First off there’s a reason, I am a home cook and one who likes to bake and, I started helping my mom in the kitchen since, I was a young child. But, my mom and other family that worked in the restaurant business. And, I can answer a majority of questions food related. If you listened to what she’s saying what she told you gave you the answer, and, you can see when, you watch, she’s using the bullion powder because you see she’s using it to help add flavor, therefore she’s using it as a seasoning, which is perfectly fine, when, you are using bullion as a broth, you mostly are flavoring your water, it will flavor your chicken as your chicken sets and, cooks in the broth but, that bullion flavor won’t be as pronounced on your chicken as you may want it to be. It’s perfectly fine to use bullion as seasoning and, yes, people do season their vegetables with it and use it to add flavor in breads and, all kinds of dishes, basic ingredients do serve more than one purpose, this is also how you learn to expand your Pilate/ Aka/ your taste buds!
I always think about how difficult it is to do this. Watch yourself in the kitchen and see if you could do it as well. I applaud anyone for trying. I feel you did a CB great job explaining everything. Looks yummy!!
Edit: it’s a half stick of butter. (Recipe calls for 1/2 cup but I used a 1/4 cup). I regret not using the broth from the chicken 😂. Also, I didn’t create this recipe or it’s name, folks. It’s good, try it. Or don’t. 😊
This reminds me of Bisquick chicken pot pie. I bet the Red Lobster 🦞 mix would be really good. It also would be really good to add one's favorite herbs like rosemary or sage in the mix.
I recently saw they make silicone liners. I am totally getting one. I have never had much luck with plastic disposable ones. But am excited about trying the silicone.
Looks amazing!! The only thing I could think to add would be diced potatoes, much like a chicken pot pie would have. First cool day Im going to try making this. Thanks for sharing.
I made this tonight after work. With Turkey. My FredMeyer did not have Cheddar Bay so I got Red Lobster Honey flavored biscuits. Used the packet but added the garlic/onion herbal etc in addition. It does seem like too much liquid. But Nooooo! It’s not! Turned out great great! We ate the best turkey pot pie(cobbler) ever at 1:00 am watching reruns of The Office. One thing…ovens differ. It took an extra 15 minutes for mine to golden up. So good!!
Not only does it look delish, it looks easy which is what I live for. Can't wait to try it, also a big fan of those CB biscuits from Red Lobster. YUMMY.
Interesting! I've been making a "chicken dumpling casserole" for years, but using Bisquik. I need to try the Red Lobster biscuit mix next time! Thanks for sharing.
I have limited mobility so this recipe was perfect for me. Fast and easy! The only thing I did differently was I didn't have real butter so I used margarine. I used the water I boil the chicken in with some better than bouillon roasted chicken to make the broth . Thank you for your clear easy instructions ! 😊
Excellent! I’m glad you liked it. My husband is legally blind and we have some limited mobility also. I hope you subscribe and join our little “community”! Welcome 🥰
Just add a good boxed liquid chicken stock or a better powdered bouillon like Maggis. The Wylers is msg and a lot of hydrolyzed stuff. Look at the label and it contains sugar. This is a tasty recipe
The best would be to strain those drippings in the crock pot and add a little water. You can also add the drippings to a pot of broth when making soup for a flavor boost.
I do very similar, but I put the butter on the bottom & the biscuit mix on top. It is a such a readily easy to alter recipe. TY for the upload. Y.U.M. =You Understand Meals😋 🎯😎🇺🇸
Same here. A pot pie dish definitely needs to have the soft veggies from a can. Never use anything else! I also like to add a can of drained and rinsed diced potatoes.
I have always done my chicken stew this way; then it makes a casserole, pot pie, or many other chicken dinners. Over biscuits or with pasta( Rotini nodles work best.) 1 day's effort will be "a break" anyone can appreciate! 👏✍🎯🗣👀
Where do I buy this tool for crushing chicken and other food??? What is it called??😊 Oh this recipe sounds and looks so yummy! I don’t have a crockpot. I’ve been thinking about getting one though because I kinda like to be able to have my food cooking while I’m doing other things because I’m getting to the point where I put something on the stove and the next thing I know something smells like it’s burning and I can’t figure out what it is and it’s the water boiled out of the eggs or something.😂 I do have a pressure cooker that I love so this would be perfect for tenderizing my meat since it’s all gonna go in the oven anyway😊
I would use the juices from the cooked chicken, left in the slow cooker, and add more water if needed, and some broth powder, too.... why waste the flavor in that cooking liquid? Maybe strain it, but hey.... just a thought!
Just a thought….as you were pouring the melted butter in, the mentioned that it was a 1/2 cup instead of a 1/2 stick! You can throw in a little verbiage just to acknowledge the error if you want! Looks delicious!!
Thank you for the recipe. I made a few adjustments and it turned out quite yummy. I added 4 eggs instead of 3 since my mix was a bit dry. Did 1/2 cup regular Quaker Oats and 1/2 cup of ground up Quaker Oats. I added a 1/2 cup Parmesan. I baked according to the video’s directions. I lined a baking sheet with parchment paper sprayed it with avocado oil , along with lightly on top of my dumpling/croquettes before baking. I baked for 30 min at 325 degrees, but ended up baking an extra 3 min to brown the tops a little more. My family enjoyed the recipe. 💕😋💕
Sounds delish! I have bisquick but not the Red Lobster mix. How much Bisquick? Is it 2 cups? Also, Red Lobster mix, I think, has cheese in it. What can I add to the Bisquick to make this substitution?
Yes, two cups. This recipe doesn’t use cheese. I would add some garlic salt to the bisquick since you won’t have the seasoning packet from the red lobster biscuits. Should turn out great!
OK, I have a very important question because I live in the Abruzzo region of Italy and I am absolutely not going to find red lobster cheddar biscuit mix in my grocery store. That ain’t happening. I have already figured out hacks to replace any sort of “Cream of” When I need to use that in a recipe unless my parents have just been here and have brought me a suitcase full of American groceries, but do you know or have you seen any hacks that can replace the red lobster cheddar biscuit mix in this recipe? I’m going to need one.
I see people using frozen chicken in crock pots but I’ve read it’s not safe due to the high bacteria count as it takes the chicken so long to defrost even though it does end up cooked.🤷♀️
I had a question bout elevation... At 50 minutes mine was not golden brown and looking like I need extra time... Do you have or is there a conversation chart for this?

I'm trying to figure out why you just made chicken broth with bullion when you had that real chicken broth in the crock pot. It looks good though.
I was asking myself the same question when I did the voice over 😂😂. I’ll know for next time.
I thought the same thing 😂
Where do you get the Wylers powder? I cannot find it in dayton, Ohio. I use to use it all the time. Works great when making gravies etc.

Looks yummy and easy. I would have mixed the broth and added to the water plus chicken powder.
I would add some diced onion or some chopped green onions to this recipe.

Yes this is chicken 🐔 pot pie bake and it is delicious 😋
Thyme would be good too!

That looks absolutely delicious. Thank you for putting the recipe on the screen so we can get a picture of it. That was Brilliant.
I like this recipe. Just the old chicken pot pie, square and with a new name. Still delicious like 200 years ago
Lol when I first heard about this just now actually, I was like that's a pot pie, but squared 😂
One of my favorite kitchen tools . No joke .
Just an FYI, they make great liners for your crockpot. It makes clean up so easy!

YUMMY YUMMY FOR MY TUMMY!
The biscuits call for 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and I added it. Really good.
I have this saved to my food videos so I can try it. Looks delicious!
It really is so so good!
1/2 a stick of butter is 1/4 cup a whole stick is 1/2 cup

What's ur chicken and dumpling recipe? Would love to make that
@@vickieswearingen2610 I'm in Texas so my mom made dumplings out of flour tortillas. She would cut them in squares.
Just curious about why you didn’t use the broth in the crockpot…seems like it had good seasoning 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Use those drippings from the crock pot for the bouillon!
I second this! I learned in culinary school that those drippings are flavor gold.
I would use any liquid leftover from cooking the chicken
me too...all that flavor would just be a great addition
That’s why she’s using the bullion as a seasoning, it will be more of a pronounced seasoning than just broth!

Can anyone tell me what that tool was to shred the chicken and where can I buy one? Looks delicious by the way.
Meat chopper. You can find them at Walmart or Amazon.
Looks like a chicken pot pie in a long pan to me. Basically the same ingredients of chicken pot pie. Looks delicious though.
Yes bt this is the #1 BEST chic pot pie I've ever ate bttr than any store bought!
So, I think I would try it by cutting the chicken broth back by 1/2 cup and adding 1/2 cup sour cream.
I've made it n it absorbs the broth.
It's a chic pot pie casserole. Store pot pies even got a lil liquid.
I made it but next time I’ll make the biscuit dough my top layer instead of the soup. I’d rather my topping be more of a crust.
I almost did that too but decided to stick to the recipe. Maybe next time.
I did that so the top would be more crunchy
I have made this a couple times, we like adding a can of diced potatoes
Great addition!

That just doesn't make sense, if it's heating the whole time. I think people just like to be difficult.
First comment is correct because the temperature doesn’t change quickly enough, giving bacteria a chance to grow.
I do it all the time and have never had a problem with it.
They say to cook froz chic on high bc of tht. I nvr have cooked froz chic in mine. I gta instant pot for tht.
I bet it would be a good way to use broccoli instead of peas and carrots to get a little more value out of the veggies!
"Some" Garlic power
"Some of this" Wylers chicken powder
"Some" onion powder
None of these are in the ingredient list. Brilliant!
Congratulations you made a variation of pot pie! You just changed the name. Lol

Looks like pot pie to me. Looks great
For a little change, make this with leftover turkey, substitute the chicken broth or bouillon, with vegetable broth.
We call this chicken pot pie where I’m from 😂
I'm almost kind of amazed that this went viral because it's just a pot pie in a square pan 😂
Salt bomb!
Why not just use the broth in the crock pot
Looks good. Pretty salty though.
I bet that's because of the Wyler's powder.... it's got 770 mg of sodium per teaspoon!!
