I want to make a vertical antenna, I don't have one yet, I've been using a simple 20m dipole with a 10m on it as well with very decent results but I want to have something else to work with.

Building antennas is a great way to see what can and might not work. I have a 20/5 feet vertical up at my home QTH now, and it works well. I am already thinking of my next build. Thanks for watching. 73s

For HAMRS if no internet available, make sure to turn off the lookup feature.

A vertical will give a lower take off angle and is great for distance. Theoretically the mountains will block or reflect your signal. Youre getting out so the vertical is working.
Trust me. Splurge on a memory keyer!
