Balbalungao SRIP to benefit more farmers in Nueva Ecija
The completion of the Balbalungao Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (BSRIP) located in Lupao, Nueva Ecija would benefit five hundred sixty-two (562) farmers and their families from the five barangays namely Balbalungao, San Isidro, Sto. Niño, Salvacion and Mapampang. As of October 15, 2023, BSRIP has recorded 92.55% overall project accomplishment. Hence, construction of this project still remains ahead of schedule.
Even before the expected completion of the dam and its appurtenant structures on January 29, 2024, members of Irrigators Associations (IAs) have been benefiting already from the water reserve that the dam has started to build up to irrigate its service area. Aimed to boost the agricultural production in the rice granary of the Philippines, the Agency led by Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen continues to develop irrigation systems that would support the government’s food sufficiency and zero hunger program for the Filipino people.
