MY RECOMMENDED WOOL AND EQUIPMENT FROM AMAZON UK:
    **WIRE**
These are pipe cleaners I use in the video, the are slightly bendy and aren’t very strong, but if you twist them as I did they are strong enough for a fairly small felted sculpture.
Kids B Crafty 100 Chenille Craft Pipe Cleaners 29cm x 6mm Brown White Black Flesh And Grey: amzn.to/3jjew8F
The green wire is just Garden wire that I bought from Wilko, here in the UK, it was £2.50 for 30 metres and is 1.2mm wide. They also sell a galvanised garden wire 1.5mm x 20 meters for £1.75 which would also be suitable.
    **WOOL**
Jacob Carded Wool Batts - Core Wool (200 grams - Large), White: amzn.to/3nQK4RT
If you prefer to buy individual colours I recommend the following:
Heidifeathers Merino Roving Wool / Tops 25 grams: amzn.to/3xMq4o4
    Heidifeathers Merino Roving/Tops Wool 100 grams: amzn.to/3ykminh
    *** NEEDLES***:
36 Gauge (Thick or Heavy) Triangular Needle (pack 5) (Heidifeathers via Amazon): amzn.to/3DiMxwU
42 Gauge (Fine) Triangular Needle (pack 5) (Heidifeathers via Amazon): amzn.to/3Byh75n
40 Gauge (Medium Fine) Triangular Needle (pack 5) (Heidifeathers via Amazon): amzn.to/3bmO3mp
    ***FELTING MAT***:
Woolbuddy Needle Felting Pad/Mat Large (I recommend the white one but it is more expensive): amzn.to/3Oo7ASa
    **TOOLS**
Clover Pen Style Needle Felting Tool - Multi needle holder (3): amzn.to/3FyMgpF

I used to make a lot of things out of metal and wood which required me a lot of space and gear. It also was quite dirty and noisy. Now I live in a camper truck (thanks to the plandemic).
So, I'm new to this hobby, and as an old man on top of that.... It's just so relaxing. I already made quite a few animals and each one turns out better than the former. I love that thing as I can quickly make funny and beautiful little objects I can later offer to the people I love. In my learning journey, you are my favorite teacher out there. I love the information# the tone and humor as well. Thank you for sharing your art, really! 🥰 Greetings from Belgium !

If making a black cat should one use black core wool?

    • @juliesfeltedfriends
      @juliesfeltedfriends  10 месяцев назад

Thanks for the question, you can use black core wool if you have it, but you don't have to. In one of my other videos I make one of these wire armatures into a mostly black cat, by using white carded core wool and then coating it in black wool. The main reason for using core wool is usually core wool is a cheaper wool than dyed coloured wools, and if it's carded core wool will be easier to felt into shape, hope this helps. You can see me add wool this armature to make a cat here: ruclips.net/video/35sI8Yr3FKI/видео.html
