Godfrey debated with DJ Vlad on whether Cosby Show actor Geoffrey Owens failed as an adult for working at Trader Joe's. Godfrey explained that he doesn't think Owens failed as an adult for getting a job to support his family when he wasn't getting acting gigs.
During the sit-down, Godfrey shared why acting and stand-up are different things, and he added how the stand-up hustle has afforded him a comfortable living. To hear more, hit the above clip.

For real Vlad needs to STFU forever on this topic. Like he trying to bully and insult a man for working and trying to earn honest money for honest work, legally. Vlad is the epitome of being a culture vulture, he will talk shit and make fun of working class, middle class, or poor people trying to do the right thing to get by. But post videos, clips, and content about negative content that fits into the narrative of ghetto, hood, and criminal behavior. Like I respect VLad on trying to give some business and investing advice, but he need to realize very few people actually going to make it, in being millionaires and hitting it rich. Hard work, intelligence, and skill play an important role but you also need to have luck riding with you. Thats what he fails to understand. Many people that reach the top 1 percent that did not inherited wealth were mostly lucky in given circumstances. This is why I love Godfrey he ain't afraid to tell Vlad how shit really is out here, life is not simple and most people don't end up rich or become millionaires; and that's okay. Just because someone is not a millionaire or billionaire does not mean they failed in life. Just because someone works for a living and takes responsibility for their family life, finances, health and wellbeing, and does not harm anybody does not mean their a failure.

I made residuals off the music industry from the time I got out of college and for over twelve years time... However, from age 22-32 I worked multiple jobs because I wanted to ... I worked jobs at radio stations as well as upscale retail outlets... I used to keep multiple jobs just because... Some jobs were very little stress and easy to manuever with my overall schedules so I took those jobs as well as the "so called" glamorous positions in radio, cable industry etc... While helping to produce shows on BET you could also find me at Mars Music or the Olympic Committee doing hourly jobs as well...
In addition to having many jobs I had my own company doing marketing and sales for record labels to advertising agencies... With all that I shut my business down.... I was in a reorder of my life.... I recall something in me telling me to work for a retail store called Linens & Things... I felt it was beneath me but I took it because I needed a job... Many different jobs later I remember a friend saying I should come work for him at a grocery store... I was like, "Hell no"... (With a college degree and over a decade of experience in different fields of work)... Ultimately, the universe made it to where I ended up working at the grocery store... As I rose up the ranks quickly something in me told me to write a corporate restructuring plan for the entire company... I quit when some wicked Manager tried to demote me for something stupid... (I later launched an investigation against her which turned up she was embessling hundreds of thousands of dollars out the store).... She was trying to get rid of me because I was thorough with the accounting books of the store...
I continued putting the restructuring plan together... About 3 years later I walked that plan into that Grocery Retailers corporate office... All my training from past sales and promotion positions allowed me to know how to sell my plan to the company... They were my first client and I walked out with a $25,000 check just to try my ideas out for 90 days... I landed another contract with the company for 4 years at $300k... I just renewed my contract this year for a whole lot more... This only accounts for one of my income streams...

Also, ALLLLLLLLLLLLL of the Cosby cast was affected and were all giving interviews about being stressed for money (every last one except for Raven Simone who capitalized of That's so Raven, clothing, and singing)... BTW, Trader Joe's is polled and reportedly the number #1 workplace in the nation per employees... They have great benefits and tend to be stress free according to workers....

I appreciate Godfrey checking Vlad. People have success, some fuck it up and get chances for a do over. Even if they don't, it's how they respond in bad times shows true character. Vlad need to keep it perspective, life comes at you fast. Shit can happen to you!
I dig the VLAD platform, but cuz just said "I promote financial literacy and planning"...But i have not seen ONE episode with any financial advisors on the show, to help entertainers(blacc people) or any of the VLAD supporters...Things that make you go hmmm!!!

Failed as an adult, stop buying the hype of Yale and Ivy Leagues and college degrees. There are a ton of people with degrees working at 56, and not in what their degree is in. He's paying his bill, taking care of his family, and not hurting people, thats the goal of being an adult.
