    As I've been watching your videos for a while, and I've seen you fix this issue multiple times, I think I've understood your diagnostic process.
    Symptom: PS3 shows red light that turns to green, but then the system either immediately loses power or loses it after a second.
    Diagnosis: it's all about ruling out components, that is, figuring out what is NOT causing the issue.
    1 you test whether or not the power supply is causing the issue. So, you swap the PS3's own power supply to a different PS3's power supply. There are two possibilities: either the PS3 will now turn on or nothing changes. If it turns on, the fault must be in the power supply, because it's the only component that was changed.
    However, of the system doesn't turn on, then you know that the power supply is not causing the issue (or at least it's not the only cause).
    2 The PS3 is powered by 12 "mini" power supplies on the motherboard. These mini power supplies only work at certain voltages, so if the voltage is incorrect, the PS3 will protect itself by shutting itself down.
    The mini power supplies are regulated by resistors. If there is an incorrect voltage it's caused by a resistor that doesn't output correct voltage.
    3. You need to test which out of the 12 power supplies is not outputting the correct voltage. You can test it by measuring the resistance values of their resistors.
    4 Once you've found a resistor that has an incorrect output value, you need to replace it by a resistor that will output the correct value. Now, you only need to do the final test: does the PS3 turn on? If it does, the issue was indeed caused by the resistor, if not, then there's probably another fault that needs to be found and fixed.
    P.S. If your PS3 stays on for 30 seconds before it shuts down, it's likely that the fault is caused by something other than one of the resistors in question.

    Thank you for sharing Master Jedi of electronic repair. Better improvement video, Great job! The subtitles of what you are doing help a lot, providing the value of each resistor and detail by detail until the problem was fixed.

      it shows 247k ohms, not the actual value but it shows like that You have to find it out yourself.

    The second one out of the three present resistors (with two unpopulated spots to separate them all, so the middle one) below the south bridge is reading 0 ohm.
    The first is 48 ohm and the third is 32.8
    Are these values correct?

    • @idreestech
      @idreestech  2 месяца назад +1

      Please check the reading after separating the battery cell. I hope this helps!

      Sorry, I was being stupid. The resistor that measured 0 Ohm is actually at 4.5 KOhm, forgot to set my multimeter correctly. Is this normal?
      I removed the cmos battery since it was dead.
