    I just want you to know I love your style of mentoring! I was a FlyBaby back in 2000, and did so well with it that my husband was bragging on me to all our friends and telling them about FlyLady. Long story short, I fell off the wagon, tried other systems, kids grew up and left home, we moved to Canada (from Texas) - and life just flew by. I never found another system that made as much sense to my scattered brain as FlyLady. I discovered your channel about 10 days ago, and I made up my mind to "do" FlyLady again. Wouldn't you know, I got sick over the weekend and thought my house was going to suffer for it. But I took your advice and just did what I could, keeping up with my morning and evening routines (I never lost my morning routine from before!). I'm still not back up 100%, but my house is not a wreck and I'm getting stuff done 2, 5, and 15 minutes at a time - including resting when I need to. You're a great mentor! Thank you!

      My hubby tells a lot of people about flylady... And he's kind of a "tough guy" type, but very kind, don't get me wrong. Anyway, Yay!!!, for the difference flylady makes for home...and family.

    I set the timer for 15 minutes and got all of the lower cabinets and half of the upper wiped down. Another 5 minutes and it was all done. (All of the while saying.."my cabinets look okay, maybe I don't need to really do this.....my weakness/excuse..) But with your encouragement and motto of "you work while I work!" I did it :)

    Wonderful video, Flaylady Diane! You gave the best tip about the cutlery drawer. I am going to get that done today and will only have time to declutter one cabinet. Thank you!!---Tressa Daigle

    Thank you so much for this. I've just returned from a 5 day trip for a race and was NOT inspired to do my morning routine this morning. Thanks to "working along with you," I not only did my MR, but washed the floors on the main level as well (which really needed it since I missed Monday's WHB!) I'm enjoying my iced coffee now. Thank you so much!

    I guess your kitchen is of Danish design. So practical, minimal and such a good use of space! I am very impressed of how efficiently you use your time cleaning just in between! Enjoy the rest of your day!

    Good morning! Here in the US it's morning away :) First I just wanted to say that I love all those drawers in your kitchen. Our kitchen has 4 tiny drawers and several cupboards but I always wish it had more drawers. I actually bought some plastic drawers for extra storage. Also wanted to thank you for the tip about setting your table while unloading your dishwasher. What a good idea!

      Yes, we all love to cut corners - no point in putting away the dishes when they are going to be used again in a few hours :-)

    I passed monthly inspections with an "over all good" marked on the paper. (This morning I quickly made my bed, did the dishes, and took out the trash). I also volunteered for the food pantry, and my friend took me grocery shopping (and I only spent $33 (I bought some on Sunday). I can't have a grocery day, because my free time and her free time fluctuates. I always pass, but it was easier with the FlyLady system to pass. I like tea and soda. I hardly ever have coffee. Coffee makes me tired, but I like the taste. I have choir practice on Tuesdays. I have Red Cross this Friday (once a month I volunteer for the Red Cross, I'm a greeter and sign people in). Live Long and Prosper!!

    I wish our cabinets had drawers that pull out like that. To find anything in my lower cabinets it's like you're exploring a deep cave. Your dishwasher must dry the dishes fast. I always have cups still dripping so I have to leave overnight or a few hours, and there's still water even then!

    • @Julie-ok5fr
      @Julie-ok5fr 7 лет назад +1

      saphire82, I used to have that same problem but I have found that using a "jet dry" product really helps to whisk the water off during the heat drying stage. When the dispenser gets low, my dishes don't seem as dry. You might try that, and also, you might try pulling out the bottom rack first and getting those dishes put away. The top rack tends to drip water onto the dishes below when you pull it out first. just a thought or two! Happy dish drying :)

    That's so interesting about the lunch packing paper! I have never heard of that! I'm from Mississippi in the USA. I use ziplock bags to pack lunches.

    Your lunch wrap paper sounds very much like our butcher paper. Dull on one side and a bit shiny on the other. Traditionally used for wrapping meat, we use it for endless number of tasks including children's art projects. I buy it in 50 lbs rolls and use it nearly everyday.

    if you ever need to laugh, read the auto captions with a video. For example, when you said "cardie" the machine said "coyotes". imagine yourself with a coyote skin around your shoulders. lol.

    Great video Diane, I like that you don't always declutter anything from your drawers, sometimes watching other videos it feels like I've had no progress unless I've thrown away half the contents!! Lol .
    Could you please say what you think the sandwich wrap is called in uk ? I am always trying to cut down on foil and cling film but can never seem to overcome the wrapping of the sandwiches for lunch. Maybe a little video? I love how in Denmark they encourage you to be environmentally friendly. We still have adverts for kitchen roll encouraging you to use it for all your household chores. Thanks as always xxx

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Mary, I've never seen the packed lunch paper outside of Denmark, I'm afraid. But if you can get cheap baking parchment, it's better than using foil/cling wrap.

    Curious, do you have a trash compactor? My aunt has one. I like your kitchen. I might be part Irish or Scottish, we can't trace my dad's last name. But it sounds Irish. My mom has 100% German ancestry. So I'm at least 67% German ancestry.

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 лет назад +1

      We don't generate that much trash...only businesses/stores would have a compactor.

    Why don't we use the area under the cabinets here in the US? Instead it's just wasted space.

    • @jomycoke
      @jomycoke 7 лет назад +2

      I would love to use that space! Toe-kick drawers are usually an add-on option for new installs. But you can get kits if you're a DIYer.
