    I have a 3400 Dewalt bought it last year used it once tried starting yesterday it would run for a min and backfire. i took carb all apart checked jet it was clean. Did a youtube search found you. Mine was just the opposite, factory setting screwed down to tight over pressuring pump & motor, took valve apart it was operating fine. left adjustment about where yours was, ran fine....thanks for taking the time

    I have the Dewalt ( Simpson ) 4400,
    The other thing to check is the valves, they crack after a while, I've done 100s of homes, a 25,558 sq ft Beach front hotel in 6 hours and have a 75,000+ sq ft hotel lined up with my Dewalt 4400, it lost pressure but my problem was the center valve, the plastic housing that holds everything inside cracked. It was hard to notice.
    Easy $70.00 fix in 10 minutes.

    UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

    After watching this video I worked on my pressure washer. I did everything shown (except the end nut wouldn't come off so I could not get the spring off). I was able to get the unloader out and the pin was not stuck. It would move up and down. I put it back together and put water to it and it still did not create pressure. I took it off again then took off the other valves to the left of the unloader including the one on top. (I had the hose connected looking to see if there was a full flow of water at the rate of water flow through the hose. It took a little maneuvering and work to get a flow of water from the opening for the unloader but it finally came. There was restricted flow to the left of the unloader so I knew it was something on that side.) Long story short, I took all the valves off and sprayed a little penetrating oil in them. Put them all back on, started the motor, and turned let it run for about 15-20 seconds with the water turned on and whatever was stuck inside broke free and I had pressure. Thanks for the help.

  • @uuutooob9
    @uuutooob9 5 лет назад +1

    Thanks Billy. Repair shops for these will be quite upset that you've revealed one of their big money-makers. Since DeWalt only gives a 2-year warranty on a part that mfgr (AAA) offers 5-year is not impressive. But next pump for my 3800 will be from CAT anyway...
    One comment on your procedure: I believe you should only remove the allen-head screw then back the entire unloader assembly out using nut that is against the pump body, but DO NOT touch the outermost nut that sets the spring pressure and resultant overpressure limit. Getting the later wrong could blow seals (if too high) or reduce operating pressure (too low).

    As we all know city water sucks . So if your going to store your unit over 30 days try using a product made by Black/Decker pressure washer pump lube , I think about $8.00 at Lowe’s but will save you a lot of headache and each can will give you multiple uses. I got some after I had to have my pump rebuilt and now 3 years later no issues at all.

    Maybe you can help. I have a 3300 psi dewalt pressure washer (hose connects under neath the back side, not the style you have) how do you adjust these unloader valves? I’m trying to run a ball valve setup and it’s not drawing pressure on my valve setup. But if I kink the line it will build pressure. So I’m assuming I need to adjust the unloader but I’m not quite sure how, most commercial washers have a black handle that you adjust with but this one doesn’t. Maybe you can help?
