beads recently and it's addicting. Most of the videos are from many years ago that I watched. Yours is the 2nd recent one I came across. I found it by looking for ideas & ways to use the beads I make. I tried many things & found the 1/8" dowl to be the best. Thank you for a nice share. 😊😊😊* Sharon in SC

    Thank you for your video, loved it. Can you please tell me, the bead roller your husband bought; can it be purchased at any hardware store and if I asked for it by this name would they know what I am talking about, I am very interested in making my own tools?

    • @FiddlestixAndStitches
      @FiddlestixAndStitches  2 года назад

      Yes! At any hardware store where tools are sold…. It’s actually called a bead roller and is a short metal tool with a slit all the way down the length of the piece… mine is put in a wood dowel… husband drilled the same size hole in the end of the dowel about 3/8 inch and glued the bead roller in the dowel..,❤️

      I forgot to mention that I also had lots of my sister's quilt magazines, I loved looking through them but when I moved out of state I had to give them up, I gave them to a thrift store. I wish I had come across your channel before. My family never understood why I wanted to keep them, all the possibilities a paper crafter sees 😑

      They are actually called bead rollers and are available in many sizes at any hardware store or place that sells tools… I got a dowel and cut it into six inch pieces and drilled a small hole in one end and glued the bead roller in…❤️

    I don't see how you get the bead off the roller without distorting it! It drives me crazy.

      I have a tendency to wrap too tight and I’m kinda sloppy with the glue but if you are careful and not too heavy handed the beads slide right off very easily…❤️
