My friend, you deserve your own show or at least segment of a fishing show on the outdoors channel.Every video I watch is always well done and your ingenuity is on another level. Well done, mate!
This is amazing on several levels. The amount of effort, ingenuity, etc required to build the mold and injector is pretty astounding. In addition to being a fisherman, I'm also a homebrewer, so I can kind of relate. With brewing, there's always some equipment or component to fabricate, modify, etc. I get a lot of enjoyment out of the beer I make, but just as much out of the process of making it, even though it would be so easy (and cheap) to just buy it at the store. I have to imagine that catching fish using lures you have so painstakingly crafted yourself has to be very rewarding in a similar way. I love this channel and am going to add it to my 'favs' list on my own channel. Thanks for the great video, and please keep up the amazing work.
Thank you for working out all the details needed to make this injector! I plan to make one soon with a T-handle on top and a hollowed out piece of wood to insulate the copper tubing. Thanks again! Excellent video!
Great video as usual! Try pouring the soft plastic into the injector instead of sucking it up. This has solved a lot of my problems concerning air bubbles in my worms. Thanks for all the inspiration!
When you draw the plastic into your injector, you could be creating the bulk of your bubbles. Try making a rudimentary stand for your injector to set it up vertical nozzle up. Then pour your plastics into your injector. Anytime you reduce the atmosphere around a liquid or cause a vacuum, you increase the size of the air bubbles desolved in the liquid. But as you increase atmosphere or inject it you should shrink the air bubbles. So I think most your problem could be in you drawing the liquid. Also making small air vints in the end of every lure void could help the evacuation of any small trapped air bubbles that you do get. Hope this helps paul.
the mould is vented, but how i fill the tube inject is something worth looking at again, i have made a larger silicone injection mould with the port at the base this fits onto and injector that is pour filled, it uses a caulk gun mechanism to push the soft plastic up through the mould and then into a top chamber to make up for any shrinkage, it also has valve on th e bottom of the mould so i can close it to take it off the injector, this is for a larger swimbait
The Handmade Fisherman... also the lip on the inside after you drilled out the nozzle could be causing turbulance. I have been wanting to do a swim bait for a year now with eather high strength 3 mold (needs a hard backing very brittle by the way) or an aluminum epoxy mold like you did...brilliant by the way and the injector as well. Also I don't know if you have tryed mica dust but gives a really cool effect to plastic I love the silver. Found these at a craft store for cheep.... Jaquard Pearlex Metallic Calligraphy Set go with a little a knife tip for a little shimmer or go crazy for a marbled almost full on metal look.
Great idea Paul I was thinking about doing something like this but I had my doubts about it working but now I think I'm going to give it a shot great video my friend can't wait to see what you make next
yes, I normally follow this principle when making hard plastic lures and previously when i have made silicone injection moulds and i think i am going to go back to it for future projects, thanks
wow thanks for put you wonderful video out their for use. you have make couple of video on how to make spinner baits 4 years a go i have try to make my own at one time never worked that well and my great great grandpa never like fishing with them because he never could make them too thank for you help i can now make them very well and now looking for any skirt materials i can use to build them from i did tried for some skirts never worked that great but i buck and deer tail hair works very well for the skirts for the weight i found walmart have lot of them now on discounted i pick all i could fine at this walmart i came home with 50 package of different sizes of weights i just drill out the hole little bite bigger to slide the weight over the eye of the hook the epoxy to seal it all in place i do put paint in the epoxy too it make it very hard finish on them
Wouldn't a normal plastic syringe work? Also with injection moulding, I would make so you push plastic from the top directly to the bottom of the mould and have it go up. You also need a vent hole on top, that way the plastic you inject pushes the air out, so you have no bubbles. Cheers!
Heed the warning! Plastisol is hot. I had my own trip to the ER! No fun. Silvadene saved the day and I still kept on making baits. Wear you gloves and protective clothing and save yourself an unpleasant experience.
looking at the rubber bit on a syringe it has a chamfer on it which i think will create less friction when plunged, maybe you could find a way to accuratly cut one into the o ring on the orig design
Paul I ask you something! Can you make a tiny crankbait or popper for chub and perch fishing? I hope you see this comment. And if you do it show us a method to paint a small lure without an airbrush.
Having recently watched the videos you have uploaded on your channel I feel this comment would also work great on either of them, thank you for your input.

Excellent idea! Sometimes I'm too close to a problem. I've spent MONTHS not thinking of using O-rings!
I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this effectively for 5 month thanks so much for some inspiration.
I have thinking about this a lot longer and just never got round to it, the favourite method would be a metal lathe but i haven't got one, cheers
I guess I'm quite off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Holden Rey lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
@Gus Westley Definitely, been watching on Flixzone for since march myself :)
@Gus Westley thanks, I went there and it seems to work =) I appreciate it!
As usual, excellent takes and editing alongside the sound track. You're the man!
Thanks for sharing!
thanks
Outstanding as always. Time to order some materials now. Thanks Paul
Cheers Mark
Hi Paul to stop the air from blowing back , try putting the vents at the end of the worms and that should stop any problems . grand job as usual .
They hard to see but the mould is vented at the end of the worms , cheers
And thats even wearing my glasses lol
Great video as usual! Try pouring the soft plastic into the injector instead of sucking it up. This has solved a lot of my problems concerning air bubbles in my worms. Thanks for all the inspiration!
that would be a good idea if it was little larger, so it may work with the next one
As always another cracking video lad, really enjoyed it! 🎣
thanks
Quality production as always Paul. Must give this a go.
good luck
love the worm with the air pocket. could be good for walleye
Amazing the ideas you come up with to make things.
poverty is a great teacher, cheers
Amen to that

cheers and good luck
Excellent delivery and very high quality video content.
I bet when you were a kid you had the best spud gun in Liverpool 😉
spud gun you were lucky we couldn't even afford a spud ruclips.net/video/XDQVDeUbWd4/видео.html
cool little project again paul. Been thinking of doing something similar from pvc pipe
things might get a bit melty
Awesome. I feel like trying this out one day soon to try make some creature baits
Another awesome video! Well done mr Paul :)
did you ties the boat in the front garden
did you ties the boat in the front garden
To avoid air bubbles, try injecting into the lowest point and having a breather hole at the highest point in the mold.
yes, I normally follow this principle when making hard plastic lures and previously when i have made silicone injection moulds and i think i am going to go back to it for future projects, thanks
Great vid and idea. Love your work / channel
Love your content, excellent work.
thanks
Above all praise!
Nice, I learn so much of you, thank you
thanks
Very nice I really love your attempts one day if I'm able to get the funds I want to try. So thanks for trying to find the best way. God bless.
cool video, ya you need a little air vent, but with this set up you could really start to crank out the lures. Nice job
the mould it vented on the end of the worms and I did add some more vents when i hit problems
wow thanks for put you wonderful video out their for use. you have make couple of video on how to make spinner baits 4 years a go i have try to make my own at one time never worked that well and my great great grandpa never like fishing with them because he never could make them too
thank for you help i can now make them very well and now looking for any skirt materials i can use to build them from i did tried for some skirts never worked that great but i buck and deer tail hair works very well for the skirts
for the weight i found walmart have lot of them now on discounted i pick all i could fine at this walmart i came home with 50 package of different sizes of weights i just drill out the hole little bite bigger to slide the weight over the eye of the hook the epoxy to seal it all in place i do put paint in the epoxy too it make it very hard finish on them

plastic syringes melt, and yess the mould is vented but injecting from the bottom would be better
One clever bloke
Well done big chap good job 😎👌👍
cheers,
Sometimes you have to squirt out a little bit of the plastic from the injector to get all the excess air out
Or you can inject the plastic really slow and that helps too
I still think with this I messed up and probably need to take more care when planning moulds for this, cheers
those pink one would work really well for trout
I have had a few trout them, rainbows in a reservoir, my fried was disgusted i was drop hotting for trout
I have had a few trout them, rainbows in a reservoir, my fried was disgusted i was drop hotting for trout
Great job buddy
Why you don't make maggots lures( soft plastic) for micro fishing or trout fishing?
Is a good idea
it is a good idea, might be worth a try
Great job, G-Man, Cape Town, RSA. :)
thanks
You should try and make your own version of powerbait for trout and salmon
Injection mold can not be completely air sealed. You supposed to make a little groove on the end of the lure to let air come out when you're injecting
there is a little grove on the end of every worm in the mould to let the air out
Heed the warning! Plastisol is hot. I had my own trip to the ER! No fun. Silvadene saved the day and I still kept on making baits. Wear you gloves and protective clothing and save yourself an unpleasant experience.
Good job my dear friend 👍
thanks
excelente sos un artista
Perfect
looking at the rubber bit on a syringe it has a chamfer on it which i think will create less friction when plunged, maybe you could find a way to accuratly cut one into the o ring on the orig design
I am not sure that would make a big difference as runs very smoothly the way it is, thanks
well done
Thank you
How does it work
Whats the cost to build?
Trens de Pesca - Brasil - Muito bom!
thank you
Did you make your mold too? If so do you have that video?
Why dont you buy a cake frosting {decorating }gun ?
LOve your vids. Here where i live i cannot get soft plastic for lures so i melt old soft plastic. Can you help me with a solution to get soft plastic?
where are you in the world?
Romania. I think online there are some options!
Paul I ask you something! Can you make a tiny crankbait or popper for chub and perch fishing? I hope you see this comment. And if you do it show us a method to paint a small lure without an airbrush.
I will do at some point but not at the moment
The Handmade Fisherman Ok,thanks!
Cool
thanks
Your drill press has a bit of a wobble.
But cool video all the same.
yes it was very cheap model and has had some abuse
Subtitulos en español porfavor
Ok
ali bike pump
This is stupid with too much time on your hands
Having recently watched the videos you have uploaded on your channel I feel this comment would also work great on either of them, thank you for your input.
Well played old chap
