This is something I desperately wanted to make and yeah, if you couldn't tell, is also my first time really writing something like it and editing. I am not sure I did a good job as it was actually quite hard depicting how much of a good series it was but I urge you all if you haven't watched it already, to please do.
I know its quite serious so this is new for meeeeee
And if you hate it, at least my parents liked it.

Not true, keep on like you have this year and make the videos *you* want to make not just the ones you expect us to want. Much less stressful and we might surprise you.

very nice video syd, you manage it amazingly to capture the beauty of your own nostalgia and memory of this anime. Tbh when people make videos like this to me it makes a very strong impression of not just the topic but you yourself as a person. Ooooo, I never knew that you uploaded a discussion video! Anyway, I can't say I'm really into mecha myself, but there are two mech series that I actually like (Code Geass and DarliFranXX) I have considered watching Bokurano since I've heard its another anime like the two I've mentioned where its not so much a mecha, but a drama. Whenever you decide to edit your next discussion video, recommend lowering the music. It was very difficult for me to hear you, so I ended up turning on captions.

Bokurano is kinda grim, but inspiring at the same time. It's very telling that even if your channel tends to be comedy oriented, you share your thoughts in a serious and even respectful way about this anime. I liked that.

really a lot of emotion put into the video, the editing was the only part that felt a little off, like at the end that the music could fade out with the images but was just abrupt, but that is something that by practicing you will really master it, so just be your better self (like always) and you would notice how you improve over time! :) Sorry for broken english though...

Great vid! I'll check out Bokurano right now actually, but before I do, I wanted to follow up on you saying something about advice about how to make these videos, and I thought I'd give you my perspective:
First off; great presentation of the synopsis and great analysis despite having to avoid spoilers and such. Thumbs up for that!
Second: Try to keep it as objective as possible. I know you wanna voice your opinion, and that's fine to some extent, but don't overindulge on the good things and only convey those. Are there some bad things? Something to keep in mind while watching it? Anything that the viewer needs to know going into this, you wish you knew before watching?
Third: Nice, short and sweet video all in all - But that ending was brutal, wow. Try to ease it off into a fade out or something, instead of cutting to black and silence. (lul)

Mecha anime has/had been traditionally classified into super robot genre (super heroes, vs monster/villanous mechas etc) and Real Robot genre (where mechas are part of military conflict).
To compare to Super Robot genre. In stereotyped RR genre, mechas can break, run out of power, the pilots are as frail as how humans should be, and as a protagonist one may friendly fire a friend, comrade, civilians. The cause that the protagonists are fighting can be questionable. Themes on sci-fi, humanitarian issues, politics, etc rolls around. Occasionally, the "pilots" question why they are even riding that giant mech (no, not just why they are fighting). Guilty pleasure, revenge, anxiety, seeking acceptance, peer pressure, etc. Some mecha designs are intentionally a personification of a character's personality.
These days it maybe harder to categorize mecha anime as SR or RR. The distinction between mecha animes today is like a spectrum.
At further dissection, "mecha" in anime are just medium of specific themes to be communicated and/or just for the sake of satisfying one's thirst for big robots fighting. Sometimes the mechas are symbol (for example) of human ego.
    With what I've said,
I have to admit many mecha animes are there just to show off "big robot porn", dull fights, unworthy conflicts, nothing much special, nothing in particular to communicate. When I was a lil kid, all i cared about was big robot porn (like that of a Super Robot kind)

A suggestion would be adding the title of Bokurano in the description
    at least
Title can be left without it for clickbait reason and views
But not having bokurano in the description is odd since then the viewer has to wait till whenever you say it
And eventually I might wanna come back to remember the name and itd be real quick to just find it in the description

The only mecha I ever watched was Gundam 00, and I can say that it had GODLY animation. I tried to find other mechas with the same kind of animation but none of them stood a chance. I'm sure there are more mechas out there that are even better animated than Gundam 00 but I couldn't find any at that time. It was a great anime (even though I didn't understand shit because I was like 8 back then)

I'm actually really curious that, after watching this (which I always thought more of as a character exploration with a mecha element) did you watch any other mecha anime and which of those you liked or disliked and why. I think that would be a very interesting follow-up video that would be more about exploring a new genre for you vs a deep impact video such as this (which I think you did quite well and would have no problem seeing more syd vidz like this).
