    One question: when using dual routing with a loop switcher, it should set to instrument? Or line?

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  3 месяца назад

      Thank you for the compliment. The operating level of the H90 should depend on the operating level of the system as a whole. If you’re incorporating the H90 paths as part of a standard pedalboard signal flow, then it’s best to set it to instrument level. If you’re incorporating the H90 into a rack system, patchbay, or amp effects loop, you may want to experiment with line level operation.

    A tip for Eventide: relabel the rear panel audio connectors as 1L, 1R, 2L, 2R. Those are in the 1 to 4 order using your existing labeling which is needlessly confusing.

    I am looking at something like this to use with my Friedman IR-X tube preamp into an Audient iD24 interface. The preamp's TRS balanced out into the combo line/XLR input. The effects unit would go between the IR-X and the interface. Mono will become stereo is the plan. It should work huh?
    Other options include using something like this in the FX send and return of each mic channel of the interface, so I have a stereo effects bus. I need to sus how that works in DAW though (just running directly in would be far simpler for guitar).
    Unlike the H90, most effects units for guitar are not happy about being fed a TRS balanced signal. There's some good ones, but I figure it would require messing around with direct boxes etc. There's enough spaghetti junction of cables as it is. :D

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  2 дня назад

      If two cables are used to connect outputs 1 and 2 to the Audient, then yes, you get stereo signal. Regarding the effects bus in the DAW, as long as you dedicate one or two I/O on the interface to connect the H90, it will always live on that I/O; as with any external effects processor, probably best to run the H90 in kill dry.

    Can you show how to do four cable method with the Friedman IRX and go stereo out with delay. And is it possible to use the main out of the IRX into the Eventide for the power section?

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  6 месяцев назад +2

      Because the IRX only has a mono loop, in order to get stereo effects from the H90, it will have to placed after the IRX. Run the H90 in Dual mode. Connect your guitar to In 1 of the H90. Take Out 1 to the input of the IRX. From the IRX balanced out go to In 3 of the H90. From Out 3&4 of the H90 go to your FFRR monitor or interface. An algorithm you put in Path 1 will be "Pre" and any in Path 2 will be "Post." It may be necessary to change the operating level of path 2 to line level.

    This is a fantastic video and I have watched it many times. But I am still a bit unsure of how I should best route it. My setup with the h9 before was this… GT into l6 hxfx out to a aby pedal into 2 amps and the h9 into the fx loop on one of the amps. That was ok, but not too satisfied with it. I swapped out the h9 for the h90 and still not satisfied. I want to keep the l6 hxfx for the front of amp stuff (dist,wah,noise gate,compressor etc…)and the h90 for fx loop stuff in either one or both amps. Would be cool (maybe) to use both fx loops. Could make some crazy sounds perhaps.. am I over complicating things, or what? Any ideas are appreciated.

    • @joecozzi
      @joecozzi 10 месяцев назад +1

      Are you going for a full stereo rig or a wet/dry rig? Connecting an H9/H90 to only one side is never going to sound optimal. It is possible to connect the H90 to the loop of both amps. Amp 1’s FX loop to In 1 and Amp 2’s FX loop to In 2 of the H90. In Eventide’s MicroPitch Part 2 tutorial they explain how this can be accomplished. Can i use a guitar plugged into the H90, and 2 mono fx loops (distortion pedals and amp sim) and have stereo output? So if this configuration is possible i could use a drop or whammy before the overdrives, then goes into the amp simulation and a stereo reverb or pingpong delay after the amp.

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. Stereo output becomes automatic when the H90 senses both Outs 1&2 are connected in Insert Routing Mode. So, using an Eventide algorithm after the cab sim would generate stereo audio.

    I have two amps, one with an FX-Loop and one without it. Is it possible to connect the eventide H90 to the two amps, using the 4--Cable method/Pre-Post insert routing mode on the first amp that has the FX-loop, and connect it to the front of the second amp? Thank you

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s possible, but definitely not a configuration we recommend for true stereo. Also, this works best if you’re running both amps clean; in this instance, you could use the preamp section of one amp, take the FX send to the H90 and connect one side of the H90 output back to the FX return and the other side to the front of the second amp. Make sure that output is set for instrument level. Here, effects to the front of the one amp would be in mono but effects in the loop would be in stereo.

    Just got mine and really frustrated with the lack of instructions on how to setup in 4CM on the interface. Is there a section that reviews that in these videos because it’s not in the 4CM section. Thanks

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  11 месяцев назад

      We cover two ways to connect in 4CM. The easiest of the two methods is putting the H90’s global routing in Dual mode. Follow the connections in the video. In short, I/O 1 to the front of your amp. I/O 3 to your amp’s effects loop. In the Routing menu, placing a Preset in Path 1 is for the front of the amp, while a preset in Path 2 is for the effects loop.

      @@EJH-jn6mo To switch the global routing mode, go into System menu by pressing Programs and Routing for two seconds. In the Global section, switch Routing to Dual Mode. Once you confirm the change, you’ll have two independent paths to work with. If you press the Routing button, you’ll see both. With the first quick knob, you can place Presets on each path as you wish. If you make the connections outlined in the video, you’ll be able to get 4CM working.

      Presently, this configuration with an insert is not possible. Some users have requested this in the forums; please add your voice. Nevertheless, H90 can achieve a parallel stereo insert with two serial Presets or all three in parallel (stereo insert, Prest A and Preset B).

    Hi there! I have two guitar amps both with effect loops. I won't be using both amps at the same time and just want to know if I can use the H90 for both amps by connecting in/out 1 to amp 1's effects loop and in/out 2 to amp 2's loop so which ever amp I'm using can get the H90 effects? And is it still possible to still add an insert effect with this method?

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  4 месяца назад

      H90 has two routing modes - Insert and Dual mode. The best one for your application is Dual mode because each amp will have a dedicated signal flow. Dual mode, however, does not allow inserts. The reason Insert mode will not work how you want it is because each output cannot be used an independently. When the H90 senses both Outs 1&2 are being used it makes everything function in stereo.

Ok, if i correct it and the snare sound’s mostly original compare dry and wet im happy but i test it. If i restart my mac and start the same project i have again a bit out of sync and the snare sounds like with a phaser effect. If i corrected new its ok till i restart the pc. I am not getting the meaning of dry path, why it is needed? There is way to match gain?

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  Месяц назад

      Dry path refers to the part of the signal chain that does not have any effects. Think of it as guitar straight into the amp.
      To match gain, every Program and preset have individual input and output gain controls that can be used to perfectly balance gain structures in the signal flow. These can be adjusted so that there is no volume disparity when bypassing and activating the H90 or individual presets.

    • @EventideAudio
      @EventideAudio  Месяц назад +1

      If your intention is to try and use Input 1&2 as mono inputs, no, this is not possible. In order to connect 2-3 synths to the H90 you must use a combination of Input 1 (synth 1), Input 3 by way of insert 1 (synth 2), and Input 4 by way of Insert 2 (synth 3). Using the H90 as a mixer in this way is clearly explained at 19:50 in the video.

      Not sure I understand your settings. Did you mean to have one for Out 1? If so, in most cases Out 1 should be line level as well. It depends on the operating level of your amp’s effects loop. In general, bypassing the H90 should not introduce drastic level disparities. That’s how you know operating levels are set properly.
