  • Huge thank you to #safariltd for letting me do this reveal!! Over the last few years Safari has been steady remaking the old Carnegie Collection #dinosaurs. There’s not many left to go and it was just a matter of time before they got to #albertosaurus. This is a wonderful update to the old classic. Albertosaurus is a very well known tyrannosaur with surprisingly few figures. It has good balance and I absolutely love the paint job. That mint green and brown really contrasts well together. A fantastic addition to your #dinosaur collection. #howisafari

As usual, it looks better than in stock pictures. Thanks for the review!

It looks very photogenic from that angle 7:23
And I honestly dig the colors. Reminds me of stuff from 90s to mid 2000s dinosaur media like Battat, Chaos Effect, Dinosaur King and so on. Plus to be fair, it's a naturalistic kind of vividness that would still work as camouflage!

You know I’m a sucker for chaos effect. And you’re right. That pattern would melt into the background.

It’s a good looking Albertosaurus from Safari Ltd. Good looking since that Bronze State from The New Mexico Museum of Natural History.

A very nice figure, an improvement on the pretty good Carnegie version. With Alberto, Patagotitan, Zuul, and juvenile T-rex, good see Safari back to doing more than 3 figures and mostly from different dinosaur groups. Always enjoy your 'family reunion' shots.

I wish Mattel made a Gorgosaurus Figure, it is my favorite Tyrannosaur

Such a wicked figure, fantastic Doug Watson piece! The figure safari are yet to replace from the Carnegie collection is the corythosaurus! Its been so long. I think this new Albertosaurus will actually go really well with the old Carnegie corythosaurus with a similar colour palette

Would love a updated corythosaurus. PNSO really didn’t do it for me.

I can't wait for this to be in stock at everything dinosaur (where I get most of my figures) because it looks SO GOOD and the colours don't bother me that much

  • @mynickisalreadytaken

Oh wow. Since i am a bit slow at the Moment with new releases i have to say: Great Work, Doug. The Colouration is not but what i like on bigger Animal, but in this case it looks good. Also, it will not be a PNSO Price aswell and i am absolutely fine with it. The Sculpt is really good. Closed mouths are normally better to me, but the whole pose of the Animal is in high alert and i really like the extremely wide open Mouth.
Congrats for getting the Figure from Safari! And thanks for sharing. This Figure really has something to it.
Doug often sculpts the Arms not tucked it, so i am happy that here, the arms are a bit tucked in. Nitpicking. Great Figure overall. Far from perfect like, but great for what it wants to be, i would say.
EDIT: No, i really think this Albertosaurus is the Safari Theropod i wanted their Daspletosaurus to be. I def. want it :D Maybe just slap a wash on it. Wonderful sculpt.

I do adore Doug's sculpt but as we talked about, the colors are still throwing me. I actually don't think it's the mint pattern as we discussed but how abruptly it changes at the head that is doing it for me personally. When I pick it up, I may try to replicate whole body pattern to the head or at least copy the lower leg striping onto it. Great review buddy and so happy for you that you got to reveal the figure 🍻

    • @DinoScreamReviews

I knew the colors aren’t for everyone. I like bright and flashy so I’m good with it. But I do agree with the abrupt transition.

So if I may ask, is this made of a softer material like most of their other stuff or is it the harder (and easily breakable ) material like last year’s Spinosaurus??

    • @DinoScreamReviews
      @DinoScreamReviews  2 года назад +2

It’s still a hard material but has a slight give to it. I dropped it down about 6 hard wood stairs and it survived lol

Nice review,.. I honestly think the paint on most safari dinosaurs is like a child's toy. The sculp on this Albertosaurus is good on the other hand (Doug Watson´s work), but if you want something that looks like a collector's model, you must go to PNSO, the details and paint scheme on this company is far more realistic and the figures look like models not toys.
On the other hand in a natural environment it would be very difficult for a predator to be successful with those garish colors, it would be like a traffic light for prey,... The garish colors in nature serve to attract attention as poison dart frogs, say "danger I am here"

It’s got nice details but I hate the blue on it. At least it’s better than the nanotyrannus LOL. Still probably get it to repaint and have it next to my pachyrhinos.
