Truly special experience. Thank you for including us. I know it can be a little awkward to take a camera into some places. It is even more special that the tea masters are willing to share the tea knowledge! Cant wait for more videos like this.
@@HoaTruong-km9rk Not as much as you would think with some crafts such as this. For instance ukiyo-e masters are very very very protective of their work and rarely let people see anything other than the more common techniques.
@@connoro1373 what is ukiyoe ? And there's literally no benefit for anyone here to keeping secret. And it not even something special or need to be keep secret. It just how to prepare good tea, please 🙄 it's not that deep and complicated.
My bucket list is now one item longer. For other video ideas, tea houses and shops that are unique and/or in unique settings would be cool. I'm also curious to learn more about yixing and other clays used for teaware.
The amount of concentration and ritual performance on the waitress who served tea was astounding but i guess she was also being watch by her boss/chief/superior? hope she got a rl nice compliment for her excellent performance. also the face of your friend when you guessed correctly the tea was precious!!
Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful video with us! You are doing such important work in sharing the beauty of Chinese tea culture with the world. So many people have automatic negative assumptions about China because often their only contact point is economic and political news, and forget that the people and culture of China are separate to that. You are doing such important work - I’ve always thought that we could all get along much better in the world if we sat down and drank tea with the cultures and people we don’t understand and you prove that it’s true 💜
Awesome video! Its clear that your personality and respect for Chinese culture and the language bring about meaningful relationships which really add a nice personal touch to the videos, as well as them being informative and interesting!
Thanks for sharing- this looks like a wonderful place to visit. The use of the tai chi movements makes it look so elegant and calming. Look forward to seeing you you visit more tea places and hearing about the different types of tea, tea equipment and customs.
My family is from Beijing yet I don’t believe they have been here! I will have to make a stop next time I am back. Your mandarin is excellent with great use of formal vocabulary! 太棒了兄弟!
Such a beautiful place! 💚 was it just at that day or is it usual that women serve the tea and if yes why? I would also be interested about the clothing they wear and maybe i want to know more after rewatching a couple times.😂
That was lovely. Thinking on the owner talking about using spaces like this for doing business or special occasions, I am wondering about the different kinds of tea experiences one might experience there and what the social etiquette might look like in these different spaces. In your videos you are interviewing folks (and I am loving it!) but I wonder what the interplay would look like in a "normal" visit. Are there expectations or customs surrounding interactions with those serving the tea? (beyond what you've been teaching us, of course) When hosting a business meeting, are there expectations for the meeting host to pour for others? How might interactions change with the formality of the tea house? So curious!
That’s a great question - it really does depend on the situation, a combo of the teahouse culture, whatever industry is meeting, and the nature of how close the people meeting are
Very nice and very fancy teahouse. These interview videos are amazing. I wonder what is the etiquette with eating food while drinking tea? I've heard that in Japanese teahouses they serve sweets between the steeps to cleanse the pallet and offset the tea flavour. Is it similar or is snacking not proper?
Wonderful video, thank you very much!!!! Although I am not a tea connoisseur, I can consider myself an enthusiast. I want to get closer to this aspect of Chinese culture. I plan to travel to Beijing. Could you give me the address of Beijing’s Wang Fu Teahouse? A hug from Spain!
I nominate this guy as the new panda since China is taking away all their pandas from the US! Good to have someone bringing positive cross-cultural exchange in a time of high geopolitical tension between China The United States!
Jesse.....think you one tea expert, though not a teacher yet....your knowledge of tea put many of us to shame.. Thanks so much for your videos..looking forward to more..👍👏👏💝🪷
You are an important link between Chinese tea culture and a LOT of Americans! Thank you sir
not only america, many many other places :) , thanks jesse
I'm more of a coffee guy, but I really appreciate a good teahouse. The atmosphere is just unbeatable.

Of course he open to share his knowledge. It' basically a free marketing for his tea house and his culture

The staff was so knowledgeable and reverent of the space and your experience. What a luxury! This is nicer than any restaurant I've ever been to.

Yes there are so many great teahouses here! It’s on my to do list to plan some sort of tea vacation maybe for next spring
I've always wondered what a top-tier Chinese tea house might look like. Now my curiosity has been satisfied. Thank you!

You certainly know your tea! Impressive. I need to make a 3rd trip to China soon!
You are a wonderful ambassador for tea !

I believe it’s just a very well fit Qipao dress! Usually they pick pretty women to make the tea since that seeks to be what guests like 😅

any places in the US you would recommend??
Do they not burn their fingers when holding the porceling with hot water in it or do they just adapt to the heat over time?
They avoid filling it too high but also they have good technique to not tip the cup and spill the water, or make it rise too high on the lid
your chinese sounds incredible did you grow up part chinese?
No I studied in school and then lived in china for nine years haha
