It's amazing how a "pop culture" youtube make up artist would sell this as a everyday natural makeup look, and the professional make up artists call it dramatic.
Here's some more explanation of those editorial photos: The photographer shoots from below the models face, not from the front. And the model looks slightly down with her eyes so you see more of the lid aka the product applied to it. :)
Bunny Tsukino this is so true ! ive done editorial shoots and i have very large eyes and even if i look forward my eyes look small. they do exactly what jessica said, shooting underneath and closing the eye slightly
I have enough space between the lid and the brow but i have really hooded eyes so to shot my editorials i always pull up my eyebrow muscle and adjust my camera angle so my shots look soo much better but in real life those eyelooks almost never look flattering on me because, you know, i don't go out there in public keeping my eyebrows arched and head tilted 24/7 lol When you are about to compare yourself to anything Instagram related, search for the details like lighting, camera angles, pose, etc and see if you are bad at x or you just need to perfect how to take photos :)

You and Robert Welsh are the only people who have truly given me alternative ways to do my makeup that is appropriate for my face. Everyday you guys make me appreciate myself and become more and more comfortable in my skin. Thank you for allowing me to realize that what I’ve been seeing online for years is not complimentary to my face type or shape and that everything about me is perfectly NORMAL. I don’t have to use concealer as a base. I do have big pores and little space to work with eyeshadow. I do have a smaller forehead and shouldn’t contour so harshly for risk of looking like I smeared dirt on my face. It thanks to you both that I’m learning to love myself again. Thank you so much ☺️💛💛
Alexandra Anele is pretty good too for explaining different placements of makeup like where you put blush or how you use eyeliner and how that changes the way your face looks.
Because they select the shape that will sell the most make up. I don't even want to think about all the money I wasted by buying all of those eyeshadow pallets (to imitate the looks that were/are promoted) before realizing, that they don't even look good on my eyes because of their shape and minimal, way cheaper products compliment my eyes the best.
imo it's because with hooded eyes, smaller lid crease, etc, it doesn't look as dramatic. it's easier to sell (both makeup and as a youtuber) if it looks a specific way. it's kind of how insta models look absolutely amazing but the average woman in the US has a waist size about 10 inches larger! they're selling the fantasy rather than the accessible
People just remember, even if when we look straight in the mirror we can't see our eyeshadow even though we worked hard to make it look good, when we talk with people they can see it when we blink or look down etc. So that's something
This is so true. That’s why, if you’ve done a lot of work on an eyeshadow look and don’t feel like it turned out the way you intended, don’t just take a selfie. Take a short video of yourself blinking naturally and looking in all directions. Then you’ll see what others see when they look at your eyes. You’d be surprised how much of your eyelids is visible, even for those of us with hooded eyes.
If u want to see the finished product well, put your head down with your phone below your head aiming at your eyes and u can get a pic of what it looks like. That’s how they get these great editorial shots as well.
This reminds me of the opposite where some people will either think that nobody will notice their eye makeup imperfections or they do not look at their makeup from any other point of view than what they see in the mirror...such as winged liner not extended to the corner of the eye, or gaps between liner and lashes...etc. Like, the makeup will look good from the front with their eyes open but any other, time not so much
Yes! The day I accepted my hooded and deep set eyes and started to learn techniques to use that to my advantage... was the day I was finally so much happier with the way my makeup turned out. We cant all be makeup models. 🤷♀️
She literally brings the color up to her brows and above her nose, then makes her own eye brow tail, she creates the space. She has amazing bone structures tho so her brow bone does have a good amount of space.
Nikki has huge head, that’s why she has space for 7 different eye shadows on her lids and her cheeks can hold 5 different contour & highlight shades. 😆 She’s gorgeous though so yeah I’m still gonna try to recreate her looks despite my mini head and hooded eyes 😂
yes! haha sometimes I put makeup on just for fun and to take some pictures. Everytime I would be disappointed because what I was seeing in the mirror was never what I saw in the pictures. Recently, I got new glasses and I realized that I was thinking that the makeup look was good because I couldn't see it properly in the mirror haha sad
Oh god, same here! -7,75 and astigmatism... applying eyeshadow and kajal is SO tricky! And the glasses make the eyes look even smaller. And I already have small eyes and verrry droopy eyelids with very prominent upper eyelid skin. Don't even get me started at the pluckin the eyebrows problem! Luckily I often wear contact lenses when I go out. But eye make up with small eyes, droopy eyelids and myopia glasses is truly a struggle.
That actually explains why all my every day looks end up looking either really dramatic, or people tell me me I don't wear makeup when I do... There is no middle with this eye shape
I have deeper set eyes and not much space between my eyes and brows, and I've found that a single shade (like a subtle nude-ish pink with a touch of shimmer) all over the eyelid looks nice, with just a little bit of dark brown shadow right against my lash line (basically using it as eyeliner but with a softer line), plus plenty of mascara. My eyes have enough shadow naturally that adding more shadowing just makes them too dramatic for an everyday look.
When I first tried doing a wing was when I discovered all eyes are not created equal! Thank you for the reminder that the geography of the eye really does affect the look. If you don’t have the lid/brow space, there is only so much compensating you can realistically do. I also very much appreciate how you don’t ever play with insecurities or try to make your subscribers feel inadequate. 🥰👍
Margaret Hollins Yep - I have the same problem. That’s why I switched to a ‘feline flick’ instead. Gives lift to the eyes but doesn’t get rubbed off by the skin. A lot of RUclipsrs disparage that as a look, but I think it is pretty and certainly a lot better than a badly smudged wing! 😆👍
My eyes r hooded and down turned so only wings that can work on my eyes is if I do the bigger wing kinda like graffic liner wing which I very rarely do. Its crazy seeing someone do a look on RUclips up close then the pic they post on insta looks like completely diff look all the edits I like seeing unedited pics
Allyson Improta Maybe if you don’t like full on liner, just try the push technique into your lash line. That gives definition to the eye without any major line.🙂 However, if you don’t like any liner, don’t feel forced to wear it. Make up should be about what makes you feel prettier, not about what everyone else is doing. If you like your eyes without liner, leave them like that. 👍 Trust your own aesthetic.
I once blended my eyeshadow a little bit higher up my eyelid so that it would show when my eyes are open. My co-worker asked me why I looked like I was about to perform on a stage 😂
My male co-worker tells me I look like a clown when I wear bold lipstick! The best thing I heard someone say is, so what? One person's opinion always sticks with us! An ex boyfriend prefers our hair this way or one kid in school 20 years said our nose was big..its so silly when *i* think about it. I'm not saying you should, it was just an ah-ha moment for me. You rock that eyeshadow because we can see it with our hooded eyes 😍
@@alinatherese1115 I think the difference is hearing someone who actually cares more about makeup and gets what you're going fof and giving you constructive criticism. I learned to ignore ppl lkke some guy telling me how I look because they don't like it (what does he know lol), but listen to say my female friend who gets what I was going for. I've also realized I don't get mad when my sister doesn't like how I do my makeup because its preference. She's just trying to help as I ask for her opinion. I can change what I want to based on it and keep what I like. Also found out I can have a more dramatic look by putting more eyeshadow on mybrows and side of eyes, and less when say I go to work and don't want it too extra
I’ve been watching you for years so I can’t believe you have used this image from CT as I’ve done the makeup for it! ♥️♥️♥️ I’m happy you like it Alesandra xx
A M C . Don’t look at people with a different bone structure than yours and be mad that it doesn’t look like you. This is the eyelid space that this model has. DO NOT blame the makeup artist because the model has a lot of brow bone space.
@@Phoenixhunter157 Thank you for speaking up. AMC's comment was needlessly harsh and unkind. I think the makeup artist did a wonderful job. The model may not represent my eye shape, but the look can be an inspiration.
This is why I stick to natural eyeshadow looks. The makeup industry (especially youtube and Instagram makeup) has us thinking that we have to have different and bold makeup looks every day. We even critique RUclipsrs that do different variations of the same makeup look. In reality, when you look at celebrities, a lot of them wear the same makeup looks all the time. Look at some of the most beautiful celebrities of all time and you'll see what I mean. Scarlet Johanson, Beyonce, Marilyn Monroe, Naomi Campbell, Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyongo. Even Rihanna does this, which is crazy because she has her own makeup line. She might change the colors here and there, but she mostly wears the same looks. The exception is in music videos or vogue covers and her Fenty campaigns. When she's on an interview, red carpet, insta live etc, she looks natural. These celebrities pick a look that works for them and stick to it. Unless you're a makeup artist, you don't need a thousand different pallets and lipsticks. Find what looks best on you and stick to that. Experiment from time to time. Try a different color here, but make sure it works for YOU. Not some random look you saw on an Instagram models that face tunes tf out of her pictures, or an editorial looks that edits tf out of these pictures. It's unrealistic.
Right! That's why I just take those as suggestions, because my hypersensitivity forces me to use only certain kinds of products, particularly when it comes to eye makeup.
Also 4 ppl that like this, check out Lori Hill who will show you how many surgical procedures ALL OF THE WOMEN MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE COMMENT have gotten and you'll realise how not real it is and how someone was lucky to have enough money to buy fame and status, also there are rich people and famous people who Don't do this stuff, so it's not as if its a privilege thing, it's wanting to be idolised so badly that you sacrifice the rest of your life to be an image
Yes!!! Wayne was recommended on a Robert Welsh video. Love him. Only just started watching wayne today and immediately thought he must be a trained MUA because he works so much like Robert. I love their realistic tutorials and blatant honesty. Also enjoy that they are both older because I'm closing in on 40 myself so I feel like I respond to their content so much better.
wayne i would love to see you do the same eye look on each of the different eye shapes, show us why it does or doesn’t work and then how to modify it for the eye shape on the other eye! you might’ve already done this but i would love to see it all at once.
Figuring out how to work with my very hooded eyes was a gamechanger for me. I take inspiration from other peoples' looks, then adapt it to my own eye shape.
This is something I struggled with A LOT until I learned that my eyes weren’t meant for Pinterest looks, and I had to find my own way. I’m so glad this was brought to attention
When I was first doing makeup and started makeup school i would get so kisses that my makeup didn’t turn out like the magazines. The instructors would say how well I did. I wouldn’t believe them and ask them to explain it to me. They also reminded me that all those photos and tv shows are all filtered! They enhance the look to make it look perfect. Which I always knew this, but it’s very discouraging. It’s the same with RUclipsrs when they are in natural light or natural video you will notice how cakey their foundation really looks.
Oh the full coverage foundation dream. RUclipsrs say the foundation is full coverage then I buy it and it is just medium cover. They never do close ups and the blurring filters are easy to spot now. There is a video of a girl using the Fenty matte foundation where she has her face full of hyperpigmentations and dark spots. She used Fenty and it covered everything. I bought the foundation and soon realized that to have that look I'd have to use a ton of it. Fortuntaely, I tried it at home first. It was heavy. The foundation didn't just blend well with my skin. After 2h I was a cake mess when the foundation mixed with my oils.
I also find that a lot of youtubers use a foundation that’s not their skin tone (possibly because they’ll have so much direct lighting on them). So when you seem them in vlogs (ie more natural lighting conditions) their face looks almost yellow. I think Buzzfeed’s ladylike did one of Huda Beauty’s eye looks and had her react to it and her foundation is definitely not the same colour as the rest of her skin. Lighting matters and that’s probably why we seem sucky at make-up when we’re not
This has discouraged me from even trying eyeshadows, everytime i give it a go, i just instantly look more tired and old, because of the eye shape. Figuring it out is a process for sure. It's slowly happening for me too, but like it's REALLY SLOW, not to mention that a lot of looks you just can't even wear because of it.. You need all the willpower not to give up. Sometimes it turns out nice and i'm like "what exactly did i do differently?", then as soon as i think i figured it out, it comes out as crap again LOL! Patience is hard to have when you don't have the perfect bone structure...You're the only make-up person online that actually gave me ideas on how to work with my eye shape rather than quit and stick to mascara alone, cuz nothing else looks right, ever.
So, a great solution for all us “small spaced “ eyelid owners is one beautiful flattering eyeshadow blended out above the actual lid...you simply can’t go wrong and there are so many eyeshadows that work as your singular color. At least this is what I do often when I don’t feel like creating the impossible look. 🤷🏼♀️
Yes! I like to put a lighter shade all over my lid, not quite to my brow. Then a touch of a medium shade on the outer half of my lid only to the crease, then line the lash line with a darker color. Blending it all so there are no sharp edges. It works well for me. I don’t usually bring any of the colors out to the “cat’s eye” area, because it doesn’t work well for me.
I'm a portrait photographer and I typically have to edit the eyes a lot, I'm dodging and burning contour & highlight because the eye makeup is never quite picked up on camera. Now, when I take pictures of myself they look very hooded, I've taken up the habit of minimal eye makeup because you can't even see the hard work in post. I just burn eyeliner, dodge the inner corner because ....less work!!
Because we are real people with real jobs with a limited time to put makeup on every morning. I have so many palettes as well and only get to use them on occasion. I suggest putting makeup on for fun sometimes on the weekends when you have a bit of time if you want to work on your skills , but I'm sure you do a great job already!! 😊
I know you’re probably told this in the comments on each and every video, but I really like how “real” you are. Very down to earth. That’s why I enjoy your videos. You keep it real and simple. Cheers from North Carolina, USA!
For a woman who rarely wears makeup you are a magician! I have never (until your videos) understood why my eyeshadow could never achieve what I saw on other women. An understanding of my hooded eyes, and small lid space makes me much more confident. Thank you for keeping it real!
You said what i realized after many trials to have an eye look like those, that my eyelide is smaller otherwise initially i had started thinking that i m not good in blending or may be I'm not good enough to apply various shades on my eyelid😄
Wayne, when you "fixed it" MY JAW DROPPED. You are so brilliant! Not only are you simple incredibly talented, but you have such an ability to teach and show what and how to do it! You are amazing and a true gift! God bless you & sending you much much love!
I got so tired of tutorials for "cut crease on hooded eyes", and yes, they are hooded, but they still have this huge space up until the brow, so they say "just draw the line above your actual crease" bitch I have no space. I'm not saying those tutorials are not helpful, they're just not helpful to me and I kinda lost hope with wearing a cut crease.
I have such a respect for Wayne that everytime he is doing makeup on himself, I dont see it as a man doing his makeup (nothing wrong at all with that BTW) I see him as an artist creating art that so happens to be makeup. It's only with this man that my mind forgets the obvi and just sees pure creativity to its finest💛⭐⭐
Ah Wayne, teaching us more in 8mins that in most others 45min vids. This is why I love you, simple, concise, and for the real person. I cannot begin to tell you how much my makeup game has changed (for the better) since finding you and for that I’ll be forever grateful xx
I just want you to know your pallet has quickly become my go to It’s so flattering on my 50 year old eyes and I just automatically reach for it over all my others thank you 🙏
I remember having a very hard time doing my eyeshadow when I first got into them. This was at the time when the first Naked palette was released, so luckily there were lots of RUclips tutorials for help, however, I was struggling. Years later, I finally figured that I just had different eye shape from the average RUclipsr, but oh the frustration that I went through by the time I figured it out! Lol Funnily, I'm unable to create winged liners now as my lids became more hooded with age, but in my 20's that's all I wore. I do miss it, but now I only do a small flick along with shadow work that I finally figured out and adapted to my eye shape. I do think the upside of having unusual eye shape is that we become more skilled with eyeshadow, simply because of having had to practice A LOT to figure out how to do our eyes. There's an upside to everything it seems!
The inner half of my eyelids are completely hooded (there's literally no eyelid visible at all) but the outer half isn't. I never tried liquid eyeliner until I was 20 because I just thought it would never suit my eye shape. Then I just tried it on a whim and found that it looks AMAZING and makes a huge difference to my eyes (I wing it out and only go 1/3 of the way into my eyelid, I don't go across the whole length of the eyelid like how most people do it). It's all about finding what suits you personally :)
I only wear eyeliner of my bottom lids. I actually had a friend post something on facebook about how people need to stop wearing eyeliner on the bottom only because it looks awful. I told her that I only wear on my bottom and she was shocked because my eye makeup looked good. You have to do what works for you and not go by trends.
@@augusto7681 I just realized that i put inner but it should say outer. I actually find the eyeliner makes them look less droopy because it brings the focus to my bottom lids instead of the top lids.
I’ve always appreciated how real you keep it. Over the past 4 years I’ve been blessed with two sons - and my makeup routine has changed drastically to accommodate time for my babies. Your approach always makes me feel good about doing makeup - even as simple and I keep it now. You are the best Wayne!
Thank you for clarifying this. As I have gotten older my lid space has gotten smaller. I try to do these looks that I see in tutorials, but it never comes out right. Trying to smudge my lower lash just falls into the lines under my eyes and looks like I smeared it. I finally gave up wearing make up. This makes so much sense to me that I am going to try again, and lower my expectations. Maybe use lighter colors, Like beiges and light browns. Thank you again Wayne for giving me hope
I realized I can't use shadow on the lower lash line. Makes me look like an overworked hooker. Instead I go for a colored liner. Easier to work with & thinner line...might work for u
Use a very thin brush and a medium brown shadow to line under your lower lashes if you have light skin. For me, eyeliner is too harsh because it creates a hard, artificial looking line. The eyeshadow color I use is very subtle and doesn't require smudging.
E Dennis I’m not afraid to use shadow under my eye I’m just not exactly good at it anymore and that’s when you know you’re getting old SMH🤦🏼♀️ You’re right though! Maybe I’ll try using an angle brush and a lighter color brown, and then if I lighten the inside of my waterline with a flesh colored pencil hopefully that’ll work out better. Everybody’s been very helpful thank you all so much. Stay safe
I never thought about that or how someone could easily be raising their brows to create that space that I definitely don't have. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Genius!!! I love how you do the lower lash line first this is a incredible technique to keep you from bringing down the shadow too low while blending your top lid! I can't wait to try this out! I swear I can watch your videos over and over and keep learning new stuff I missed. Amazing content as always thank you!!! 💋💕
That's why I'm missing 3/4"s of my eyebrows...so I can make my own damn lid space in my otherwise nonexistent ones. 🤣 Also, in that editorial version, the eyeshadow does actually go pretty much all the way up the eyebrow as well. It actually just looks like there's just a sliver of highlight at that top. So pair that with a larger lid space and it does look a lot more dramatic.
I absolutely love your eyes with a nice thick black border. They look like jewels. I love how you so often offer alternative techniques for the same look on a different face shape. It's so useful and fun.
That orange-y brown you started with us SO PRETTY on you!! It REALLY brings out the blue of your eyes! Color theory at work 😊 As always, very helpful and really gorgeous!! 🧡💙🧡

Thank you for your explanation of lid space..as a MUA I just love doing makeup on all eye types. Lid/brow bone ratios, crease types, deep set to prominent eyes all come into play for shadow/liner placement based on the look you want to achieve!!! Love you always !!!!
This is why a lot of people that go to makeup artist and show them a foto of what they want and it doesn’t come out the way they want it to be is because of the way there eye lids are and if the eyebrow is high or low

"This is dramatic" LOL. Dead. This is shopping during the fall makeup for me. LOL. But as to your video. I agree with you! You have to recreate the look according to your personal eyes, I learned this yeaaaaaaaaaaars ago. Everyone was deep in to smoking out there bottom lid with dark colors, and I realized that I couldn't do that because it would just close my eye off. My eye would look so small, like I had been hit in the face. So I learned to bring that lower lid color only so far in, and leave my tear duct blank or with a lighter color. Our eye shapes are different and beautiful, and we must master our own techniques for them.
For people having limited space between eye lid and eyebrow: I have a lot of space there, but the eyelid is so hooded, it makes no sense and eyeshadow brought too high still looks extra-dramatic 😂. Ideal youtube eyes are very rare, they shouldn't be a guiding point for the majority of us! 👍
Makeup artists like you, Robert Welsh and Alexandra Anele have improved my makeup skills drastically over quarantine. You guys have also helped me realized that makeup irl is not like the pictures. Thank you for raising my confidence in makeup :)
I also have a small eye and whenever I tried to use my fancy pallette, I ended up looking like I had been punched in the face ... now I know the reason
Lord I need this , my eyes , the upper part is so puffy and thic , it literally pressure down and make the space between my eyes and the brows smaller and smaller
No matter how much time passes, I still always come back to You, Your motivation and tips! Thank You, Wayne, for giving me the self-confidence, kindness and knowledge I needed! 😄
I have this huge eye space and find it so difficult to put makeup on as “youtubers” don’t have they large eye space and I have nothing to see as inspiration.
I feel your pain, I struggle to do more subtle looks, it's always ends up looking too over done, or dramatic because I've so much space. Some day we'll figure it out!

I do have a smaller forehead and shouldn’t contour so harshly for risk of looking like I smeared dirt on my face. It thanks to you both that I’m learning to love myself again. Thank you so much ☺️💛💛
Agreed
Both are professional trained MUA not influencers who can only do their own makeup and that does make a difference.
I love them both too!
Alexandra Anele is pretty good too for explaining different placements of makeup like where you put blush or how you use eyeliner and how that changes the way your face looks.
i recommend lisa eldridge too if you like this
This begs the question: why aren't more eye shapes represented in the beauty industry?
Because they want to show off as much eyeshadow as possible
@Angie Sunkissed wait im slow lol whats the pun
Because this shape can get the most shadow applied on, and they want you to use as much product as possible
Like, the makeup will look good from the front with their eyes open but any other, time not so much
Omg never thought about that when I take selfie and I never see all of that eyeshadow I’ve put on.
Just make sure u take extra long blinks so people can really see the beauty of the eyeshadow ☺️
The day I embraced my hooded eye shape is the day my eyeshadow technique became infinitely better. Thanks Wayne! 💕
Yes! The day I accepted my hooded and deep set eyes and started to learn techniques to use that to my advantage... was the day I was finally so much happier with the way my makeup turned out. We cant all be makeup models. 🤷♀️

Bro I swear Nikki tutorials has like 10 miles of lid and crease space impossible to recreate anything she does
😂😂
Uhm im not sure about this but ofc they possibly had something done on their brows/lids.
@@carmzan7253 I’m pretty sure Nikkie does actually pluck her brows, at the very least she draws them on in a slightly different place

Haha plucking eyebrows is an adventure without my glasses on!
But eye make up with small eyes, droopy eyelids and myopia glasses is truly a struggle.

also don't skip ads so he gets the revenue
Me too! I thought I been buying a bad quality shadow.. I have Asian eyes so....
Every time I do a wing it always seems to smear straight away! No wings for me!! 😢
I think I look so weird with any eye liner. But idk everyone else wears it so many I should just wear it every day until I get used to it ...?
Allyson Improta Maybe if you don’t like full on liner, just try the push technique into your lash line. That gives definition to the eye without any major line.🙂 However, if you don’t like any liner, don’t feel forced to wear it. Make up should be about what makes you feel prettier, not about what everyone else is doing. If you like your eyes without liner, leave them like that. 👍 Trust your own aesthetic.
I once blended my eyeshadow a little bit higher up my eyelid so that it would show when my eyes are open. My co-worker asked me why I looked like I was about to perform on a stage 😂
Yes ! I have more eyelid space, but I have to refine it, as it does appear dramatic.
I also raised my eyebrows slightly
@@alinatherese1115 I think the difference is hearing someone who actually cares more about makeup and gets what you're going fof and giving you constructive criticism.
This comment is it!
Right! That's why I just take those as suggestions, because my hypersensitivity forces me to use only certain kinds of products, particularly when it comes to eye makeup.
Also 4 ppl that like this, check out Lori Hill who will show you how many surgical procedures ALL OF THE WOMEN MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE COMMENT have gotten and you'll realise how not real it is and how someone was lucky to have enough money to buy fame and status, also there are rich people and famous people who Don't do this stuff, so it's not as if its a privilege thing, it's wanting to be idolised so badly that you sacrifice the rest of your life to be an image

wayne i would love to see you do the same eye look on each of the different eye shapes, show us why it does or doesn’t work and then how to modify it for the eye shape on the other eye! you might’ve already done this but i would love to see it all at once.
Figuring out how to work with my very hooded eyes was a gamechanger for me. I take inspiration from other peoples' looks, then adapt it to my own eye shape.
Check out Risa Does Makeup for tips on hooded eyes as well as Wayne.
Alissa Ashley also has hooded eyes, her tutorials are easy to follow as well
This is something I struggled with A LOT until I learned that my eyes weren’t meant for Pinterest looks, and I had to find my own way.
I feel ya 100 percent!!
I totally agree. No matter how many videos I watch, I still struggle with eyeshadow looks on my hooded eyes.
I am a fan of the single eyeshadow look with the few eyeshadow I can use.
I suck at eye shadow. I have 20 damn eye shadow pallettes and I use bronzer for a super quick easy shadow 😩 whyyyyy lol
😂I can relate to that!!!
Same girl!
Quite frankly i look best with natural simple make up. I stick to it)
🙋♀️ me too! Plus my eyes are hooded 🤦♀️

Lol
Funnily, I'm unable to create winged liners now as my lids became more hooded with age, but in my 20's that's all I wore.

The flowers, candles, and ambiance are always so beautiful in the videos.

Eleza Blackshear I’m down with using some color. Maybe a liner pencil! Thank you very much!
Stay safe
I don't bother trying to use shadow or liner on my lower lash line. It always looks terrible on me.

That's why I'm missing 3/4"s of my eyebrows...so I can make my own damn lid space in my otherwise nonexistent ones. 🤣
Also, in that editorial version, the eyeshadow does actually go pretty much all the way up the eyebrow as well. It actually just looks like there's just a sliver of highlight at that top. So pair that with a larger lid space and it does look a lot more dramatic.

I've been watching you since you did your how to use the mac cosmetics powder foundations, concealers and you deserve A LOT MORE SUBSCRIBERS. I love how real you are.
Just wanted to put something on while doing my makeup 🥰
Thank you SO MUCH for these videos! It's really hard to find tutorials/advice for hooded eyes that aren't dismissive and/or vague and unhelpful. Your videos have helped a ton!!
I don't "think" I'm bad at eye-shadow.. I "KNOW" 🙃
Thanks for helping! 💖
AHAHA! I love it. Totally relatable.
This is such a great tutorial with details not much talked about and most of us have difficulty with makeup applications!!Thank you....💐💐
“it’s totally popping out for a little stroll around the park with the dog” 😂😂😂
Wayne, you always make me feel better, just the sound of your voice. Having a very rough time here in California as I just found out our cabin burned down in the Santa Cruz fire. This is a much needed distraction. 💖
am so sorry to hear that! I live in Silicon Valley, so am also close to the fires. Hope you and yours are safe!! That's what is most important!
" I can't see a bloody thing" ! 🤣
💓 lots of love from Greece! 💓
You're just bloody brilliant and I appreciate how useful every bit of your content is. Thank you!
I tend to leave the lower lash line bare because the shadows look too stark on me otherwise....I’m probably doing it wrong 😂
thank you so very much for taking the time to do this! It is so very important that people realize that they aren't messing up because they don't look like those that are on Instagram! Well done!!
Wayne Goss I love u😘 used to go crazy when I could never achieve that look. Now I know 😂
Lol same!
This video is beautiful in so many ways. Also, the flowers in the background are gorgeous.
This is one of THE best eyeshadow tutorials I've seen. Very calm, explains everything and understands!
Same problem here!
Brilliant! I'm always noticing the model's makeup looks so much more natural than what can be duplicated
Lord I need this , my eyes , the upper part is so puffy and thic , it literally pressure down and make the space between my eyes and the brows smaller and smaller
OMG samee T_T
No matter how much time passes, I still always come back to You, Your motivation and tips! Thank You, Wayne, for giving me the self-confidence, kindness and knowledge I needed! 😄
I have this huge eye space and find it so difficult to put makeup on as “youtubers” don’t have they large eye space and I have nothing to see as inspiration.
Love how you give your tutorials; really in depth with the explanation as how and why you do what you do
anybody else have like 80% brown bone and 20% eyelid, even when they look straight ahead?
Oh yeah
Girl I have so much space but I have slightly hooded eyelids 😴
@@aspenisthebest me too.
More like 10% eyelid 😭😭
I have way too much space between my lid and brow and its hard to work with without looking crazy 😑
I feel your pain, I struggle to do more subtle looks, it's always ends up looking too over done, or dramatic because I've so much space. Some day we'll figure it out!
@figuring it out exactly!! And if I try to thicken up my brows it looks ridiculous too!
I’m 54 and have a huge amount of space to work with - it’s just as daunting trying to make it look ok. I can do my friends with smaller eyes so much easier than mine
You are so amazing and been here long and still loved cuz you keep it real and make us realise what can be achieved if we work with what we have rather than what we see/want.
Thanks for being here .🙂
Greetings from Argentina!
Ohh boy, you did it again! You make me feel that I'm not wrong, what's wrong is trying to be like someone we see in Instagram. We are just beautiful the way we are, and with your videos the best version of each one. Gratings from Argentina, I love you
