    Can you combine blade bushings if necessary, or is that unsafe? I need to go from 7/8" to 1/2", and they don't seem to make bushings like that. They do make 7/8" to 5/8" and 5/8" to 1/2", though.

    OMG, thank God I watched this video!! I just bought a saw and a few hours ago I wanted to use it for the first time. I also bought a Diabolo blade and need to use the reduction ring. As the packaging mentions "16mm and 15.875mm" reduction rings I thought these are needed for different saws. Unfortunately, they don't mention how to use the rings at all, so I simply put one of them into the blade and was about to test it out, when I thought "Naaaah, somehow that doesn't feel right" and I just left it.
    I have no idea what would have happened if I had started using the saw and at some point that ring would have fallen out of the blade, but something tells me that it would not have been a nice experience. Has anyone ever made this experience? Any idea what would have happened??
    Anyway, thanks for mentioning this and shame on Diabolo that they do not cover that part on the packaging!

    Good point about disconnecting the power Bill.Just on that i saw an incident first hand quite awful
    Many people dont think 20 years ago ,a guy i worked with had a 4 inch grinder already in the locked on run position but it wasnt working .So he yelled out checked the power to his mate . So he layed it on his lap like an idiot while he lit up a smoke.His mate plugs it in and it started up and shredded his inner thigh ,grabbed it with his hand and cut that up too..A real mess

    My cordless circular saw doesn't have a brake like yours does. Should I stop using it and get one that stops as fast as yours?

  • @danielmcilroy7089

    Irwin blades only come with one 20 to 16 ring. Very frustrating as my ryobi corded saw has that same recess. I’ll go to a more specialized tool shop to get a couple of additional bushes as the green and red shop doesn’t seem to stock them (Aussies and Bluey fans know where I mean!)

    • @benh1216
      @benh1216 3 года назад

      Not recommended. Best to remove the old silicone using some kind of solvent (I.e WD-40) or remove like a Stanley knife or other blade.
      Then once the old silicone has been removed and the excess cleaned off you can then apply the new sealant.
      Hope this helps! :)

    I got this same saw and it's a big pain in the butt to fit the 10mm bushing in.. when I tighten down, it pops right out. I' called Diablo and they had no clue since it's their blade. Milwaulkie doesn't even sell the 10mm blades at home depot where I got the saw. I'm done with them.

    I think you might need to "talk a little faster"! Seriously, I have trouble keeping up when you talk too fast.. I'm from the South and getting old. I register things slower than I used to.. You know, that Southern drawl and such. I've not used my circular saw for a while now and needed a refresher. I think your information is great, so I reran you a couple of times to try to catch everything you said.

    NO WAY IN H#$LL was that bolt in it's original tightened position!!! Wish you would have included the knuckle busting loosening procedure. I love Milwaukee, but this push button cam lock and try to loosen at the same time without slipping and crashing your knuckles against the blade guard is a big miss in both the video and with Milwaukee engineers

    I purchased a brand new Diablo 71/4 24 tooth blade. First we know that the threads are reverse threaded and that the teeth have to point in the direction the motor turns. I went to put it on and thought my old age was catching up with me. Am I just stupid, I thought. Why is the printing on the back side of the blade? Maybe it's just Diablo that is stupid. I watched about three RUclipss on changing a circular saw blade. They all showed the blade just like on here, printing on the correct side. I had my wife come in and watch it with me, She came to the same conclusion, the printing is on the wrong side of the blade. I did an internet search " why is my Diablo blade's printing on the wrong side of the blade" No results for that search. I looked at RUclips again and found one that showed the man putting it on with the printing on the reverse side. He said that it's a common mistake that people assume the printing would be on the side that you would see when installed. So, W.T.F.?

    • @billshowto
      @billshowto  Год назад

      Probably depends on the style of circular saw. Some have the blade on the left and some on the right. 👍

    • @donalddunn2983
      @donalddunn2983 Год назад +1

      @@billshowto Thanks for the reply, So after much investigation I found out that it's the saw that is backwards. I always thought that it was a manufacturing standard which way they run. You would think that it would be good practice to visually label the saw if it's left or right. Not that very small black lettering that can't be read if your eyes are anything worse than 20/20, It should be clear and obvious. So much for a perfect world.
