I like the way Jack says "Captain" when talking about Barbossa, because it hints at the reveal of Barbossa's mutiny later on, and also shows Jack's dismissive attitude towards him by mocking the fact that he did not earn that title nor the Black Pearl.

If it was riveted on the other hand (which would have to be a full-pin running the length of the hinge), then no dice. Half-pin hinges were much more quicker to produce and install, perfect if you needed some cells made to accommodate a sudden influx of prisoners. Only thing is there would rarely be a tool large enough in a cell for a prisoner to use even if they knew how to do it. Most furniture was bolted to the wall or not even remotely strong enough to use as a lever.

i wonder if they would make a new pirates of the Caribbean movie where jack sparrow visits a witch and she asks him he wants barrels of rum but be has to trade his voice so he sings his voice over to the witch and she gives him the potion but the witch tricked him he turns into a merman and he's unable to speak so he's swims to the black pearl and tries to speak to his crew but no sound comes out so he tries to speak again no sound he gave up and tries to find away to get his voice back from the witch and turn back into a human
