Great update. This eliminates the need to bring along an antenna tuner. Looking forward to the AGC and SSB. Keep up the good work. Edit: antenna analyzer, not tuner*
I assume you meant to say "antenna analyzer", not "antenna tuner." If not, then I don't understand how the SWR measurement function removes the need for an antenna tuner.
@@rst5nn yeah, that’s why I’m stuck at the top of the list. My order is from May. Hans offered me a 20-10 version after I was going to cancel (80-20 is less useful for me in Alaska).
Excellent work....I LIKE it....Alot.👍.....I too am waiting for the 20-10m version. That will for sure be my "cup of tea"...trip my trigger...float my boat...tickle my fancy....etc
❤Thanks for the very interresting Video. I see forward to build my QMX. I've already have the kit, but I want to build it in autumn on rainy days😊. Great work. Vy 73 de Dc4kjs.
Excellent update Sir! I tried it out on a quick SOTA activation this evening and the SWR readout was really useful when tuning my dodgy antenna. Can't wait for future updates.
Wow just amazing Hans!! Thank you for all your tireless work you do for the radio community, I am looking forward to the day my QMX arrives in the wilds of Montana!!!!
Hans, you’ve ruined me… I love the little QMX! Paired with the 3aH 12v TalentCell, my Palm Pico, a tiny K6ARK EFHW, all neatly velcro’d, I simply love it… I’ve even sidelined my KX2 (for now). I use FT8CN & an old Samsung cellphone for digital. Do you make wrist watches? Thanks Hans for the new firmware. 72 de W7UDT
Exciting! My kit should arrive today or tomorrow and sometime near the end of the year a prebuilt. (one for home, one for travel). I can't wait to see the AGC functionality and maybe some capabilities to support other digital modes.
Hans, I love all of my QCX Minis, QDX Hi & Lo, and especially my new QMX LoBander. These transceivers are amazing, and fun to operate. My kits are robust and efficient. I'll likely buy the QMX HiBander next. Six radios and counting...
Around 10:30, Q103 / Q104 shorting issue. The FET slipped right off the board when I tried to adjust it. That turned out to be a good thing as I noticed a solder short remaining which I removed then resoldered the device. No short now😅
Really looking forward to when you get the AGC implemented in the firmware! The thing is a beast and it's easy to get extremely loud signals with this radio. 73, Jonathan KM4CFT
Very nice! One suggestion: instead of displaying reduced PA voltage percentage (e.g., 50%) for SWR measurement, calculate and display reduced power percentage (e.g., 25%).
I got my built one and it is excellent. Thank you Hans. At the moment I am trying to experience FT8 with my home built 20m dipole located in the house which is a compromise. One thing though, is there any way I can work wspr without a gps unit. I could'not find any menu item to set the time like your previous digital transceivers. Any advice? 73, TA3LFT
Great features, you've thought of everything -- as usual. I wonder how you can accurately control PA Vcc. Does it use a PWM regulator under CPU control?
There's a lot of documentation on the QMX page qrp-labs.com/qmx some of which explains this. There's a 12-bit DAC output from the CPU which is multiplied by approximately a factor of 6 to create the PA voltage accurately. It's extremely linear.
@@QRPLabs Thanks, I have read bits of QMX and it is the most thorough and well explained project documentation I've seen. I'll read the entire think soon I hope. Having uC control over Vcc is ideal for PA protection. Well do e on another QRP innovation.
Thank you Hans, sincerely, a small team, but a lot of fun!!!!

It analyzes the tune of antanna, it does not tune.
This is incredibly deep capability for such an affordable rig!!!
Absolutely amazing. Can't wait till the SSB is enabled. My dream radio. Thanks Hans.
This has me super excited for the 20-10 version...I'm #2 on the assembled list, so hopefully very soon!
No, after me 😂
I asked about this version and Hans said that it had this version but not yet tested. This was a month ago on reflector org uk topic.

Yea,
80 is useful for Europe but for Alaska it might be QMX Pro with output 500W for 80m band Alaska QRP :-)
Even better would a 40-15 version.
Placed my order today 20- 10 meters
Great features. Halfway through the build - excellent instructions and construction tips. Thx QRP Labs!
Great features in the new update Hans. Now the QMX has become one of the best HF QRP radios on the market
Hans, it's amazing to see your firmware evolving... thanks for your efforts and continued support. Vy73/55, Tom (DL1HBT)

Really outstanding. A ton of functionality for an incredibly reasonable price. Really looking forward to building my mid band kit.
Great update! Just put in my order for the QMX. I am excited, but I am getting it preassembled so there will be a long wait. Can't wait to get it!
More impressive than I thought. Great features and explanation. Thanks

Yes, AGC! --N2GX
Yes, AGC is a must. Come on, Hans! Great job on this, love mine even more.
Friends, qcx lived without AGC for years. Even now I use qcx mini without agc to feel super clear and transparent air :-)
Thank you for your work!

I would love to have 10/11 meters band on QMX

I was wondering what is the range of RX if it's used as an SDR receviver (connected to the PC for example) ? I couldn't find this info anywhere ...

Does this radio have AGC now?
It’s been years talking about adding ssb. I don’t think it will ever happen.
