Fellow Texan here. I love that top! The colors are great and the waves give it such personality. I'm working on crocheting plants! Just sold a Monstera, now doing an amigirumi sunflower!
No way! I was recently gifted a beautifully carved wooden... bowl? pot? and I immediately knew I had to fill it with crochet plants. I can't keep a real one alive for the life of me (or it).
Love the colour way that matches the style so well. You're adorable. I agree with the therapeutic nature of the rhythm in the repetition of crochet. So soothing!
Your niece is better at crochet than I am, by far! Just had to comment about the cloth beam on the ground. I have a collection of random old AVL parts, I'll put it on my list to check for an extra cloth storage drum. It requires digging in my craft closet, though, so it may take a bit!
I did the opposite of you: I’ve been in a crochet frenzy for a year but I just received an 8 shaft loom so I’m going to weave the summer away! Oh and also there is still a bit left of Tour de Fleece I participated in! So some spinning got me busy too! I absolutely love the pattern you chose to crochet it is on my list of gifts for my mom. It originated from another designer’s pattern (Janie Crow) and Justin Bieber wore one of her blankets recently. Many hugs and congrats on this amazing make
Thank you so much! Yes! The mystical lanterns blanket. I had no idea about the JB connection. Actually, I'm dressing my loom as we speak. It's a 16 shaft, but I'm about to weave plain weave on it😅. I hope you have a great time with your new 8 shaft. What kind is it? I've never participated in Tour de Fleece, I've always wanted to, though. Maybe next year!
@@darcyfabre that’s great news! 16 harnesses tastes like heaven I bet. My loom is an Ashford table loom since that’s already over the capacity limit of my place…. Blame European sized houses! Hope you’ll join in the fun next year! Hugs, Adrien
your niece is so talented what the heck 😭and the assembly of all the motifs is so cool. you should do a tutorial on something similar. also omg i'm dying 4:50 so cute. and the finished product! WOW i want one!!! i think the hem turned out great! i like the silhouette as it is since it gives off a more relaxed and cool look but cinched in the back would also be nice for a more form-fitted feel.
I KNOW. I'm so impressed by her. I'm really inspired now to learn to design garments (or whatever) myself so that I can go more in depth about the construction and assembly. U gonna pick up crochet again? Make matchy outfits for you and Maraschino?
I have about 40 inches left on my loom that i need to weave and i already have a new warp all measured and dyed so as soon as i finish, i will put the next one on the loom 🤩 And i want to start an easy crochet project to bring on vacation but i don't seem to find something that sparks joy🤔
Oh, I definitely understand that struggle! I was in a crochet rut for years because nothing ever felt right. Maybe make something as a gift for someone to relieve some of the "I don't really like this" barrier. And wow! I have never ever wound my next warp before finishing my last. What kind of dyeing do you do?
@@darcyfabre I think i found a market bag i want to try to crochet. If its ugly at least it'll have a purpose ahahah I mainly weave baby wraps and i troed to dye tencel and coton mostly ! I love flashy intense colors and to see the weft yarn interact with the warp 😇😍
@@alexiaboileau3297 Oh, a market bag is a great idea! I love baby wrap weaving--I don't do it, but I love dyeing and the warp/weft interaction as well. I've never worked with Tencel, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. I wove our groomsmen's pocket squares with bamboo rayon and it was a dream. It surprised me, it was stiff off the loom, but after washing it was silky smooth.
Wait a min did Darcy recorded a video outside of her room?! I started crocheting just to make my own cloths, still at a very basic level but hopefully I can be as good as u someday.
A Darcy video to accompany me while I crochet!! Yay!!
Happy crocheting!! What're you working on?
@@darcyfabre I'm making a hexagon-esque shirt pattern by Caroline Zushlag :D
@@buffienguyen ahhh! I've eyeballing that shirt pattern, too!

Thank you so much! Those colors are some of my favorites. Throw in a brick or terracotta color and it's *chef's kiss*

Hey! Thank you. I'm gonna message you on Instagram. Mine may not be broken, I just never got it to work!
That came out so well! Super cute and it looks super comfy as well.
Thank you!!

Oh my gosh I finally figured out who you reminded me of. You give me the exact same vibes as the host from The Art Assignment here on youtube !

Ah, yes! Out in wild--- my backyard. You've got this! I've been crocheting for 9 years and I haven't even started making my own patterns.
Oh this isn’t a tutorial 🥺😭
