  • If you are interested in LIDAR for gold prospecting please go to my website: theprospecting...
In this video I teach you how to make lidar maps for gold prospecting and metal detecting, from free programs and free data that is available online. Lidar is an incredibly powerful tool that lets you see the bare ground surface as if there was no vegetation. With it you can see the past mining activities such as shafts, adits, pits, trenches, tailing piles, diversions and more!
    Qgis downlowd: qgis.org/en/si...
    Saga gis download: sourceforge.ne...
Best site for free lidar data in the US: viewer.nationa...
Please know that there is more free lidar available out there its just not all located in one place. Some states and countries will have their own separate databases for it.

The national map has lots of LiDAR data for California. But the whole state isn’t covered yet and you can’t really download it all as one map of California. As far uploading LiDAR maps that you made to Gaia I don’t know. Each gps and app has their own requirements on file types size etc, and many don’t support the file type for LiDAR. The best app I’ve found so far for LiDAR is called CalTopo. It has Lidar layers built into if for the areas that have coverage.
