I truly believe this is how STP & Weiland would have sounded like had Weiland stayed sober throughout the years. I love Jeff Gutt, very thankful for him. Long live rock n roll. Deleo brothers are amazing. This song is hardcore, very early STP style.
People tend to forget that the instrumental core of STP is still there i.e. the DeLeo brothers and Kretz. Besides, if the band has to go on, Jeff is the next best alternative. Simple as that. Good luck guys. This band was the soundtrack to my teens and i'm glad that they will be around during my adulthood.
Yeah all these negative comments are a bit saddening. I think the new guy is a good fit. I suppose it's a similar situation to when AIC got a new singer

Well actually two similar situations, but the fact is that the album Black gives way to blue, it's one of the best return albums ever! Maybe only beat by ACDC Black in Back. This album is far from it... I really like some songs, this is one of them! but he still going to have prove a lot ... Duvall has been in the AIC for 10 years, even the most sceptic start accepting it, because the 3 albums kickass! Honestly, i'm glad they continued i'm curious to see what they do next, oh yes, we'll see!

Wish this song be a setlist regular. It's just such a fantastic song all around. Really love how thick & powerful Jeff's voice is on the chorus. Bass & guitars are crunchy as hell & Eric's drumming feels so energetic!

The bassline in this song is killer!!!! I didnt realise just how much Rob Deleo adds to the music, until I saw an interview with him on Rick Beato, discussing their albums. Which is when i started paying more attention to his parts. AMAZING! Such a great album.

Im so glad STP have found Jeff Gutt. HE suits them down to a T! Its like Weiland never left, IMO! Keep up the great work STP. Perdida is another killer album, with great playing, memorable songs.

Best song I've heard on this album so far. I think the vocal melodies have been lacking on the previous tracks, but this is pretty damn good.

I loved STP, but they weren't grunge. They were from L.A. and they came a little after that era and the Seattle grunge scene. Which changed my life and I'm grateful I was 17 when it [grunge] happened and I got to experience it at the time. It paved the way for STP and other bands. I'm also happy these guys are putting new stuff out. Peace.
The point is that they would have been undoubtedly classified as grunge without debate if they were from Seattle. And since music genres are more about sound and less about location, STP can be considered grunge.

I feel the singer is hitting all the notes, but not tapping into an emotional core. Really talented, but it feels as though it were nearly "phoned in". Hard to put into words. Respect, yes...but doesn't seem to have gravitas.
