I find having Darkvision regular is more than enough to get through dark places, the High Elf Firebolt Cantrip gives you light but with the promise of also being able to do damage. (Enemies bathed in light from stuff burning around them from Firebolt gives the same advantage as having Dancing Lights cast) Add that to the fact you're trading Firebolt/Fleet of Foot for Dancing Lights and only 5 extra feet of Darkvision as a Drow and even Half Elves start looking better.
Female: Cleric of Lolth. Male: Wizard. It is the classes Drow favor in their society. There even is special interactions if yoy are a female Drow and meet the petrified Drow wizard in Underdark. And Minthara also respects you more.
Drow are the worst elf. Imagine sacrificing a useful cantrip or Fleet of Foot for 5 extra feet of Dark Vision and _Dancing Lights_ of all spells? You already got the superior Darkvision bro, Firebolt can light stuff up just fine.
@@attemptedunkindness3632 dude, eldritch blast is way better than fire bolt and I will have that as a warlock. FYI, only drow get superior dark vision, other elves don’t, also you get the amazing spell faerie fire and darkness. AND it’s also because drow are edgy and that’s fun lol
@@comradewarners I keep forgetting games parties can go up to lvl 3 lol. I've been playing a lot of multiplayer lately so it's basically "Rogue shuts down Grove 30 minutes in, game host rage quits server, reroll character" and yeah forgot you put warlock in your build so cantrips are not even up for discussion, have a great day sir.
For BG3 in particular I would always go 10 on strength for the rogue to use jumping to get places. I’m case you are playing range rogue there is a pretty good weapon which let you keep str at 8.
You should never go negative on strength with rogues. Your main strength is unparalleled battlefield mobility within your action economy. For example: 14 Strength and starting your movement with a jump adds a extra five feet which can be the difference between getting out of that attack's range or not, or getting to a elevation your enemy cannot reach. Strength is also a failsafe for when you occasionally fail unlocking that box or door, and shoving a target prone gives you advantage in combat-stripping your enemy's potions and scrolls before they can use them against you as well as making sure that sneak attack can go off even as you're facing them. You also should at least have at least a +1 for CHA because if you're not stealing as a Rogue, you're just playing a handicapped Fighter. But if you are playing as a rogue, you're not always going to 100% those pickpockets, so it's good to have a lie up your sleeve. Let your INT be the dumpstat, it's not like you're playing a Inquisitve/Mastermind Rogue. And if you're playing Arcane Trickster I just want to know who hurt you growing up.

I like the layout of the character creation / Editor screen very much - which MOD do you use for that or is it simply just on another platform and not for PC?
i'm glad to see a light skin drow even if it's bluish tinge. i never got the concept of black to dark skin drow. if they live in deep dark caves...they will evolve to be fair cause they dont need melanins! the darker a group of people's skin is, it's a result of them evolving from an area with intense light, hence more melanin production due to coping from having skin cancer lol i know it's in the lore that drows have dark skins, but it makes no sense to me logically lol so my drow is pale skinned too
The skin range varies differently but I believe originally it’s because Lloth blessed them to look like her, elves are fae so scientific evolution didn’t matter much. After all lore wise wood elves have greenish or brassy colored skin, eladrin exist, etc. I prefer the new aged more blue-ish toned drow where you can see blush on their face and such
You seems to have completely forgotten that we have strength and dex builds. Drow is a fine Dex Paladin, Fighter, Bard, Ranger. You are not a cat, no need to be stuck in a box...
I did exactly this on my first run and was having a blast... Went Lolth Drow Spore Druid... was planning on going evil necromancer route... however Act 1 was filled with druids... and spores... And their enemies were holding the Spider Queen's sacred children... soooo I went good... ish... Everyone worships me as a saviour... but is also probably terrified of me... Might be the fact that I tend to walk around as a 10 foot spider with 3 spiderling familiars (mine and allies familiars), 6 fungal husks (from class), 6 ghouls (special book)... as well as a vampire, a roided out devil and an alien from the future lmao People actually interact with the ghouls quite frequently... so much so that I tend to leave them outside more... civilized areas... people will either follow them and tell them to fuck off... or act terrified and run when they pass by lol
"So drill salsa" and "Harry is my total" absolutely killed me 😆 Thank you for this informative guide on how to build my very own Joe 😌

“Drill salsa.” 😂

Drow bard was my favorite combo in early access and I think that’s what my choice will be upon 1.0
Same combination I did in EA and I loved it!

I have zero regrets making my character warlock/fighter multiclass either !
My Honor Mode run was a Drow Draconic Sorcerer, Green and I focused on all the poison spells I could get. Her name was Hemlock.

Oh yeh, STR gives so much jumping range ! I like that and always feel badly with wizard (8 str) even with misty step teleports or jump spells
12 or even 14 str is great on dex rogues. Take expertise in Athletics and the pushes and jump distance is so nice.
