Thanks! I originally went the Uno route but couldn't get it to work on my Mac without errors. Save yourself some time and use the USBasp programmer!!! Even if I had a PC, I'd still go this route.
When loading with raspberry pi, what dows it mean when green light shuts off after the initial blinking activity? Does it think it finished loading the bootloader and shutdown? Or is it running out of power during the load trying to power itself and the ender 3 during the load? Running Pi Zero W
Using the Raspberry Pi method, after waiting "approximately 30 seconds", the ACT led keeps blinking 7 times in a loop. Should I keep waiting until all blinking stops? Or is the 7 blink loop a signal that the operation is complete?
Using an Arduino I got avrdude: Expected signature for ATmega1284P is 1E 97 05 Double check chip, or use -F to override this check. Failed chip erase: uploading error: exit status 1
I can not get the Uno method to work. I can not open the Com Port to send the bootloader to the Uno no matter which one I try. I have watched an easy half-dozen video tutorials with NO joy. I have uninstalled and re-installed ArduinoIDE multiple times.

At 5:27. What is the small blue adapter board on the end of the cable? I see the USBasp on the website but what is that small adapter?
When you purchase from us the usbasp it cames with that adaptor also
