Ok. Here's what I was able to compile. Arnold the Armadillo was apparently involved in a terrible truck accident like his brothers were, but Bubsy saved him and even graciously gave him a place to stay at his house after having lost his family. Arnold feels totally honored by the move and thinks the world of Bubsy, but it wasn't until he actually moved in with Bubsy that he realized just how awful of a person he is. Bubsy is trying way too hard to be a hyper Sonic that's just constantly on speed and does ridiculous things like brush his teeth with a floor waxer, and makes such loud and horrible noises all the time. Arnold tries to put up with it but has severe PTSD from the accident, so that coupled with Bubsy's abhorrent behavior makes him realize that Bubsy didn't save him, he ruined his death and forced him to be his sidekick, so now he just constantly lives in fear of Bubsy's presence and constantly has flashbacks to that day. And what does Bubsy do? He throws him to the pack of wolves that is his nephews.
ok but that happened in the pilot cartoon that Arnold was terrified of bubsy, and in case if bubsy ruined his death by now arnold would decide to commit suicide (and he can do it at any time without the presence of bubsy, otherwise why is it still alive and with bubsy when can he return to his home?). look in the first game sure Bubsy will have understood that Arnold doesn't want to be his assistant so he stopped harassing him and decided to fight the woolies alone. and in the second from there Arnold decided to be his assistant to defeat Oinker Pig who was holding Virgil hostage, but to help Bubsy he had to face his worst fear like THE TRUCK and so he did. and in the last one (which would be paws on fire) now Arnold is relaxed and has a strong bond with Bubsy and less so with the twins, which means that Arnold is ready to face Bubsy's lively adventures. and WHAT THE HECK DOES HYPER SONIC HAVE TO DO WITH ALL OF THIS NOW?!!

Yeah, the former may have been a little ridiculous and over the top at times compared to Sonic SATAM which i much prefer overall but this pilot is on another level of badness. @SuperRobotnikJoseph #supereggmanjoseph Indeed, much of the episode was just straight up dumb and annoying to the point that not even the decent voice work from the big name voice actors like Rob Paulsen, Jim Cummings, Pat Fraley and others could save it. At least with Adventures of i can watch it and still watch without wanting to chunk though i personally prefer Sonic SATAM, unlike this which is a special kind of bad that can't be salvaged.
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was hilariously over the top, but it knew that there shouldn't be loads of sound effects all over the place, plus Sonic had a great voice done by Jaleel White. Dr. Robotnik is a special mention, being given quite a bit of screentime & given a high profile personality despite being a villain.
The fact that Bubsy introduces himself as the "prince of personality" is * chef's kiss * It's like the writers are self-conscious about the fact that bubsy is a cardboard-thin idea for a character just trying to cash in on 90s mascot culture.
Rewatching it now, there are several scenes that weren't seen during its original Black Friday 1993 broadcast, but were eventually finally seen when it was used as a bonus you get in Super Bubsy(a Windows remake of Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind) if you were to complete the game. Unfortunately, it being 1995, the Super Bubsy rip had obvious digital destruction, with darker colors & glitchy artifacts that weren't there originally, plus the audio being off sync. We'll likely never see the full pilot in the original quality, & even if the pilot is terrible, it's still kinda surprising considering how we've been able to find the full Twinkle the Dream Being & Widget the World Watcher series in English through the original masters, which might imply that perhaps the original master for the Bubsy pilot could now be gone at this rate.
As a bubsy fan, this is like a hidden treasure. Is this the original airing or something? Because the voice lines in the commercial break thing are different. And certain scenes are cut... :)
Reggie Fils-Aimé Well, what I'm saying is that little moments or lines in the original creation got cut (the one in Super Bubsy) maybe because of time constraints or something. That’s because commercials back then had soul, exciting, creativity and they basically aren’t cringe-worthy as commercial todays. Most commercials today are absolutely god awful and easily cringe-worthy that no one should ever watch this on tv anymore, it’s all just a shitty ass smartphones ads and cringiest dance ads ever.
