Married to the Mob Trailer - An undercover FBI agent (Mathew Modine) falls in love with a recently widowed mafia wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) seeking to start her life over after her husband's murder.
MGM - 1988
Michelle Pfeiffer is underrated as an actress, in that, she's really a character actress trapped in the "leading lady" status. She brings depth and meaning to her characters humor, humanity. she tried hard to keep away from the stereotypical "blonde" roles and things worked out for her, very well.
Yeah she is wonderful character actress, far more talented than Liz Taylor ever was, more like Vivien Leigh. I have collected all of Michelle Pfeiffer films over the years from the very start of her career and what I am saying is true I have all of VIvien's too, Michelle is beautiful like Vivien but they both have an extraordinary quality they are powerful at expressing emotions and in the eyes( only very talented actors can truly act through their eyes) both have a rubber like face quality ,Michelle in Frankie and Johnny and Vivien In Waterloo Bridge,MIchelle was amazing in the Deep End of The Ocean, I thought she truly had a cardiac arrest in the lobby scene she goes into her roles so deeply.
As for people nagging about my Liz Taylor comment
I have seen all her movies (my mother is a fan of Liz )and each time I have seen her acting all I see is a highly painted expressionless face.
She was never in the realm of. Vivien Leigh,Maggie Smith, Natalie Wood,Cate Blanchette, Faye Dunaway,Tuesday Weld, Meryl Streep, Jessica Lange, Charlize Theron the list is endless and I reiterate she was never in the same class of actor as Michelle who I believe has been the most talented actress in America since 1983
I agree💯💯👍😊❤💛💚
Mercedes Rhuel should have been, at least, nominated for an Oscar. She's hysterical!!!!
Fox Flick She did win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, but it was for THE FISHER KING.
Dean Stockwell was nominated!
I used to raid my dad's VHS stash as a kid and this was one of my favorites. MIchelle Pfeiffer really shows her range in this, but Mercedes Reul was a riot!
Michelle Pfeiffer is drop dead gorgeous.
she looks like Minnie in party scene
Chris, I agree!............Michelle Pfeiffer at her all time most gorgeous!
@@volvos70t51 ....as Catwoman. Also, in Scarface.
S still very very hot now, I think she is way more sexier than Kim Kardashion 100% any day of the week
Witches of Eastwick
Jonathan Demme is such a great director. He gets the best out of his actors and gets them to amazing things on screen.
I agree. 4 Oscar wins (1 Best Actress, 2 Best Actors & 1 Best Supporting Actress) and got Anne Hathaway to give the best Performance of her career. Not to mention a Best Director Oscar and Best Picture Oscar.
He's a terrific Actors Director.
Rip Dehme.
Dean Stockwell should have won the Oscar!
Totally!
Hands down, my favorite 80s movie!
Michelle Pfeiffer is such a stunner 😍
Starring Matthew Modine from Pacific Heights, Michelle Pfeiffer from the new Batman movie as Catwoman, Dean Stockwell from Quantum Leap and Dune, and Alec Baldwin from Beetlejuice and The Hunt for the Red October.
Love Dean Stockwell.
Rest in Peace.
At the time Baldwin was the hot one but I honestly don't know if I could refuse a Tony the tiger 🐅🐯 roar
I love 80's movies 😃😃
I love this film it's so quirky and funny! Michelle Pfeiffer is ace in it a great and surprising performance from her! My favourite part you have to watch past the end credits for a really cute cut scene of Angela and Mike goofing around it's so sweet!
Married to the mob is very funny and should get more popularity.
After this film Dean Stockwell did Quantum Leap. The rest is TV history.
I'm rewatching q l right now rewatching mob half expect him to have his link with him .
New Order - Bizzare Love Triangle... Love that song!
WORSTDAYOFYOURLIFE that song transports me right back to the 80s.
q lazzarus and tom tom club is also on the soundtrack, among others. incredible. just learned of it.
Watching Now in 2020 again what a. GREAT Movie with Great actors & actresses! I love Michelle Phiffer she's gorgeous in everything she's played a Role in and love Dean Stockwell💛💚❤😊😂
Alas, no one can tell a satirical mob story QUITE the way the late, Jonathan Demme tells it. Despite the high drama and theatrics from this stellar cast, the movie (and its intentionally mocking depiction of the shear brutality of mob life), is not merely ornamental-but, RICH in COSMIC PORTENT!
Mr. Demme, whatever silver lining cloud that you lay upon to rest, please know that you and your brilliance on the big screen are loved-and, sorely missed!-like nothing and no one else!
To live in hearts that we leave behind is to not die...
Vintage Alec Baldwin
He’s an antique now 😂
Only saw this after quantum leap being rated r I was too young to saw without mom or dad
Saw tonight first time. Loved it!!!
This movie is a cross between the Godfather and Animal House
A horrible cross of the godfather more like a shitty kids version
I agree. I love that blend.
I started watching this movie on Amazon prime. I thought one of the characters was being played by Lorraine Bracco, but it was Nancy Travis.
I love Jonathan Demme's movies; Something Wild would rate second to this in my opinion, Married to the Mob was the best he ever made; clever script amazing acting and so bloody funny!!
Especially the end when TonI Russo- Dean Stockwell believes Connie Russo- Mercedes Ruel had blown his bollocks away!!
He frisks himself sighs with relief his jewels are still there .
Why does it say Alec Baldwin movie in the title? What an injustice to Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Modine.
Well who was the bigger star at the time? 🤔
Both Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Modine. Alec Baldwin was still only known in Knots Landing around that time.
Why did Mr. Conductor get to be dangerous as a bad egg instead of a good egg like Humpty Dumpty from Good Housekeeping Kids Sing Along Melody Magic in Toyland?
Great movie, at the time when there were actually great movie. RIP Dean Stockwell.
And omy gosh!! Was that Stephen King saying the 23rd Palms at the funeral?? 😂😂
It is a great movie.
Dean Stockwell yassss
много сладко филмче, само не мога да го намеря никъде да си го изтегля!

Yeah when a m*********** say my full name that's what they need to do to 😂
I look at these ladies in the q and wonder what does a semi normal life even feel like where u care for each other not picture perfect just normal no lies
Despite dean being in this movie it looks kinda cheesy lol
AceripXF I agree. I loved Mercedes and Dean and Michelle Pfeiffer. What messed it up for me was Michelle and Matthew Modine as a romantic couple. His character was cheesy as was their relationship. It made no sense and there was zero romantic chemistry between them.
@@pdoll96 And yet here you are lol.
Dean stockwell man , he's been a great actor since black and whites, notably in Compulsion and The Twilight Zone .
