  • Last October Nathan Millward and I rode the TET between Cirencester and Salisbury so that he could evaluate the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled on typical UK green roads.
The Wiltshire route incorporated the Fosse Way, Savernake Forest and Salisbury Plain.
    22.10.17, CRF250L (& Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled)

That looks so much fun guys, that is for the desert sled was made. Morning to go work, evenings to dirt it. Cheers.

Took one off road in Somerset today never having ridden one before. Feels big when it breaks traction but it can be done as you show. Your guy looks disconcertingly competent......

Looks fun, are the routes all classified as BOATS?
More importantly, can you get a decent bash plate and some form of mud slinger? And how long did it take you to clean it....

Great to see one being used properly. That water was actually quite deep but front cylinder kept on firing so Italian electrics are OK on it!. Going to buy one as soon as the 2019 model hit the showrooms, love the little bikes, such a change from the BMW monsters. I will be riding mine RTW.

I've wondered what Chris Birch could do with one of these, since he rides a damn KTM 1190 in Enduro.

That actually looked quite impressive. What did you guys make of it? Would you change the gearing? Maybe in UK they should call it the Ducati Puddle Jumper!

Not my first choice, but Nathan was very capable on it. He wrote a piece for ether his magazine (Getting In To Adventure) or the Bennett's website, I'm not sure which.

Nice vid but to be honest I’d much rather hear the bikes.

Thanks. The bikes are both quiet, so the camera picks up wind noise more than engine or exhaust noises.

I have one and going off road, nah, it´s not made for that, seriously.
It is way too havy and the suspension is not good enough, not progressive, hands down.
Take a KTM or if you want a big bike, a Honda Africa Twin.
The Desert Sled is for cruising and touring.

@@Ouwkackemann I'd have to disagree. Plenty of vids with guys rocking this thing off road.

Yep, a KTM 690 Enduro is much easier to handle in dirt, and it's an overweight bitch, lol.
