It didn't work because it had the same humour as some of the few higher-brow jokes on Family Guy but combined it with Warner Brothers Animaniacs-style animation that had always been a staple in children's cartoons instead of the less over-the-top style that Family Guy employs.

      and some of the gags were used in family guy too. such as the part where larry and his family goes to see Philadelphia, and larry starts cracking up at tom Hanks saying "i have aids"... or the drive by arguments, where the Brit drives up to a man and says "i disagree"...
      goes to show when Seth MacFarlane makes a joke that he thinks is funny, it sticks in his mind for later use.

      It's basically Family Guy with different visuals. It's the same concept with the same jokes.

    • @mascot1063
      @mascot1063 10 лет назад +18

      Not quite. It doesn't have the constant cut away humor that Family Guy is unfortunately littered with. It's why American Dad is good, and Family Guy isn't.

    This was _very_ witty for a kid's show and with a noticeable amount of adult humor, like the "euthanasia"/"youth in asia" joke, and the Scotsman with "xenophobic" in his name.
    I can see how this evolved into Family Guy.

    • @jerichamesclammay3107
      @jerichamesclammay3107 9 лет назад +4

      C.L. The Raccoon Family Guy is clever as well and has strong jokes and smart comedy. You're just too sensitive is what your problem is.

    • @Jacqthepossposs
      @Jacqthepossposs 9 лет назад +14

      Luke Dearey no, no, I agree, Seth McFarline is a very clever and smart writer, but throughout the later seasons, a lot of jokes became forced and/or used crude topics to convey a satirical sense on said topics without a need.
      I'm just saying there's a difference between clever, wholesome, and just plain crude, or when something is all three, which Family Guy is. I'm not some libtard can't take a joke, ya know?

    • @jerichamesclammay3107
      @jerichamesclammay3107 9 лет назад
