You deserve all the accolades for your hard work and determination to make a better life for yourself and others. We see evil on a daily basis in NYC but you single-handedly bypass that tough New York exterior and delve into the loving soul that each person possesses. We each have our own perception of how the world should be, however, as we transition through life our dreams slowly erode into something completely different. The harsh realities of life bear a heavy load, but we must continue this journey in the absence of the dream. It is your generosity that shows people that there are others who care about the well-being of a total stranger, it is that very kindness that gives people hope for a better tomorrow. You can clearly see the revival of a dream that was once forgotten. Thank you for being that spark that brings life back to NYC one person at a time.

4:07 that first look, 😅🤣 It's very touching to see the reactions. I'm glad that he didn't get into that other art school, he managed to make his own mark his way.
No, he did get in -- on his second try. The teacher he met in regular high school helped him improve his portfolio to the point that he was accepted when he applied again. I love that, because kids need to know that one "no" isn't the end of the world, and if you're willing to work hard and not give up, it can change to a "yes". Also that criticism is just information about where you're at now, not the final word on where you'll always be.
can one really draw so well so fast? Think that a journey on the subway usually does not last long and he then manages to draw so well in the short time? Does not criticize, but wonders
He doesn't draw them live on the train. They're from photographs taken at the time, which he takes home to his studio and then sets up the response afterwards. How you feel about this and what he says in the video is up to you. (I couldn't possibly comment on my own opinions of this!)
@@johntaylorson7769 so he takes pictures of people, goes home to make the drawings, and then goes back to the subway and magically finds the same people to give them these drawings?
@@Tjoppy I would imagine it goes something like this: meet someone who has a regular commute on the train, offer them a free portrait (maybe show them previous videos or do a quick preparatory sketch), take a photo of them, draw portrait from photo at home, then arrange to meet them on train, wearing same outfit and sit in pose when you give them the drawing. People would do that for a free portrait.
@@johntaylorson7769 if that's the case then their 'surprised' and 'spontaneous' reactions are fake or at least staged/acted. And so is the whole setup of these videos.
Wait, at 1:32 this is what he was drawing like in 2010?! Is that even possible? So is this guy naturally amazing or did he work his ass off to get there? The pic from 2010 looks like my 7th self portrait which is why I never drew anything other than the 3D box again.
If you practice drawing every day for several years you would be surprised at what you are capable of...Drawing as this artist does requires great rigor and a lot of devotion, but it's within everyone's reach. we don't draw anything once our childhood past... it's normal to only have the level of a prehistoric man.

When I was a kid (under 10), someone showed me a drawing they had done. They were in high school, and while I hated school, I quietly looked forward to taking art in High School. Once I got to high school, I was told I was not allowed to take art. I never knew why and I gave up. A couple of years ago, I found your videos and was amazed by what you can do and thought to myself, you must have a photographic memory. It just made no sense to me. Over time it would make me sick to watch your videos, but I always at least started watching one but would not finish. I was not jealous of you or what you could do, and I thought you had great talent and still do. But I am glad I watched this video because even though I am in my 50s, I now realize it was a skill you were not born with but a passion and encouragement that made it possible. Not that it is a bad thing if you were born like that, but this could give hope to others, and thanks for sharing it.

I love that, because kids need to know that one "no" isn't the end of the world, and if you're willing to work hard and not give up, it can change to a "yes". Also that criticism is just information about where you're at now, not the final word on where you'll always be.
This guy is awesome. One of my only subs. He's fantastic. I wait for the compilations and they make me happy =)
Love how peoples faces change once they realize your giving them something and not asking for something.
What a wonderful human being you are. God Bless. Thank you!
Your drawings literally jump off the page...that's so amazing I'm lowkey jealous 😩...salute Mr. Rodriguez ✌🏽🤓
Thanks for showing your earlier artwork. It reminds us that its a combination of hard work and talent to get to the next level. Amazing work!
+100 !
can one really draw so well so fast?
I dont talk sht about his talent and so on but his misleading videos are pissing me off. What;s his is his but dont lead us
@@johntaylorson7769 if that's the case then their 'surprised' and 'spontaneous' reactions are fake or at least staged/acted. And so is the whole setup of these videos.
You have turned so many frowns to awesome smiles!
As an x services man my self just seeing your drawing her made me cry 😢. You really don't have a clue what that's does to us being thanked . We go through hell and miss so much when we are away ... Dude please keep it up first time seeing you and wow your good thank you again
They say not all Hero's wear capes. Well you sir are an example of that. Thanks so much for spreading much joy and happiness.
You have such a great heart! It gives me tears you are medicine for humanity. You deserve every blessing.
I dislike "TikTok"..but it throttled this incredible young mans career in his TRUE passion. No stupid dances, challenges...etc..whatever they do. But putting his true passion out to us around the world. And its appreciated by ALL. Just amazing. What an extremely special person.
My friend it doesn't matter ur background. U have a raw talent that will not go unnoticed. Ur effort has already paid off! The joy u bring to our flawed world is extraordinary! Please never let ur dreams fall short. U have a unique ability to make people smile and brighten their day. That, sir, is the most admirable attribute a person can have in our world.
You're one amazing, awesome young man! With so much unhappiness, sadness and pain in the world, you are dedicating your life to bring joy and happiness, if not for only a moment, still that is something each and every person needs in their lives. Thank you for being a man of high character. God bless you, your family, and your dream!
What a beautiful thing to do for people. We never see ourselves as others do and I love seeing people's reactions and the sheer joy on their faces.
Thankyou Devon for making people feel valued...what a gift.
Hello
God given talent Devon - I feel happy just watching your magic unfold; I can only imagine the joy those that you draw/paint feel.
Having this happen would make anyone smile and be happy in the moment. Much love brother, keep up the amazing work!
Youre an inspiration lil bro, im from Harlem New York. And its a true honor having a New Yorker with such talent in the streets showing off this talent!
Unbelievable talent. Unbelievable human. Makes me want to join social media just to follow him.
Devon!!! You sir, are a Godsend to all of us!!! The smiles you produce when people see a portrait that you drew!!!!!
You made me cry. You really did something amazing! Thank you
Turning a really well-trained pen into a smile with his magic hands is also quite humble as a character.
unbelievable talent and a heart as big as Texas. The world needs more people like this young man...
I love the looks of surprise when they realize you just gave them a gift without asking anything of them. With a quick, "...I drew you. I love your (whatever). have a nice day..." and you are gone, after dropping a moment on them that they will remember the rest of their lives! Thanks, these videos make MY day, all away across country on the Oregon coast.
Do you notice how wary people are when Devon first speaks to them but then their faces light up like a beacon when they see their drawings, he is amazing..stay safe 🇬🇧
Incredibly talented…and incredibly fast…artist. Wonderful! Fantastic! Brilliant!
All of humanity thanks you!
being able to capture a scene like this is so much more than just drawing the physical object. he has captured the moment, the context and the mood of his subjects in a way that i know I cannot do. I am in awe of any artist whether in sound, vidion or sculpture who can translate humanity like this... just WOW!
It's just so fun and satisfying to see people happy.
Devon is making the World a happier place... 1 person, 1 drawing at a time.
Nothing beats giving joy to a person.
Your videos truly make my heart happy. As a Boriqua from Brooklyn now living in Florida this makes me so proud. I was accepted into Art and Design but ended up going to Fashion Industries and knowing what it’s like when you have a great mentor your story is so great. Keep following your dream and making people smile. People just want to be seen. 😊
I've seen your videos for some time now. You are the light in a sadly darkening world. Keep shining my brother!
I love the initial reaction. Sometimes just the brush off swipe of the hand or angry defensive angry face...then they hear him and or see the drawing and melt
You make people so happy, thank you man, i wish there were someone like you in France too =)
So much talent and so young! My dear your videos are a true joy to watch! Thank you for sharing them and may God bless you .
Thank for humans like you in this world .
