For the fans of Ralph Macchio - here's the excerpt where he's interviewed and talks about his young looks, his soon-to-be-born first child and his new movie "My Cousin Vinny".

When I was watching Cobra Kai I thought he was only in his 40s. I didn't realize he was almost 60. He's a vampire.

I think he look like he’s in his 40s now. In this interview he sounds like a teen looks like he’s in his 20s. But I might be a little biased as I also come from the family of young looking. I’m 36 and always get carded when I buy beer ´cause they think I’m under 18. My older sisters are like that too. My mom was like that too. She always looked 20 years younger than she was and then around the age of 65, she suddenly aged really quickly as though she went 40 to 65 in one year, so it was a shock. I’m already “looking forward” to that sick jump.

This is really freaky. His voice sounds like a perfect middle point of how he sounded in the original karate kid and how he sounds in cobra kai.
After this Ralph did another ABC TV movie called The Last P.O.W. which is a true Vietnam war story. In one scene he’s talking to Martin Sheen’s character who asks him where he’s from, and when he answered his voice cracked (prob because at that point his character had been brutalized in captivity). It was an interesting moment…

Andrea Gomez: it’s more that it throws you off for a second, since they look older than they did in the movies, so their voice is something your brain goes to to see if they are “actually them”.
I feel it’s more the facial features that give it away, like how in Cobra Kai you see Johnny’s Signature stare during the “You’re the best” montage from the original movie, and then Daniel’s shrug and look away when he sees Johnny in the restaurant during the date, that’s straight from when he checks out the Cobra Kai Dojo in the original for the first time and sees Johnny’s there too.
Remember audio recording is vastly different/improved now compared to back then. So his voice will sound different today regardless.
I read once in scientific magazine that people who look younger is not just because. On average, people who look younger live more years than people who don't.

He still has his accent but his voice changed sometime in the 90s and it now sounds higher so his accent seems less pronounced. Or maybe it’s just me. But yeah I miss his deep voice…it was so sexy (sigh)

He definitely lost his accent since this video, and his voice is much higher now. He did musicals in the ‘90s. That’s when his voice starting getting higher-like an octave higher than when he was in karate kid.
I agree. When I was watching cobra kai I always though something was off about the way he spoke. In the Karate Kid series he had a much stronger accent even in flashbacks you could hear how distinct it was. Now he has more of a generalised American accent. Which isn’t a bad thing but it’s changed a lot
