I'm so glad to have another Citizen Soldier song to listen to. I've been going through the hardest fight of my life with mental illness and I play your songs on repeat. Thank you for being here. Not just for me, but for all that are facing hardships.

I really want to be able to make music as good as there's but there's no point my family keeps dragging me down and making me feel like I'm worthless and I'm a child I'm freaking 21 god and they seem to just think I can't even make it on my own I just feel like ending it all and surrendering and just disappearing and stepping off a ledge tonight
"Fake it till you make it" "Just smile more." "Have you tried being happy?" "You're looking for reasons to be sad." "It's all in your head." "Why do you have to be so melodramatic?" Words I've heard over and over ad nauseum...
Oh and don't forget the "Stop being so dramatic"

That hit harder for me than any line in your songs have in a couple of months and every single one of them hits hard and seems to understand how I feel better than any person ever does. This whole song was amazing and I couldn’t find flaws in it; but that line was just pure perfection.

I used to tell therapist I've had in the past that with all the pain i feel every day its a miracle I'm still alive. All the ones I've had thus far have never taken those words seriously, all because I have too many goals and aspirations to be suicidal. I'm willing to bet its one of the biggest reasons therapy has yet to work for me. So yeah I couldn't agree more. That line hits the hardest.

@@xigya957 *nods and sighs* i was bullied in school and daycare to the point i was misdiagnosed with autism to stop my grandmother from trying to find out why was in the hallway during school lessons. last week, i tried to tell my new case worker that an older boy in daycare touched my breasts as a joke when i was starting to blossom but she didn't even want to hear about it and just told me to act like it didn't happen. i stumbled across this band and i'm hooked.
To my social worker, my therapists, my psychiatrist, my brothers, my sisters, my fathers, my previous friends, to the staff of the psych ward, to the prosecutor, to my public defender. You make me break, thanks for the hardest lesson, no one is trust worthy, no one.
It disgusts me and tears me apart to know how true it is.. Just keep your head on your shoulders. We're born alone. We truly live alone, and we all know we die alone. Take it easy, G. ❤

I’ve been told several times in my life that my depression is fake and for attention, even when I was hurting. I feel this deeply inside my heart thank you
I've been there especially when I told it to a "friend" it was a hard time as at that time my youngest sister had cancer (she beat it's ass) I closed myself off and did things I regret but just know it's not fake at all and that those who say otherwise are toxic people who should be cut o out ofyour life it possible

@@ARC-0606 there is people out there who do actually fake it to get attention though and people who say it’s not real or fake are people who has been lied to and taken advantage of those people so they’re not that toxic just victims themselves and they have trust issues I also has been a victim to one of those people who said if I don’t date them they will end there life but he wasn’t really going to do that he just tried to use it as a form of mental abuse there is two sides of the story and different points of view which sucks because the people who actually do fake it for attention is ruining the chances of people who actually suffer from it to get help
Some students have told me that I wasn't bullied back in elementary school... They weren't there so how do they know that I was or wasn't...
They said that I was faking being bullied before so that people would feel sorry and so people would more likely want to be my friend...
They didn't see when I was bullied for 4 years, they weren't there...
I came home everyday wishing to be a elementary school drop out or to just not be here anymore. The bullying was so bad that I'd pretend to be sick some days so I could stay home. There's even times where I tried to get sick so that I'd miss a day of school without having to fake it.
There were times I just wanted to disappear...
I never tried to hurt myself or kill myself because it'd only show that I was hurting....
I hid the pain from others because if I brought home what I felt at school I would feel as though home wasn't really the same safe place I knew... I'd feel so alone if I brought it home so I bottled it up and told no one after a while... My mom knew and couldn't do anything...
Everyone knew...
Eventually I found a escape..
On the last year of elementary school (4th grade) I found a dog who was neglected by his previous owners. He ran away looking for help.
I saved him and got him a better life, a better home, a friend who wouldn't give up on him no matter what.... Finding my dog was the best thing in my life...
He listened when no one else would..
He made me smile when I thought I couldn't...
He gave me hope...
After 4th grade the bullying stopped... I was happy..
It's been more than 7 years since then and I don't tell anyone that I used to be bullied anymore because they'd tell me that it's not true... I've changed so much since then... People just can't see me as someone who would be bullied at any point...
(Btw my dog died in 2019 due to old age in his sleep, he's the reason why I want to live my life. I had him for almost 7 full years. I also have not been bullied since I was in elementary school.)
For the amount of times I my parents told me "Smarten up and put a smile on your face", this song hits hard
Finally a song I can feel deeply. My family tells me to just be happy. That’s my depression isn’t real. That I should make friends, but I can’t because of my anxiety. This song I play on repeat.
I get you. my anxiety really holds me back and now I am lonely.
What triggers me is when they say to me “it’s a phase” or “just in one of his/her moods”. Yeah if it was that easy

Then one day I was sick, and said I could not go to school because I would have to run in gym which is not fun when you are sick the way she said "convenient for you" like I was lying really hurt I have all ways tried to be honest. I wish someone would understand.

This song made me cry because “you’d kill yourself to escape“ I have been fighting with a lot of stuff that has been too much for me which can put me down so easily and I have to fight it all alone I try to talk to my close friends on online but it feels like they don’t care about me….And when it says “raise denial to hide your scars” it just remembers me what I have done to myself plus try to be happy but i can’t feel it… but I won't get into my problem I don't want to ruin the song with my problems this song was great! I love the way the whole of the video truly deserves more views! You guys put hard work into it to make it understandable and explain how other people feels you guys did an excellent job on doing the video we love it is that right? Soldiers as well viewers,💜💜💜

You can't ruin the song with your problems, cause the purpose of the song is to speak your feelings out and help you regain some hope. So if you want to get into your problems and tell us then do so. No one here will laugh. We all have our share of problems, so don't worry.
At this point I'm just like: "Will they ever release something that doesn't hit hard?" Like this is just one other relatable masterpiece ya came up with. In all simplicity, you just, all the time, find the words thousands people can't express, and put millions of hidden and buried feelings into your lyrics. And I'm sure all of those that relate to them are grateful for that.

This hit me hard, because I've tried that exactly. I was having another bad day, and someone told me to just be happy. It broke me immediatly, I turned around, and started crying right away, before I even had a change to walk away.

I almost ended my life before I heard the Citizen Soldier's Irreplaceable 13 years ago and this song only reminds me of that day whe i came close to giving up. Ihave now been listening to Citizen Soldier for 13 years today. I'm 23 now and somehow these songs make me feel more comfortable with my life thanks guys for always being there for me all these years.
I’m so glad this song exists. I had something like this happen literally today. I let slip that I have depression to some people at Church, and then they proceeded to tell me to pray about it and to wait before starting the antidepressants I was prescribed because Jesus is the Great Physician. They posited that I was just going through a rough patch. Yeah, rough patch that’s lasted 4 years. They don’t understand what its like in my head, and they wouldn’t last a day.

I lost my big brother, my only sibling, in January 2022…..I found this group on TikTok of all places a few months ago and so far there is a vast majority of their songs that speak to my soul and the pain that I’m living with! I especially feel “I am not ok.”
I love all of your music, CS. Honestly, most of these songs I can't sing all the way through without breaking down. Crying is so hard to get me to do anymore, whenever I need to I go to your music. You've helped so many people, so many more than you realize. I hope you are all proud and doing well, you're doing amazing and I love you.

I love how deeply your songs represent the real struggles of mental illness, especially the feelings of the youth. The genre of music isn’t of I’d normally listen too but your songs have helped me through so many rough nights were all I wanted to do was cry, which I would listening to these songs but it would be tears I understood, that I could label and resonate with. Thank you for all your amazing music. It always helps me to fight my demons and feel more comfortable because I am not the only one who just can't take it all as easy as others. There are reasons for cutting your skin and you don't it because you want someone to see it. That is something nearly none other person believes me. They just tell me "just stop doing it". This feels relatable for now on, if someone doesn’t believe me that I have depression, I’ll listen to this. Just because I laugh a lot, it doesn’t mean I actually feel happy I don’t. You don’t snap out of depression that easily it’s not how it works.
