    NP35 has enhanced USB capability - USB passes audio as well as MIDI. The NP-35 also has graded soft touch keys (vs. natural touch) and a more powerful 6W per side amplifier (vs. 2.5W per side). The NP35 also works with Yamaha's Smart Pianist app - so NP35 should see updates in the future. Where as the NP 32 was supported by Yamaha's previous digital piano controller app.

    Regarding the 5 new sounds on the NP35 they are: Bright Grand Piano (great for Rock & Blues), Stage Electric Piano (Rhodes), Jazz Organ (Hammond B-3) - the organs on the NP32 were basically Church Organs, Strings Pad, Synth Pads . The new Bright Grand, Rhodes, and Hammond sounds are some of my favorite sounds on the NP35.

    Yamaha must consider and redesign the piaggero series by repositioning the speakers 🔊 on top or at the back so that the piaggero series will have a shorter length and could easily be placed across its length at the back row sit of a car boot.

    Great info thanks and great point on the price! Quick question: are the keys on the NP-35 true full size octave width like on weighted digital pianos (164mm or so) or is it still the narrower "full size" octave width like the NP-32 was of a bout 159mm (like you see on synths/arrangers)?
    Oh and a couple of huge new features though - the NP-35 is compatible with Smart Pianist, and it has an audio interface built into the USB to host port which is massive (now you can stream audio into the keyboard to play along with, AND you can send high quality digital audio direct to a DAW or even to the camera app on a phone to record piano videos, both without needing an external audio interface box

    • @declancosgrove
      @declancosgrove Год назад +1

      I'm not sure about the key width - good question! Thanks for the info about the audio interface built into the USB to host port - I will add that info into the blog. I always record using my video camera's mic - using the ambience of the room and only use Midi when using a DAW, so I don't use an audio interface, but I'm sure this will be really useful for people who want a direct feed.

      question, are all these features available in the NP15 as well? i mean the app, audio pass through etc. i know the graded keys are not in the np15 but what about the other stuff?

  • @jravitz
    @jravitz Год назад +3

    Thanks for sharing the review. I think you are persuasive, but I'm surprised you didn't mention the benefits of two upgrades that might be worth considering for your audience. It still might not be worth the price, but I think the jazz organ represents a big upgrade most kinds of pop-type music. Also if you are using layering a lot, I can imagine the lights are helpful. With the earlier models you cannot visually tell which of the two patches you are using. Still, I appreciate your insights. Keep em coming!

      I've not tried out the Korg Liano yet - it looks good as a portable keyboard - seems a bit more expensive than the current deals on the NP32 but it looks a good alternative to the NP35.

    Hi,
    Is the NP 32 and NP 35 the same size so essentially in the same casing? I am asking bc I am looking for a wood stand for my NP 32 and it said it was compatible with the NP 35

    • @DecPlayPiano
      @DecPlayPiano  7 месяцев назад +1

      the NP25 is very similar diemnsions to the NP32 (not exactly the same - It's slightly longer at 1,260 mm rather than 1,244 mm) - it's possible that a wood stand would fit both - but I can't say for certain
