Not many people know this, but the main character, Bojack Horseman is actually the same person as the horse from horsing around, shown in the flashbacks
1:21 I always assumed Bojack was a horse because of the old joke "Why the long face?" given the punchline usually involves a horse and alluded to depression. The world of personified animals was then built around it.
I thought it was about how Bojack was a "one trick pony" (I mean, yeah, he's a horse, but still...) and Horsin' Around was his only trick before his nosedive from grace.
bilinmeyen numara yea i think the name is a reference to her but i think sextina as a character is just making fun of like tha fame of underage oversexualized stars such as people from like musically and tik tok and so on
Idk why anyone would care about Diane having a Vietnamese voice actor. I love her voice. The whole point of being a voice actor is that your appearance has nothing to do with the characters you play.
I totally get that -- Aisha Tyler, a black actress, was the voice of Sarah Lynn's white mother. The concern in the case of Diane Nguyen/Alison Brie is that Asian main characters are so rarely represented in TV and film that it makes getting roles particularly difficult for Asian actors and actresses. So, when those few Asian main roles are given away to white actors (the implication being that being white is to lack an ethnicity and occupy a space of being "normal"), and I'm including those "American remakes" like Ghost in the Shell and Alita Battle Angel in this, it's going to leave a bitter taste. And animation isn't a real excuse.
@@rachelfox8108 well, it really shouldn't matter when it comes to voice acting. The voices of cartoon characters play a big role in the character's personality. Maybe no Asian Americans auditioned for the role, or maybe Alison Brie's voice was just the best fit for Diane's character. No one said animation is an excuse, but i don't see why anything about a person's appearance should matter when it comes to voicing a character, regardless of race, age, or gender.
I’m sure there are many qualified Vietnamese women who could voice Diane. Alison Brie does a great job, but seeing as how minorities are many times overlooked in the entertainment industry, it would be good to at least be inclusive when it comes to a character who is actually a minority themselves.
The people complaining about a white voice actress, are just racist against white people, and using the voice actress as a form to express their own bigotry. It doesn't matter what the voice actor looks like, it matters what they sound like. In the case of Diane, she was a fully americanized asian woman in the show, and it would be within reason to assume such a character would speak without an asian accent.
Did you seriously think that the fact it's an episodic T.V show would "surprise longtime fans" No way there's a story to Bojack? I really gotta rewatch that.
Even though humanized animorphic creatures are something that doesn't exist, Bojack has to be the show that is the most down to earth and based on reality show there ever was. I thought HIMYM took that spot, but then I saw Bojack and realized I was wrong. In reality people die. Sometimes of old age, and sometimes very young of poor choices. Sarah was sober for quite a while and itching for an excuse to fall off the wagon. Would she have died of a drug overdose without Bojack? Maybe, maybe not. But the fact of the matter is that Bojack was indeed the hammer that hit the final nail in the coffin and now Bojack has to live with that for the rest of his life and atone for his sins. I want to be an architect.
@@ComaAlpha I understand that, and another reason why she had to die was because they probably couldn't do much more with the character itself, which is the reason many characters are killed off shows.
