WOW Im having the same issue with mine now. same code with misfire I changed plugs and also coil pack. Definitely doing this. man you just saved me all kinds of time. thanks for the video. Is things still going good in it?
Wow thank you for the video you made it all so easy with putting the links to the parts in the description it all fit and is running like a champ! And yes the O rings are a pain! I just brushes some glue on the inside grove and that help a lot keeping it in place.😅
Yes you did you did help me fixed and try to organize my part of the car it was in the same thing your car was in thank you it really did help watching watching your video thank you
Huge question @Robert Winnet can you re-find somewhere to get those parts and put it in description of comments please I have literally everything that’s going on in the video but stuff is out of stock!
Check Advanced Auto Parts! That is where I bought some of mine and some from Amazon. Also take the item name / number and put it in Google. You'll probably get some hits on eBay, other websites and possibly other Amazon listings!
Did you use the existing coupler on the throttle body to attach your 90 degree fitting? I can’t quite tell how you attached that. It seems the throttle body outside diameter is less than the coupler inside diameter by quite a bit - did you need to do a 2.5 inch adapter or anything?
dude thank you so much, my car just started doing this, service traction, engine knocking and with the engine light, do you by chance have new links to those parts? the links in the description dont work anymore
Hey bro hope you doing good. Wanna ask if this method is working perfectly? Since the time you switched intake part!! Mine also doing same thing like engine sputtering but no check engine light. So thinking of doing the same thing.
I have a 2011 ..... is there a way to check the codes by turning the key so many said times or like wise ? I'm having the same problems ....when idling awhile service traction service esc pops up and engine light comes on....also runs much louder than it used to....almost like theres a hole in the exhaust ...especially when idling ..... code that comes up when hooked up to reader is cylinder 3 misfire .... even after changing spark plugs and testing by swapping 2 of them it still says cylinder 3 ..... also have had random electrical issues over the past year such as ..... the seat belt warning light chiming even though. I'm buckled.... air bag light ..... momentary loss of headlight and dash lights when coming to a stop at a stop sign and came back on as soon as I began accelerating .... .but would like to know how to get codes using the key turning method please and thanks
I use a Bluetooth OBD2 reader for my phone. If there are logged codes you just need the car on but it doesn't necessarily need to be running. The seat belt and the airbag lights are triggered by connections under the seat and those are known to come loose. My airbag light comes on anytime I move my seat. As for the engine issues it sounds exactly like what I was experiencing and $40 fix took care of it. We're going on a few years with no issues. I've never experienced the dash and headlights going out but could be a loose connection somewhere or fuse going bad. You possibly could need a battery since the engine turns at a lower RPM idling if the alternator can't keep up with the draw while the engines turning at a lower RPM I could see electronics going out but I'm not a mechanic, I'm just the guy that has learned a few things from his dad who was a mechanic, and that's just me thinking logically through an electrical system
Wow I have had the same warnings and symptoms on my 2012 Malibu for many years I am definitely gonna try this and let you know I also saw the Roy rogers video and landed here after thanks for the links you provided!
@@Rwinnett2012 hey Robert I finally did it ! I don't know what this has to do with the problem or just a coincidence but my brake fluid level was low so I filled it and all the problems went away.
I do not. A quick search seems to show it is up next to the tank. There is a couple youtube videos I found with searching "2010 Chevy Malibu fuel filter change". That should help!
Having this problem now. Only thing is it pops up after driving for a while. Once it's shows these lights my 3 or fourth gear kicks in alil late. Could this be the issue or is my transmission messing up?
I'm not sure honestly. For like $40 I'd try this before getting the transmission diagnosed. I have not had a problem with the Malibu since and nearly daily drive it!
@@Rwinnett2012 not the guy you’re responding to. But I’ve been having this EXACT problem for a few weeks now in my 2011 Malibu. I currently have P0327 knock sensor circuit codes. Im gonna change my oil and spark plugs tomorrow, so I was going to look at my wiring harness on the knock sensor while I’m down there. Mainly just for that code. But after seeing your vid, my car does the exact same stuff with the acceleration. It usually says ESC Active, and service traction, etc. If the wiring harness looks fine, Im gonna try this. What exactly were the parts you bought for this if you don’t mind me asking? Some kind of intake duct?
@@tannergreen2613 I used Spectre Intake hose parts to replace the engine cover. I linked them in the description and it looks like Amazon still has them in stock! It's definitely worth the $30-40 in the intake hose pieces than whatever changing everything else may cost. I wish I knew why the engine cover causes electrical interference.

What sort of explanation are you looking for? If it is why does this work, I can't tell you. I assume the engine cover causes some sort of conductivity when it's wet and it messes with coils or the plug wires or something.
@@jonathanflores2354 I ordered the parts off Amazon. There are links in the description to the items (not affiliated). The parts come with an o-ring but it is kind of a pain to seat. Our Malibu is still running great! We are actually doing shocks on it soon since it is still running so good. For $40ish, it's worth the shot to fix it for years to come.
Been searching online to see if we’ve missed anything and definitely going to try this and see if it works! That’s good information thank you!!

Amazon and Advanced Auto Parts. Amazon was a little cheaper at the time. The description should have the part numbers.

How did you attach the throttle body to the 90 degree fitting???
It fit directly on. I did use some WD40 as a lubricant to help slight the 90 on but that is all.
