    Incredible job on the weathering! Especially at that scale. Bandai kits are the best and I'm spoiled because of them and wonder why other model companies can't produce the same. I personally have fallen out of love with lighting models. The expense, the hassle and the fact that the models sit on the shelf 99% of the time not lit doesn't justify all the cost and hassle. At least for me anyway. Excellent job on that Slave 1! Best I've seen!

      @InterstellarModeler  3 года назад +1

      You have a good point there about lighting. Was very excited to do so when all the LED and SMD options became available. I know I said that I decided not to light it because of the options for display but frankly I also just didn't feel like doing so Lol. You're right though, they do sit there unlit most of the time. Thanks for watching, appreciate your compliment too.

    Very nice job with the chipping. I use Vallejo almost exclusively but I haven't had results like yours when trying to chip it. I was doing more of a scrubbing thing with the hairspray technique and the paint tended to tear off like sunburnt skin. I will try doing it like you next time with the salt and gentle rubbing.

      that's reassuring. Not sure what it is I did, the thing just snapped. I was little worried the Mig AMMO solution had something to do with it although I've had no problems with it so far. As noted in another post, I once tried the Tamyia Panel Line solution and it ate away at the soft plastic included with the Bandai Shore Trooper (joints). Everything else on the ship, however, seemed just fine. Too much pressure when rotating the wing I guess ?? Anyway, thanks Marc...I always appreciate your compliments.

      Well I'll be damned, I did't want to wait a week or more for a new jar of this model master acrylic paint in the color Burnt Sienna to come in before I could put the second coat on the engine intake pieces of a little anime space fighter I'm working on and so I figured what the hell, I added some proper acrylic thinner to it and tested some of it on a scrap piece of plastic and it hand brushed on and dried just fine, Same thing when I put the second coat on those intake piece.
      Now I would never try to use what's in this jar in my new air brush, But for hand painting any little pieces I may want to use this Burnt Sienna color on in the future the paint appears to be ok... Guess I got lucky this time :)
