ZF5HP24, Lower Front Valvebody

In this video, I swap out the valves from the lower front front half of a ZF5HP24 out of a Jaguar. I show a couple of tricks I do to make it easier to install the end plates once the valves are in place.

Gary ! Great Videos! Surprised your head isn't 4x bigger. You made everything look so so easy... I need a part for ZF5HP24 Valve body the section that normally seems the crack. Is that something I can call your shop for?

Hi Gary, Thanks for sharing the video. Having a hard downshift from 2nd to 1st gear as I am coming to a stop with my 2001 BMW 740i Sport w/109k miles after driving for about 30 mins. Never changed the transmission oil (on my to do list for spring). Started having this issue recently. Any suggestions on what it can be? Would resetting transmission adaptations help this issues in any way?

you could try adaptations, may or may not help, could be a valvebody issue, could be a problem with to much clearance in the clutch pack

Dear Gary! Thanks for your good information. I have a question regarding 5hp24 with 4-5 and 5-4 gears which has flickering shifts while driving at low rpm. If you had any type of problem like this, Please share with your knowledge.

Gary i have a year 1999 bmw 535 (zf 5hp 24) that drives impeccably apart from a harsh reverse engagement, i always wait until the engine rpm drop before engaging, reverse gear it does not slip once engaged and has 100k miles on it, do you think its more likely to be the pressure regulator bore or the f clutch drum at fault, many thanks in advance if you find time to reply

Thanks Gary. Very good tips for the assembly. Is the oversized replacement valve a standard aftermarket part? Or is custom machined as needed.
