It might be an unpopular opinion, but this is one of the best games in the series. It's a shame that people who watch gameplay videos through youtube don't get to experience the 3D effects of the 3ds screen, which make this game really stand out. This game was a return to the origins of the series and it doesn't fail to impress. I can't put in words how much I enjoy it.
I don’t think it’s just nostalgia-colored glasses. Even playing LttP today, there is much more of a sense of sense of danger and a need to take on the unknown than there is in newer 2D Zeldas such as this one. As amazing as link between worlds is, it’s inarguably easy especially given how early you can get all of the weapons. LttP challenges the player in ways that this game does not, and it can stand on its own without being assisted by nostalgia as one of the best 2D adventure games ever made.
Just finished the walkthrough... This game takes everything that made A Link to the Past such a fantastic game and dials it Up To Eleven. The sequence when Link heads up the steps to claim the Triforce of Courage and speaks with the Seven Sages on the way...wow.
It really is a fantastic game! I will say it feels a lot more cartoony and easier than Link to the Past which felt epic and dangerous, but between worlds is probably my favorite 2D zelda in spite of that.
I really need to buy this game, of the few Zelda games I've never played, this is the one I truly lament not experiencing. Nice video btw. It took me a couple days but I watched from start to finish.
My 10 year old laptop plays this game with Citra along with the 3D ocarina of time and majors mask remakes! So awesome getting to experience those games after playing OOT as a kid when it came out and never having gotten to play Majoras Mask.
This game was severely underrated by a lot of critics. They really need to remake this for the Switch, or at least when the DS is available on Switch Online, have this as one of their first games available
Of all the games in the series this may be the most impressive and significant use of the Triforce wish. I think it's cooler than the King of Red Lions wish.
i just finished this game and this video helped me for some things i wasn’t able to figure it out alone but bro im crying so bad fr this was the best zelda game I’ve ever played so far
This game was hands down just sooo fun and the way you get to experience both worlds and the things you get to use to help you throughout is really really fun and interesting
This game is a love letter to the original top down Zelda games. Die hard fans of the game gets the metaphor and anyone else who’s into old school gaming. It took guts to release a game like this in what 2011? 12? Smooth playing and puzzle solving. What’s not to love?
Watching this is so great it brings back memories from when I played and beat the game defiantly one of the best moments is when the sages summon the triforce of courage and you walk up to grab it!
I’m getting my first 3ds soon, and this is probably the game I’m most excited for, right next to 3D land, animal crossing, and donkey Kong country returns
They seriously need to port this to the switch... And make a Top to bottom remake of A Link To The Past, same as they did with Link's Awakening. Can you imagine how much Nintendo would rake in if they did that? I do not understand why they havent done it yet. They really need to port the entire 3ds library to the switch frfr
With the closing of the 3DS and Wii U e-shops, so many amazing games have become inaccessible to people who genuinely want to play them. It makes me reluctant to cover more 3DS games on my channel.
@@JimmyLongplaysNintendo will probably port them eventually (they take their time on everything) but the new versions will lose the unique interface of the 3DS. I've emulated some of them and they're just not the same.
@@ebee-uz1oz For LINK BETWEEN WORLDS the second screen can be made a subscreen like the rest of the classic ZELDA top down games, but for PHANTOM HOURGLASS and SPIRIT TRACKS both screens have to work at the same time, plus they're both heavily dependent on the stylus, so I don't know how they're going to port that to a regular controller.
@@zippymufo9765makes sense. I'm not a big fan of the stylus, except castlevania dawn of sorrow, where you have to "connect the dots (like a triangle etc) just to banish a boss.
How the heck has it been over a decade since this game came out I was a freshmen in highschool when it came out I remember getting the game for Christmas I was so excited I loved every bit of this game I 100% it within a matter of months!
Yesssss i finally found the first zelda game i ever play on my cousin's 3ds 😂😂😂 i just play a little bit and i dont remember much but some stuff in here definitely feels familiar
Thanks, this was a childhood fav for me lol. I had times where id always ask my brother haha. I could never figure out that giant rock at the bottom of lourie and it would just think you're talking about the turtle rock when you look it up.
I may edit this comment the more I watch. Also next time slow down with the dialog, you're pressing too fast, I have to rewind and pause it very often to read it. 1:01:09 Nice~ 1:29:00 MAN that's CRAZY timing! 3:06:11 Dang, again! 3:07:24 20 milliseconds... you're insane! This is a great walkthrough, the only issue I have is that it feels too fast, especially the text. I loved playing this game SO SO much! I adored Link to the Past, it was my first ever Zelda game, so getting such a beautiful sequel set in the same universe was a total treat for me! One of my top favourite Zelda games for sure
Hello, nice video, thank you. I would like to know how to place that information about Heart Pieces, Maimais, Frames and Runes on the right side of the screen, on top of the map. Thanks!
My only real beef with this game is I am not really a fan of Ravio's Rental system. You can basically have every single item in the game if you farm money and don't play like a moron, especially once you get enough hearts going. They could have easily designed dungeons around being able to get the item permanently like the old days.
Does this game have any multiplayer besides StreetPass Battles? I still need to get my New 3DS fixed but I’m thinking maybe once I do, I might buy a physical copy of this game to save me having to redownload the digital copy from my Link Between Worlds 3DS XL!
Great video but maybe don’t skip so fast through the dialogue next time - it was super annoying having to constantly pause it to read the text. I imagine dyslexic people may have an even harder time than I did getting through it.
They really used link to the past map, have it slightly better graphics and a different story, then called it a new Zelda game. This seems really lazy. But it's a Zelda game so I can't really hate on it too much I guess.

I agree :) It's SO good. Only one better is link to the past IMO
The original( link to the past) was better but yea this one pretty good
I have a 2ds so I can’t use the 3d
Nostalgia effect, link between the world is way better

This game is the BEST 2d zelda game. From the beginning to the temples to the mechanics to the ending. Its wow.

Its 3D

Thank you so much, specially for the timestamps/chapter, now I know exactly where I left off, right in front of the House of Gales!
Damn bly you did nothing from the game
I’m too old for this but I always tear up at the ending. ❤
The triforce is sentimental to me.

I did all of that during the video editing process!

hi! thx for the video. Which emulator do you use please?

for battle sequences of violence, sexual material, some scary action and language.
