Hannes, my complements on your good use of the English language. Although you are not quite a native English speaker yet, you are very close! Keep up the good work. I am starting my QCX-Mini build now and your videos are very helpful.
Nice build - and how cool to hook it up for the first time and have a 599 station calling CQ! My QCX Mini is in the mail to me now - looking forward to it!
Very nice video. I particularly appreciated including "Smoke On The Water" as accompaniment for the initial power-up, and the "Thank you for not smoking" sign. Good humor! Watching you go through the steps solidified the procedure in my mind and was very helpful. Thanks!
Hannes, excellent job. Congrats for your new and beautiful radio! Hope to make 2-way QSO with our QCX or your QCX to MTR-3B or K1 on my side...hi. 73 Petr
Hi Petr, thanks a lot for your comment - I hope to meet you on the air, soon! Here is the latest little gadget for my QCX Mini: ruclips.net/video/2huLJfk6lfs/видео.html 73 Hannes
Hey John, thanks a lot - you are very kind! I had not used a straight key in years so I felt pretty uncertain using the key and filming at the same time, Hi...
Boy that looks super easy.....too bad mine doesn't align that nicely. I fear one of my IC's is bad EDIT: why are you not hearing a tone during the IQ-Lo-Hi alignment?
Hi, thanks a lot for your comment! The tone on the BPF filtering is very loud, and you are trying to peak it. IQ balance needs to be minimized - on high and low phase frequency you try to null the unwanted sideband. As a result the audio signal should be between 40 and 50 dB lower than when aligning the BPF. To answer your question: you do hear a tone on IQ/low/high freq. settings, but it is considerably lower than the BPF aligning tone! BTW the BPF reading of the numbers on the screen is independend from the volume pot setting, whereas the 10 turn pots for IQ, high and low DO depend on the volume pot setting. So it is advisable to set the volume pot into the half way point to adjust those parameters. I hope this helps!
Hi, please check my other video on the assembly of the QCX Mini and take a closer look. You need good soldering equipment, and it certainly can be done if the builder has a bit of experience, good tools and patience. If you have a friend who can help you, he may want to take a look at the assembly manual on the QRPLabs page...
Eagle Eye Lars posting here...😉😂 Great man, I actually changed them for some reason, and had hoped you wouldn't notice 😂😂😂 Seems like nothing can be hidden from you, which shows me that you are a really focused watcher. Thanks!!!👍👍👍

Is this something a novice builder could successfully build? I have a friend who can help me with the more fine soldering parts.

Hi Roman, many thanks and 73s from here... ;-)
Don’t forget to save the settings !
I am glad you mentioned it Dirk - thanks!
Schöne Taste, was ist das für eine (straight key)?
Das ist ein "Christmas Key" von Morse Express aus dem Jahr 2002. Marshall, N1FN hatte jedes Jahr eine spezielle "Weihnachtstaste" im Sortiment.

Your camera is broken, the color of the earphoneplug changes between black and white and back. :P
