Dr Gretchen, just so you are aware they make a cream colored resistance band (super light) that’s easier than yellow.

That's great! I will be sure to mention that the next time that I use them in a video. That is just what I had on hand at the time.

Thank you! That exercise is hard for me , so it tells me I've to work on it(my feet keep lifting). Do you also have an exercise for knee hypertension?

You're welcome! There are a few great exercises for knee hyperextension! I don't have a youtube video for them, but they're in my online program, The MSing Link! Let me know if you'd like more information on it!

Should you do problem targeted exercises like these if you don't have that problem?

Hi Leslie! Doing them, even if you don't have this problem, won't hurt! They're still great stretching and strengthening exercises. With that said, you could focus on other exercises that are more of a priority for your goals!

I'm in a wheelchair full time. I can stretch my adductors, but I can't move my legs outward at all. I can't do the clamshell move seated or laying on my side. Can you suggest any way for me to work up to it?

One possible way to work up to it is to lay on your back in bed, and practice moving your leg out to the side then back to the center. However, the best way to determine modifications is to work with an in-person physical therapist!☺️

Thanks for your response. But I can't move my legs outward at all. I have a therapy pool that I can stretch in, but that's it.

Great question! As many as you can with good quality! If you need a number to shoot for, I'd say 30 good-quality repetitions (with breaks in between)! Research shows exercise should be performed between 5-6 days/week for MS :)

Hi Gretchen, ive recently started exercising and the indoor bike is what i often use as i have foot drop on my rifht foot when my body gets hot/tired. As my strength has increased, my right knee (only) is collapsing in when im working hard and get hot. It so frustrating as the other leg feels like i could do so much more. Is there a way to stop this happening during exercise? I sometimes push my leg out with my hand while im on the bike but this is not sustainable. I think this is long standing nerve damage from my MS..do you think these exercises could help me? Many thanks ❤

Hi Angie! Great question - I currently do not have any content on symptoms occurring one side or the other, but will be creating some soon to help answer this question!
