    That ring manages to maintain a classy and timeless appeal despite the massive quantity and size of the diamonds involved. That is impressive. I appreciate that the halo diamonds are not particularly large, so that feature doesn't overwhelm the appeal of the central canary diamond. Beautiful work.

      Very much so, I agree, and very satisfying to see the finished product of so many hours of work. Bobby's work (top shelf) is maybe what 5% of the custom jewelers quality work is. Lots of very bad, poorly made, jewelry out there.

    • @Jattniel
      @Jattniel 5 лет назад +3

      rambull Jr diamonds aren’t really expensive if we’re talking about finding them but buying them off someone id say that yellow diamond was around 6-8k

    • @mndlessdrwer
      @mndlessdrwer 3 года назад +1

      Most jewelry is sold at a significant markup regardless of the production method and origin of the stones involved. The majority of jewelry sold isn't crafted from raw stock in this method, but is instead made via the lost wax casting method, which allows the jeweler to create a single buck for the ring, earrings, bangle, etc, then create a silicone mold of it, cast wax into that mold, then create a tree of wax jewelry to be surrounded in plaster. Melt out the wax and you get your hollow mold. Fill that mold with molten silver or gold and you've got your jewelry roughs. Break the mold, remove the excess metal, polish up the castings, set your gemstones, and you're ready to get it marked and sold. The method Bobby uses, though, is far more labor intensive and that can drive up the price of the finished piece. Is it worth it? I guess that's for the buyer to decide.

    Very nice!! Detailed and hand fabricated. Very organized and efficient. Couple questions? 1. The under gallery for the center. Why not design, scribe and pierce a cool pattern? 2. The center metal composition. Do you mix higher Karat based on stone being Vivid, Intense, etc., and is the inside of the center closed for color enhancement or open? I guess its more than a couple questions, my bad! Good talent to be able to make your jewelry and set in all applications. Very cool!!

    I wanted to start getting into jewelry making. Just wondering about materials I. Need and cost of everything

    • @Lumina_Solaris
      @Lumina_Solaris 5 лет назад +6

      It's very expensive and time consuming. Materials aren't the bulk of the cost, when you start out. It's the vast amount of equipment. The rolling mill, the solder set up, the jeweler bench, the pitch, the flex shaft, the polishing set up, etc.
      So, like, if you look at his rolling mill, he has a Durston. That's a couple thousand dollars, right there.
      What you'll want to do, if you are genuine, is see if you can sign up for some classes, which will allow you access to equipment to use until you can get some equipment of your own.
      Get a feel for the art. Make sure it is something you are willing to put the time and money into. Because, if it isn't for you, it's a lot of money you'd be spending.
      There are so many metalworking techniques, which is why I absolutely fell in love with it. I adore it.
