Hi great video, I got this hard drive I fitted into my G62, I is just one I had lying around. it does'nt work and I was wondering if you knew why? RPMs are them same, but I'm wondering if it is because that hard drive writes at 5gps and therefore is too quick for this pc? Would really apreciate an answer. Looks super cool with the processor change and everything would like to do the same with my old laptop, but our market for that is super limited here in Denmark(fewer suppliers).
Nice thanks, I have similar one and I tried to upgrade the ram. Finally I done it but my G62 doesn't turn on. I have only the power button light on and the capital leter button flashing. Would you please tell me what happened to my G62?
not fitted correctly,faulty stick, incompatible stick, your laptop doesnt support the amount of ram you have installed in total (mine supports 8gb 2x4gb max) i beleive some models of the G62 support less though. could be any of the reasons above.
first place to start would be to take the ram out and try one stick in each slot individually could be one stick is faulty or one of the slots are faulty if the laptop was working before then the ram is going to be the issue now also make sure the new ram is the right speed for your laptop and that it supports up to 8gb the g62 should though hope this helps regards karl
upgraded the ram in mine to 8gb, 2x 4gb in duel channel, made a huge diff compared to the original 6gb it came with, it was so slow, doing the hdd>>ssd next , wouldnt mind knowing the cpu id need to upgrade tho? what should i be looking for, my G62 is an i3 m350 and it shipped with 6gb ram and 320gb hdd and windows 7 (now upgraded to win 10)
hey, searched google and yep i was able to get some on hand. I was able to clean the fan too :) it made crazy noises the first boot up but was quite the third time. first time to disassemble a laptop and i hope it will last, i mean i'm using it right now and no problem so far; by hand, I think the temp got better. You can install an i7 620M boosts to 3.3ghz (dual core, quad thread) which is the fastest cpu for the hp g62 and it is strictly a dual core quad thread motherboard. I upgraded mine for $20 I bought an i5 540M 2.53ghz boosts to 2.79ghz. this sped up my system by about 18-20% and with an ssd it is pretty good now. very good for videos and internet. and really old games. Cheers!

i have the same laptop, I cant install AMD 5470 Drivers, i get VIDEO TDR FAILURE, how did you fix?
