Very impressed by this channel after watching three videos. This is a quality channel with a very knowledgable and thorough host and the reviews are very balanced.
Bravo Miss GoElectric, I just saw you on Monro Live I had to go and see what else you do. I watched a few car reviews and I can say that you nailed those, they are short and I fell you cover all the important topics with outstanding knowledge of the car. I bought a P2 about one year ago and absolutely love it, like you pointed out, they are some area where it could do better but those are not so important for me. My experience with the P2 is really good, I live in Canada in the province of Quebec near Montréal. Here, in the winter, the weather drops down under 0 F for many days in a row. At those temperatures in the city on shorter trips the car cabin warms up quickly and is very comfortable. For longer distance the car lost around 33% autonomy but charged almost at the same speed as in the summer, this means getting back on the road quicker. The service from Polestar Laval as being fantastic, they even came to my home to pick up my car and left me a loner so they could take to their shop to perform some software upgrades, which improved charging, central console stability, active security systems performance and many others features. By the way, Apple Car Play integration as not happen as of now, as a compensation for not be ready, Polestar as offered to extend free in car connectivity from 3 to 6 years. Long life to your channel.
Nice review. Beyond the usual overview and driving impressions, the real-world challenge trying to use Android's built-in charging nav system was an eye opener. Lots of opportunities for incremental improvement in the vehicle but it looks like they're starting from a very good place. Looking forward to more reviews!!
Thank you. Yes, google maps has some work to do with the charging station information. Although, recently PlugShare announced they have a Beta version for Android Auto which is very promising. I know Polestar has a developer program for the Android OS so hopefully they also take a stab at this system too. It would make an amazing difference. Either way, the car would be worth buying as is because you can use these apps right now but integration in the HMI would be outstanding!
A really well balanced review, thank you for that. The P2 is on our shopping list,. It is a well thought out vehicle with the trunk/boot was the game changer firs. Although we may wait for the Precept. 😊. Subscribed
@Miss GoElectric - Wow, great review! A ton of "useful" info in less than 12 minutes. Can definitely see improvement with each video you post. As for the price of 73k, yea, I agree; a little pricey. Aside: Glad to see this time that when referencing regen braking you did NOT point to the actual disc brakes like in a previous video. :P
I am in the market for a new lease. Pickings are slim for my taste, and I'm in particular rush. Minus the accuracy of the charging stations, I've been doing me research, and great honest video, by the way. Unfortunately, they are made in China, and I have long been boycotting everything Made in China unless it's an absolute "necessary" purchase.
Do you think the dual purpose BEV/ICE platform has comprised the range? 78 kWh and only 230 miles - seems pretty inefficient. Thanks for news about Google maps - sounds pretty useless. Yes, I can not wait for Plugshare to come to CarPlay.
There certainly are more energy efficient EV options in the marketplace right now. The charging station software is another opportunity for improvement.
polestar. you can buy one today 60 month terms loan is $977/month and you get $7500 federal tax credit. $59900. December 2020 expected delivery (which is this month).
The Polestar 2 can accept up to 150 kw on a DC fast charger and up to 11 kw on AC/at home. Polestar claims it will charge to 80% in 35 mins on DC and charge on AC fully within 8 hours but it depends on the charger you plug into and many other conditions/factors. I was in Los Angeles, California for the test drive and as you can see I had a hard time finding a charging station (especially a fast charging one). I did not charge this overnight since I only had it for a a few hours. Generally speaking, DC Fast Charging is more expense than home charging and each network charges different rates at each station across the country. Some cars come with complimentary DC Fast charging for a certain period of time. In this case, Polestar and Electrify America have a partnership together right now which offers two years of complimentary charging on their network (30 mins max per session). My home charging costs me $0.12/kwh (Southeastern Michigan) so to fill up a 78kwh it would cost me just over $9. Keep in mind utility prices are different for everyone but the US average is about $0.14/kwh right now. I hope that helps.
Are you looking for Polestar Spaces? They are planning on opening a space in Connecticut soon. The closest open facility is in NYC right now. You can sign up for test drives at the NYC space or their Mahwah, NJ pop up on their website. They also offer delivery to test drive at your house. www.polestar.com/us/test-drive/booking/select-location
I like the clarity and customizability of the Polestar 2 360 degree cameras very much. Overhead view is very helpful. It is on par with BMWs best. My Tesla does not offer a camera advantage.
I'm considering buying one, but two things make me hesitate; (i) is Chinese, and China is an increasingly oppressive and aggressive country that cheats and steals technology, and (ii) I'm really sceptic about the look of the back side. Wish Volvo and Polestar were German, or that Sweden has the financial muscles to run them.
I understand your perspective. Designing and engineering are led by the Swedish team. When I spent a week at HQ I was surprised with how the influence of Geely wasn't present. They really let the brand take the reigns as their own. Obviously big money helps and that is where Geely steps up to get manufacturing facilities in place and structural elements for mass volume. Volvo launched the initial design in concept form for PS1 and PS2 for the first two cars. Precept is the indicator for future design language which is much more edgy and risky but of course design is all about personal preference which is why we have a wonderfully diverse set of options to chose from in automotive. :)
@@MissGoElectric 100 percent accurate information. These are Swedish designed and engineered and so many commenters think that they're Geely cars but they're really Volvo cars tuned by Polestar onto becoming more Polestar designed with the 3 and later models. Volvo is too small not to have a parent company. Chinese or not, Geely Holding is a great parent company for Volvo/Polestar. So, so much better than Ford. Volvo Sweden has expanded under Geely. I just try to separate the company, Geely Holding, located in China from the horrible Chinese government. To be honest, there are a lot of horrible governments we have to deal with in many industries. China is key in the EV industry with electronic components and batteries and such.

instablaster.
I like the styling a lot but would need the charging infrastructure to rival Tesla’s before I trade in my model 3.
Tesla's Supercharger network is a significant competitive advantage.
Ah the charging station! Say what you will about Tesla and it’s ecosystem bull crap but they are doing something right here. Keep it coming, Polestar!
Polestar makes a great car. We are hoping for longer range options from them.
Nice job!
Thanks Sean! 😄

Yes, the color of the one I drove is Thunder. The one in the popup space is Snow. 😄
Great Polestar EVs created by us Chinese #MadeInChina2025 #BeltAndRoad 🇨🇳
Geely has many impressive automobiles under its banner.
I have a model 3 and the charging that is every where is why i picked tesla. No other ev co. will do this. they need there own charging.
Tesla has the unique advantage of being able to charge on their network easily and with adapters, on all of the other networks as well.
I wonder if you have a different reverse camera than the European models. From what I saw, it is a disaster.
