  • Echinodorus ‘Red Diamond’ is a rosette plant in Tropica’s Medium category and comes supplied in pots. It grows up 25cm tall and 25cm wide making it an ideal focal point plant for most aquariums. It is grown in Tropica’s greenhouses hydroponically and transforms in colour once adapted to its underwater form. New leaves usually turn a pale colour with more mature leaves turning more colourful in proportion to the amount of light and nutrients available. Like all Echinodorus species it appreciates a nutrient-rich substrate.

      Hi Valentin. From our experience and based on the average growth observed the 'Red Diamond' doesn't reach such height. You might have a variation or a very special Echinodorus on your hands

      Tropica Aquarium Plants The plant is from you. :D They grew that tall after I changed my fertiliser. I’m not sure what is it inside because it was made by a fellow aquascaper.

      @@TropicaAquariumPlants www.adana.co.jp/jp/staffblog/180418_lisboa/ In this ADA staff blog, in the bottom there's a pic a what looks like an Echinodorus red diamond and the leaves are big compared to the angelfish nearby. Some websites say it grows up to 25 cm tall and in another one i read it grows up to 50 cm

    Is this similar to red pearl I bought the fed pearl one a few days ago but can't seem to find a video on it?

      Hey Amy, not quite sure how the red pearl looks like; the fantasy names can sometimes be confusing to keep track of.

      @@TropicaAquariumPlants I have plant substrate which is a few months old when would I need to start adding root tabs for the plant?

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  2 года назад +1

      You can add the tabs right away (when you lay the substrate) and at any given point afterwards 😁. It's never too early or too late (unless the plant died...)

    Split the plant into several portions? That doesn't sound right.

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  4 года назад

      Indeed it does sound a bit odd; it only applies when there happen to be more plants growing in the same pot. One ought not to chop the plant in pieces.
