What I’ve noticed that works is to not try to restrict your phone usage, but to plan other activities so you have less time to be on your phone. Forcing yourself to not use your phone will never work, anything that relies only on willpower will ultimately fail.

If it matters, I am 1969 GenX that was lucky enough to have access to a $30k computer starting in 1972 when I was three years old, 25 years into the Information Age with the invention of the transistor - I don't think any other toddler at the time had access to, never mind was encouraged to play games on a computer.
